But no ones ever claimed that it keeps you anonymous on exchanges just that it keeps people from knowing where you got/sent the darkcoins to/from, which is the most important thing.

Hasn't been any fud or manipulation for a few pages yet you have to bring it up as if its still going on... stop perpetuating and baiting it.

This coins for charities? Would be perfect if it was the coin for the porn industry, webcam sites etc
That is the angle the original dev had taken. If you go to the old thread, you will see it is covered in provocative/sexy images, and targeted towards the adult scene. It did not go over well. And as you can see from our last giveaway, that people make those same assumptions and connections. The more people learn about the new plans, new community etc... The less you will see the provocative images. No problem. I've been reading more and seems like a good coin.

Im just saying, yous have pictures of half naked girls everywhere, thought it was an adult related coin

hey all, I won't say this is off topic as I feel it pertains to both sides.
First, let me say that we hold DRK as well as XC. Just a lot more XC since we mined it from day 1.
I am glad the garbage over the last couple days has subsided, as there was never a need for it in the first place. I have also said this in the XC thread and on Twitter.
I promote the idea that our communities work together and support each other and move on to even bigger things, not for only our fanboy coin, but also for the crypto world in general. The Coindesk article made both sides look like idiots.
Both of these coins have great promise, and there are real world applications for both. It may be true that DRK is further along than XC, but DRK has also been around for much longer. Kind of like an older brother.
Let's do our best to promote cryptos in general, support innovation, and stop making the community look like a bunch of teenage girls.
Thank you
Sure thing. However, 90% of the things that have been brought up about xc by dark holders has been from a viewpoint of legitimate concern. Its only about 10% fud. Yet xc runs around saying fud fud fud dark is the reason our price went down. They think theres a 100% direct correlation to what people from dark say and the price of their coin dropping. Its just not true. I hear you. The biggest problem with the 90% concern is that 50% of that has already been gone over and put to rest. At that point they call it "fud" - I absolutely HATE that reference - FUD - Kind of like when you buy a Harley and have to get an entire new wardrobe. Regardless, we will all move forward and hopefully be better for it. Keep up the good work here guys. And remember: With new minds come new innovations Thank you for the level headed reply good sir. Its more than rumour since darkcoin was on one of their pages for a period of time Hopefully they were preparing for it.

If you had 10 masternodes then the chance of getting chosen increases as well.
Thats right - and so it should, since you've actually increased the redundancy of the network by 10 times and therefore deserve 10 times the maintenance reward. On the other hand if you DIDN'T increase the network redundancy then you shouldn't get paid any more or receive any more traffic, full stop. Doesn't matter if you've got a bigger stuffed wallet on your node. Point taken

Agree it's not end of world but all VPS are vulnerable to infiltration. And from what I can see 99% of MNs are on VPSs. A big pot just makes it that much easier for infiltration.
The size of the pot (or whether it's on a VPS, unless the VPS provider is crooked/inept) has no effect whatsoever on the security/lack of security of the MN. My impression was that as the size of the pot increases, the chances of MN doing the coinjoin increases (correct me if I'm wrong). In terms of security, there is nothing stopping govts from instructing VPS providers to provide the govt with access when push comes to shove. If you had 10 masternodes then the chance of getting chosen increases as well.

Hmm my 10,000 drk I dont want to put onto one masternode, what ever will I do. Oh thats right I can just make 10 separate masternodes like before..
|
|
|
This multi ticket idea is not good from three angles: 1. Reduces the number of MNs, which decreases resiliency. 2. If the MN with the huge pot in it gets compromised, the whole pot is gone. 3. If gov't infiltrated the large pot MN, you will have a compromised coinjoin service. i.e. This is back to the centralised coinjoin problem again.
Personally I prefer the security (real or imagined, because if you have 2FA, good password / air gapped ssh key, all ports except 9999 closed, disabled root access and only ssh access from specified IPs, and most importantly a strong wallet password, nobody can steal your DRK) of several MNs vs. just one, but I don't think giving people the choice is the end of the world - it may even lead to more MNs as you now only have to pay for a single server, not two or three or twenty seven... Agree it's not end of world but all VPS are vulnerable to infiltration. And from what I can see 99% of MNs are on VPSs. A big pot just makes it that much easier for infiltration. Why are you worried. Last time I read, you dont have enough for 1 masternode yet
|
|
|
No ones going to stop people making separate masternodes for their 10k drk to sit on instead of 1 masternode. If you are worried about security then just do it the old way...
