Dump again, didn't seem to pump that much first this time.

~Picture of a Dump on Polo~

Afaik it was a closed long as many BTC went back into the lending market.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of so-called "anonymous" coins (XMR, SDC, AEON and DASH) on: September 03, 2016, 09:55:55 AM
The main problem is people acting on ignorance--and that includes not buying too.

Agreed. Can't argue with that. But you should also agree that we are currently on the "anonymous trains" wave and some people definitely will get burned.

If the OP has something against privacy as a whole, he should admit it, so others can perform due diligence on his opinion. I do remember that you had some interesting opinions on privacy and a desire to remove it from the cc world IIRC.

I've never said that I am against the privacy, but I do think it will not survive "the race". Monero currently has some success, but I'm still not sure if it is because the darknet markets, or it is just a speculation. Maybe it will find its usage (i.e. better adoption, which can justify the current price) in future, but imho it would not be that big as many people are expecting.

People should perform due diligence on these coins, not on me, because I am 101% sure that some of them will FAIL.

I wouldnt it call the anon race... we had that back in the days when Dash was Darkcoin. It is more some band-waggoning of the Monero Hype.

The recent StackExchange victory

What is this in reference to?

http://monero.stackexchange.com/

Only cryptos that have their own stackexchange site are bitcoin, ethereum, and now monero.

Wow! What an endorsement. Shocked

Not endorsement - but big community effort.

Yeah no endorsement... actually you CANNOT BUY a stackexchange site, this is stated by SE themselves on their site. So we achieved this with a good technical community.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 01, 2016, 06:36:09 PM

I thought I was doing well out of Monero a few months ago. called the market just about right. Then I made the big mistake of selling too many thinking it would go lower and I could buy back twice as many, only to find it went higher, and higher, and higher.

I did jump back in, but them words are true enough: buy and hodl.

You should have listened to me :p

265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The billion dollar baby on: September 01, 2016, 10:17:44 AM
No, you are being a typical montard, throw shit and deflect.

It's not a fact that Shadows cryptography is broken.  You keep repeating lies and your fud is a poor effort.

You have no fucking idea what your talking about and you are out of your league here.  Bring on the heavy weights- smooth, fluffy, icebreaker- let them come here and explain to me what advantages Monero has over Shadow.

So you say that SDC > XMR because of XMR has nog GUI... That critique is justified off course...

But I don't think this conversation will bring a lot more merit... All the coarse language is kind of a no-no for me...

Hope the heavy weights come over here to give you (and maybe themselves) more insight in XMR/SDC

good luck dude,

cya laterz
Maybe you missed something here but we didn't write the article, but it was a great write up so im re posting it here, XMR is older then shadow by quite a few months they had more support in community and funding then shadow yet only just finished the GUI a few months ago..wow really impressive no wonder i don't regret dumping them SDC had a GUI like 1+ years if monero is great then SDC is better and cheaper so i will buy them now stop talking about monero because like ETH im sick of it being spammed every where i turn, IM NOT INTERESTED IN XMR! just saying

If you think Cryptography or Cryptocurrency is about who has the prettiest GUI ... im sorry to disappoint you... in the end only the tech counts... not how fancy it is.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 31, 2016, 07:27:23 AM
Speaking of the GUI...

Quote
but it will, for example, allow users of the GUI to pay any Bitcoin address with Monero from their GUI wallet using an xmr.to plugin.

WOW!  Shocked Shocked this would be a fantastic ease of use feature! Allows quick and easy inclusion of all existing bitcoin accepting vendors. Very cool! I'm getting more excited every day!

Any particular reason why is the upcoming GUI integrated with XMR.to and not Shapeshift?

There seems to be differences between xmr.to and shapeshift which are significant enough for XMR developers to use the former...

You are overthinking this, the emphasis was on the Plug-In Tool for the Wallet.... anything can be put in there if someone writes the code for the plug-in Wink
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] Monero - Marketing Team & Tactics on: August 29, 2016, 02:50:00 PM
Monero is badly written...JC ONLY founded 12 exploits and believe me, there are more Smiley you think your viewkey is save now? That you are the one who has access to it?

NSA loves the story that XMR will be the darknet money hahaha....enjoy your drug buys boys

If there have been exploits found, please exploit them and then post about it here.

Otherwise your claim is bullshit.

How is your joint venture with the admin of Alphabay, my friend? Everything working well? When are you planning to cash out?

Wow looks like someone is sniffing too hard in the trollbox... FYI... i guess you are looking for the smooth rumour... this is smoothie Wink

Well i doubt he did... would it not be the best time to use them and short the hell out of monero? He could make Millions with it, and use that to fund his Vcash Trash.
Also NSA claims are quite boring without any sources to back them.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much is Monero actually being used on the darknet markets? on: August 29, 2016, 02:02:06 PM
MOnero is a child oriented coin, with an aggressive marketing and a full day spam on this board.

is the essence of nothing pumped to the moon because the low supply.

This dark market thing is an excuse to pump the coin with their polo friends.

They will come back to nothing as they deserve.

Julian Assange would be ashamed over your due diligence and your ignorance.

Please remember, that the last ATH brought a quite huge drop along  Roll Eyes

How can you even compare those 2? the volume is different
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Leading Dark Net Markets to Support Monero on: August 27, 2016, 12:12:26 AM
I didnt think monero had a gui wallet yet.  How will people use it on the darknet?
Its simple, they won't. Its all just smoke and mirrors. Liars are lying, you know.
The Dark Net actually gives a shit about Monero.
All that happened was somebody created an exit node for Monero on TOR, ooh, oooooh, oooooh.
The pump was a planned homerun initiated by Smooth with the dough he made with STEEM.
And it went wrong, they lost control of most of their shit now, better times for crypto ahead.

Source? Arguments? Evidence? Otherwise this is just empty blabla ...
272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When do you think Monero and Bitcoin will reach price parity? on: August 26, 2016, 10:08:58 AM
Or a question of time. Everything is a question of time... even IF monero would pass BTC... another time in the future sth else would pass monero... that is the circle of life :p. Survival of the fittest
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 26, 2016, 09:54:36 AM
Lucky you ... my loan was closed when we hit 950 :/

I am not sure if there is something more idiotic than giving away your coins to dump for a tiny fraction of it.
Your loan closed because idiot who tried to short your coins got liquidated, you are lucky because under some circumstances you can receive back less coins than you lent.
sammy007 as far as i know every squeezed margin position on Polo got paid back to the lender, i have yet to hear about someone who did not get his coins back. 2.5x leverage aint that big of a leverage to risk that... i think polo´s liquidation algorithm is good enough for that. Also like i said before... if you are afraid of losing it, put it into cold wallet.

One or the other will inevitably occur: liquidation loss (small) and/or exchange hack/bankruptcy.  Polo is AFAICT a very tight ship, but it is not immune to physics. We cannot diversify and decentralize fast enough for me.  We are outgrowing Polo.  Competitors will recognize this soon enough.

This is the reason why i always say, BTC network effects are not a plus to BTC.... everything that get´s successful by its own will get the network effect + hashrate + anything else the network effect preachers tell. it is kind of a law of nature.

He is ofcourse lying about his mining and of how profitable mining is.  Mining was very profitable when price was halved. Now is super profitable. But for sure miners will join with time.

Do the math yourself idiot. A single GTX 800 hashes at 600H/s - that is .2 XMR per day

I have XMR loans out on Polo for 0.49% a day for 60 days. Should they be out for the full duration that'd be a 29.4% XMR return.

Doubt we'll see those rates soon again though. Got them in when the price were around 0.005 and the XMR loaning market were illiquid since people rather took margin with their XMR or wanted to be ready to sell their XMR when it was breaking out thinking it will be temporary. Whoever has my XMR now is trapped inside a horrific short position and seemingly unwilling to cut losses.

This is something for miners who do not care about trading to be aware of. Next time XMR breaks out be sure to check out the lending market instead of taking the 0.15%/day rates you have there now.

Interesting is this loan market worth it for someone with about 1k Mons?

The talk here was usually that loaners were hurting the price or something for very little gains, so I didn't look any further.

Well the biggest failure would be if the Exchange goxxed, every little or big gain is nil if that event happens. On the other hand is see it like this, every interest i get are monero someone else cannot buy and dump, shorters need to buy back the coins they use and also provide liquidity. Example with around 330 Monero i got like 1 Monero per day at 0,4x % rates. Don´t play with money you cannot lose, in that case rather but it into a cold wallet.

278  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Deutscher Community Thread on: August 25, 2016, 10:28:40 PM

Glaube aber nicht, dass es im Moment clever ist, sich mit Moneros einzudecken und in die Wallet zu schieben  Grin

Wieso?

279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: August 25, 2016, 06:30:58 AM
Besides, until we have no market for turning XMR in $ or €, the cashout probably will still be in BTC, which does not lift the price of XMR a little bit.

The more I study this sentence the less it makes sense.
Perhaps by "no" do you mean "a" - in which case, you do realise that Polo already has a XMR/USD market.

To be fair it is XMR/TUSD
280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE RISE AND RISE OF MONERO on: August 25, 2016, 06:22:13 AM
I think those of us who watched the bull/bear p!ssing matches, the FUD storms, the hacks, ddos attacks, and scams that were the bitcoin scene in 2013 have a pretty good idea what to expect... If you are from the post-gox era, please try simulating 2013 using the wall observer thread.  That is basically the worst-case scenario coming up for the Monero community.  You have been warned.

Huh? All I've been hearing is good news... what is this worst case scenario?

I think he is talking less price-wise but more community-wise. E.g. more toxic behaviour from different people, Epic FUD, Misleading en masse etc.
