Indeed the finals are up on us! I am still kind of surprised that GG is the one that made it through and are facing Team Spirit in the finals. Will be interesting to see CIS vs EU Dota Cheesy
i think i dont even have a favourite in this one, will just watch for the love of the game.
42  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 29, 2023, 07:25:55 PM

but Ngannou still lost the fight. I'm not a boxing expert, but I think Ngannou was the fighter who most deserved to win this fight. It's funny that before this fight started, the odds were 1.09 in favor of Tyson Fury, I actually laughed a lot when I saw this odds, but when I watch the highlights of the fight, I keep asking myself why the bookmakers put odds of 1.09 for tyson fury and during the fight, things were not going well for tyson fury, it was a fight in which tyson fury was being put under pressure, the bookmakers were very wrong

Everyone will automatically make assumptions as Fury as the heavy favourite to win the fight simply because boxing is his field and he is the HW champ against Ngannou who just about to have his first professional boxing match. So, that explains why.
But then again, Ngannou stunned Fury when he knocked him down. Clearly, Fury underestimated Ngannou that he didn't prepared much for this fight as he is a bit out of shape compared to his previous fights. It could be embarrassing for a HW champ to lose on someone who just had his first boxing match. So, again, I understand why the outcome, but Ngannou deserved a win for this fight.

BTW, overall the match was pretty close. Fury landed more jabs while Ngannou kept pressuring and landed nice power shots. The knockdown that he scored against Fury was nice aswell BUT it also showed how tough Fury is. He ate that shot and got back up, didnt become wobbly nor slow down after it (even tho it was quite early in thr fight).

What an incredible performance by Francis Ngannou against Tyson Fury even though he lost the fight by split decision, Francis Ngannou was able to drop him in the third round and won the round and it was a really close fight than anticipated and the stock of Francis Ngannou just gone up with this performance.

~
I certainly hope there is a rematch because Ngannou still has a lot of room for improvement. Either Fury is really starting to decline, or he didn't take this match seriously enough, or was just scared of Ngannou's power. He didn't look his best. If he is better prepared in a rematch it will be a really explosive fight but if he takes it lightly again his vulnerabilities, which were exposed again tonight, will lead to him getting knocked out cold.
Tyson Fury might have taken him lightly and it looked like he gassed out as well, it was definitely one hell of a performance by Francis as it was expected to be a cake walk for Fury when the fight was announced.

What a fight! Ngannou did WAY better than i thought he would, it was a really close fight, i would even say he won.. I really think if he wants to, he could probably go full time boxing. With more experience and training he could become a real force in the sport. As for Fury fighting Usyk, i have my doubts about that one now.

44  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 28, 2023, 06:54:55 PM
If you have spare money you can afford to waste, go for Ngannou a big win with 8.20. And it could also go to waste more than likely.

A KO win by Fury still is substantial which is more than 80% possible if we look at the odds itself.
But there is no assurance to it yet, they could just be running arround the ring and end in a decision.
They're heavyweight fights I think so running around the ring would be the least thing that they're going to do and I believe that it's either going to be a slug fest or a battle of predictions but I've seen what Ngannou's fist can do and I think that if he's boxing training is going to be fruitful, he might have a chance to win against the Gypsy King but who knows, we will know tomorrow who's going to be dominating.
I'm curious about the odds for the KO by Fury in this fight. Were they at 1.80 or higher?
K.O. bets are probably higher since they're more uncertain and unpredictable.

I think we are going to see a very explosive start from Ngannou and a more calculated first rounds from Fury. I have a feeling Fury might want to put on a show for the people at least forsome rounds and then probably to finish with a KO or a TKO, i dont want this going to a vote.
Also not much to go now! very excited
45  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not a casual fan but want to participate in sportsbetting on: October 27, 2023, 06:54:44 PM
once an NBA fan somewhat like a casual fan of NBA and wants to bet on matches.

being a fan but not going to do some research about the players and team conditions, how am i going to participate in sports betting specifically on the NBA?
i wouldn't want to just keep following based on the odds. seemingly as a bettor, it requires ramping up on lots of updates and knowledge of the sport and how the team players are doing. how am i to do it?

Im not really sure you can have you cake and eat it too Cheesy
If you dont just want to go with the odds, im guessing the way to do it would be to sign up to a sports "news" channel/telegram that posts updates for teams. And then make bets when you see that some good playes are going to miss the match. Another option is just to look at previous matches between the two and include home field or not.
An option, even tho not reccomended, would be to just follow someone elses picks.
46  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think if you have a lot of money its hard to satisfy your ego in gambling on: October 27, 2023, 03:59:44 PM
We have threads here about people betting millions of dollars on sports battings and other games in casinos and the amount of money is insane, they can bet millions of dollars on one team and they easily forget everything and bet another millions.

I doubt if we have high rollers who will admit, that having a lot of money means you cannot satisfy your ego or that your level of enjoyment is high that you will need to bet millions of dollars just to fulfill your dopamine level.

What do you think, if I have millions I will be satisfied betting thousands of dollars for fear of addiction that will lead to losing my fortune, but I really don't know if I will reach that level of having millions and still be moderate in gambling.

Generally speaking it feels like the rich who gamble tend to be ones who inherited the wealth or they just do it for the thrill. Once you reach a certain amount of wealth it is no longer about the money but seeking excitement (but there will ofc always be exceptions to this).

I see there are quite a few promotions going on but as Little Mouse mentioned, the 40x wagering requirement is pretty high. Also it would be much better if the 3 day time limit would be made a bit longer aswell.
Is it correct the bonus can be claimed once per each coin you deposit ? If so thats a whole lot of rolls
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Traditional Finance markets trading on DeFi on: October 27, 2023, 04:45:08 AM
Hi everyone,

This is an interesting article pointing out the budding interest from traditional finance in trading FX and other financial instruments using DeFi rails - https://www.coinfeeds.io/daily/traditional-finance-on-defi-rails

This is a pretty interesting development, do you think it has legs?

The interest for Defi has been there from traditional markets for a while. Ive heard about quite a few chains that were looked at by several companies. Blockchain tech fits markets well, especially as a distribution layer.

As for that article being interesting, i would hardly call that thing an article.

50  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Delisted/Inactive Coins from Exchange on: October 26, 2023, 12:03:03 PM
Theres so many trash tokens out there that promised the world and delivered nothing. To b ehonest its actually quite surprising that more of them have not been delisted Cheesy
Also what happens if you add every token ever created and with even a few trades on any random DEX, the amount would be x50 ?
51  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a Top-down or Bottom-up bettor? on: October 25, 2023, 06:48:19 PM
So which are you, a top-down or bottom-up bettor?

From these descriptions i would most certainly be a bottom-up bettor. I like to come up with my own reasoning and analyze the situation then go from there. I really do not like to follow other peoples advice blindly, but i do look at it and if they provide some advice/info that makes sense then i encorporate that into my own.

Sounds like someone who lost at the casino felt like they needed to vent and let out some steam. Some people really need some help with mental health and an intervention so they could stop gambling
I know you're trying to be funny but stereotyping mental health issue because someone's doing something unhinged is kind of a shitty scapegoat. Pretty sure that the person who did the article is a piece of shit but that doesn't mean that they're mentally ill because they can do that, cartel members that skin your face while you're alive are sane as anyone can be, how about that.

Regarding the article, OP should've checked the author of the Medium article to see if it's a credible news, which in this case is not as pointed out by other members already. Maybe next time anything weird is happening on the new, check multiple sources.

No i am not implying that this is funny, nor do i try to be funny. It is extremely likely (if not certain) that OP is the one who made the medium article. Even if he is not, the person making that made that post needs some help with their mental health.
53  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shame on haters for claiming that crypto is widely used in terrorist financing! on: October 25, 2023, 07:41:39 AM
The reason why they want to paint crypto as a funding source for terrorism is because they cant really control in. BUT in order to add more controls/rules for crypto they want to have a reason and theres no easier exlanation than terrorism/money laundering.
In reality, vast majority, if not pretty much all of terror financing is done using the USD.

57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market warms up, what altcoins can help me rich? on: October 24, 2023, 06:48:17 AM
I read some Twitter users with big followers that cryptocurrency market is going to be bullish.

Bitcoin halving will come in 2024.

Bitcoin will have a big bull run in 2024.

What altcoins can help me rich in 2024 and 2025?

Any idea?

TBH if you need to ask that then the best chance you have is to just stick with daddy BTC. The returns might be lower but at least you know what way the market is moving Smiley
58  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The International 12 [Dota 2, eSport] discussion thread on: October 23, 2023, 06:15:55 AM
Such a bad performance by Shopify Rebellion, i was expecting way more from them. I expect Talons and VP to win their respective matches and both to move on. That match should be REALLY fun! After the VP vs Team Spirit game i would give the edge to VP tho, they certainly have the potential.

Awful performance indeed and a disband might be the correct way for the org but also for some players because in my opinion , RTZ lost his touch and he no longer plays or adapt to modern dota. Second reason would be that Bulba drafts have been bad lately but the chemistry between players is no longer there.

Talon series is very rough as BB just won their series and will play in aprox 4hours from now.

I think you are correct about Rebellion. It feels like they might do better if they dispand and try to find other teams where they have more chemistry.
Also i did not see Talon loosing to BB! Now we get BB vs VP Cheesy I dont really even know who to bet on that one because its russian dota vs russian dota, you never know what happens there.
59  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thurman Vs Stanionis WBA world welterweight December 9 on: October 23, 2023, 05:40:59 AM

Both of them didn't compete for a while. They're both inactive for almost the same period. Thurman's 1 year and 8 month's inactivity isn't much different from Stanionis' 1 year and 6 months.

Very true, that isnt too different.

Good luck with that, I think you are putting your money at a high risk bet, but we never know for sure what the outcome would be, as you know, upset is not impossible, Honestly, I have a feeling this is Thurman's time to shine. He loss the opportunity or a significant fight, one that was rumored to be a prelude to facing either Spence or Crawford. I'm sure his goal is to make a comeback and get another shot at the championship. Winning this fight is the first step, and his performance needs to be electrifying to drum up excitement among the fans, which is what the promoters are looking for. So, I think there's a good chance Thurman might secure a victory by knockout in this fight.
Yeah i know Thurman is the clear favourite going into the fight, not even a question. And i am sure he is highly motivated to get back in the ring and get his chance a the championship. Still something tells me Stanionis still has a good chance Cheesy this might be a terrible prediction btw, i will still roll with it.
60  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: stay away from this ( scam allert for arbitrage traders) on: October 22, 2023, 07:19:49 PM
For those who've been in the crypto space for a while, it's no surprise that Bitcoin has been a mainstay since the early days, often subject to various arbitrage schemes. However, it's crucial to shed light on this issue, especially for newcomers who might be unfamiliar with the risks involved.

I decided to investigate after seeing a promotion on a platform "X," and upon visiting the website ( https://ethereum-arbitrages.com/ ), it claimed that Ethereum could generate a staggering 20% ROI within 24 hours through arbitrage. Additionally, they suggested that ETH2 would facilitate smart contracts ( https://ethereum-arbitrages.com/code ) to interact with a bot for automated gains. Unfortunately, the reality isn't as rosy as painted.

Disturbingly, individuals who attempted this approach previously warned of a potential smart contract backdoor, though they've since deleted their messages. What's more concerning is that this dubious information is actively being disseminated via Telegram.

I implore anyone who comes across this to stay far away from such scams, as they pose a significant threat to the investments of many. In a space as exciting as cryptocurrency, safety and due diligence are paramount to protect your assets and financial future.
And it's important to note that this isn't an isolated case. Unfortunately, there are many more similar schemes and scams lurking in the crypto sphere. While cryptocurrency offers immense potential, it also attracts its fair share of bad actors looking to exploit the uninformed.

As the age old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true it most likely is. Still good that you bring attention to this.
A few years ago there were different type of arbitrage scams. A few exchanges had several markets where they listed coins for a much higher or lower price. This created a situation where people tried to arbitrage but when they deposited they lost all their money as the exchange never allowed anyone to withdraw. That was pretty damn nasty
