Placebo, the problem is NOT open source, the problem is these coingen bots that enable anyone to create a crapcoin such as this. Closed sourced coins won't guarantee anything but will surely enable anyone to insert viruses into coins and no one will notice, imagine if dafuqcoin was closed source and no one noticed the malware inside it.
No, the solution isn't closed source, I don't think there's currently a solution but for now, people need not to jump at everything that comes out, starting with us pool owners.

can anybody explain to me what will happen if i keep my miners connected to the pools and working after the end of PoW? will i still get coins or nothing?
When POW's over, no pool will be able to find a block, all pool operators should shut down their stratums because of that, if not, then you'll just waste shares since all blocks will be rejected. EDIT: Yes, multipool will be the solution. |

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Minerpools is already back up, but we had to change ISP and our IP has changed, you can reach the website at http://via.minerpools.com/ All stats and user data are safe. If you'd still have some love for us, our stratum is stratum+tcp://181.58.125.139:4083 It's already up but we're still notifying the users. Once again I apologize for all these inconveniences, we've had to endure far too many DDOS attacks and were able to mitigate them but today was different, the good side was that the server wasn't reached, although it basically killed our internet connection. Changes have been made to avoid this in the future. http://via.minerpools.com is FINALLY BACK UP.
