Yesterday Barcelona defeated an important rival Villareal. After the defeat to Real Madrid, it was a good result for the fans of Barcelona to win such a match. Barcelona were the better and more dominant side. They had plenty of chances and didn't give their opponents many chances. As a result, defeat for Villareal was inevitable.
Yesterday's other enjoyable match in the Spanish league was between almeria and Girona. Almeria led 3-0 at half time. In the second half we saw a completely different Girona and if they had scored the penalty they missed, maybe it would have ended in a draw.
About Barcelona. I don't think this is an opponent to be trifled with, obviously they've beaten them especially given the current form of the Catalans. Chelsea seem to be interested in signing Bellingham and Declan Rice now. But I assume that they will go for signing only one of these players. However these players don't play in the exact same positions actually. Declan Rice is more of a defensive midfielder. But he does a good job when he has a chance in the central midfield also (1 goal in 2 matches as CM). Bellingham is already a fascinating central midfielder and he is playing attacking focused which would be very useful for Chelsea. He has already got 5 goals and 2 assists in 15 matches. On the other hand, signing Bellingham would be a much more difficult task for Chelsea because they won't be the only team after him surely. We might see Real Madrid joining the race and then Chelsea wouldn't stand much chance to sign him. I guess he wouldn't prefer Chelsea to Real Madrid.  Bellingham is the main target for Real Madrid next year, it will be a race for him.. Steven Gerrard has been fired from Aston Villa. In truth, Villa have been poor with no cutting edge under him since he joined the team as a rookie. This had to happen! On the bench, he watched his team crumble. The idea of clubs sacking coaches so early in a season is quite surprising to me. Scotland would have been a better place for him to gain more experience. Before taking the job, he should have spent more time with the Rangers. It was too soon for the premier league job. Finally a game Liverpool fans can be proud of. We did really well for the majority of the game and we deserved both the win and the clean sheet.
I think Guardiola made the mistake starting with 3 at the back, when they switched to a back 4 in the 2nd half they were much more dangerous. But so were we though.
A win in the derby is nice, but it took us only to the 8th spot in the league. What we need now is consistency.
Liverpool had their chances and took it with confident while city couldn't converts their chances to goal. The red players were very active in the game and didn't give room for fatigue. All of them were serious especially their defend lines, Virgil and Gomez who hold down both Fosen and Haaland. Amazing results from Liverpool at anfield and city will put more efforts in their next game. Consistency is the only option for Liverpool players and i believe they will have a smooth run up for top four. I didn't expect el classico to end like this it was a really entertaining and close game but the score does not reflect how the game went barcelona team really played well and they deserved better but real madrid team is a really experienced one they know how to win games even if they don't play that good i think that's the main reason they won today.

When the second half started, liverpool caught the city defense far ahead of the counter. Salah's milk shot past the bottom of the post.
