It needs more than one exchange. Its only had $ 97 volume on Bittrex today and any low volume coin there quickly gets removed.

I have known devs to disappear for weeks, 3 or 4 days is not so bad.

Very interesting developments, thanks gjhiggins! Now if we decide to hard fork: It's true what rfcdejong says, it could weaken the network. It would be nice to have some kind of "census" of active slimcoin users, or even better, to have an own forum to coordinate the protocol switch. Well, at least we have a reddit, it's pretty inactive but could be used for these cases: http://www.reddit.com/r/slimcoin/ I've seen at least some recent post have been made ... things are getting better. I am a bit delayed with my little "PoB report" project but expect to launch it next week. Will announce it here and at Reddit. A forum would be good but I bet most people would look here first for any important updates.

Just to put things in perspective.. >63 locations >barely turns a profit >1.5 billion dollar market cap
If some burgerchain social McDonalds ripoff (NYSE:SHAK) instantly gets such market cap, I don't even know why Bitcoin is still trading so low. This market is a joke on so many levels. As soon as crypto currencies are dumbed-down enough to be safely used and appeal to real mainstream users, their price will not stay at current levels.
Well you are talking about a launch here, didn't the same thing happened with bitcoin after launch ? Just because bitcoin was more complex, took it 4-5 years but it did happen. When Kentucky fried chicken started it was one man selling food. It took decades to grow into a multinational business. Give bitcoin a chance of decades.

FWIW IMO, price is showing no signs of one or two mega miners (>50% total network hash) dominating and dumping.... Which is to say if they are out there now they aren't selling their SPR (yet) at these prices... JL
If there were mega miners I guess they would have started dumping by now.

...cancel your stupid buy order at 1 satoshi and move up a notch, you guys look pathetic.
I missed out on cheap coins by putting my buy orders in too low a number of times last year. I'm not making that mistake with DIODE.

Here's an idea ... getting operational gambling sites as Joint Venture partners.
It's easier said than done, I had contacted several large gaming websites(some Bitcoin some not) about the potential to accept CsC on their platform and the same response seems To be coming that it might be an option in the future but at this time they would pass up the offer. We just need to find the right online casino, or someone builds their own and knows how to market it very well. if the market cap was at least $500k, this might be easier to justify as a funding option. I need to get back on GMO:s ass and see if I can restart the effort to setup a system to enable purchasing casinocoin through japanese convenience stores again. Something like this could incentivise better adoption. That would be great. Making casinocoin that easy to buy would push the price sky high. The market cap could easily go over $500k if you could buy coins in convenience stores.

We've been lucky in some respects that the price has tested $450 early this month then back to $350.
Many on here, called $350 range as the short-term bottom, they appear to have been right so far.
Having run my own brokerage for the past year - I think sub$400 is very cheap/reasonable price to acquire BTC and for some reason we've all had plenty opportunity.
Relatively small volumes (2000BTC) on Bitstamp seems to have no trouble rising the price $10-18 dollars.
Noticing each time a subsequent NET "dump" of around (1600BTC) bringing us down $6-9 dollars.
These are just my observations over past 8 days - appears we are indeed going up albeit at a slowish rate.
We all know how volatile it comes with respect to price index - wouldn't surprise me that at some point a possibly (coordinated?) fiat injection across all exchange majors will occur to re-test $450-480.
Would advise my fellow margin traders to be careful now, and consider not selling too cheap if you are unable to liquidate:buy back within a day. I currently have BTC selling at $443 on a popular peer to peer exchange ; ) getting fewer daily trades/volume but much less risk!
Which popular peer to peer exchange?

Yep, seen this too and the only thing this remembered me on was MT.GOX they had the same pattern with the Willy bot.
Roughly what date did you see this pattern on MT.GOX? Was it near the time it closed down?
|
|
|
That might explain some of the massive dumps. What date did he get your coins?

Look at those buy walls! Madness! Can't wait for V2 tonight...and Mintpal V2 this week. Perfect timing. Mintpal V2 might be delayed. The DDoS attacks earlier this week might have interfered with their schedule.

Is there a limit to how much bter will let you hold in USD without a bank account?

Wow, so much bitcoin into an alt presale. Don't know much about this Ethereum, worth a look I guess, but probably won't buy any.
You might be able to buy them at cheaper prices on the market than people paid for them during the IPO.
|
|
|
The ethereum team have already sold at roughly this level to pay bills, and might sell again at this level. Other people with bills (like miners) could have no other choice but to sell at this level

Yes, why are you bears here if you don't believe in bitcoin? To buy cheap bitcoins perhaps? Lately... to short. This is a speculation subforum. I am sure there is a cultist subforum somewhere else. Have fun, there. There is probably also a bitcorntalk forum for the ultra bears.

A large number of the IPO's here have been scams. I'm sure any current IPO dev intending to scam people will recommend you buy his coin.

$2000 will be a low value for bitcoins next year, with the incoming halving the price will skyrocket.
When is the incoming halving due to happen?
|
|
|
The last time the ethereum team dumped some bitcoins they announced their intentions beforehand. If they make another dump announcement I expect bitcoin's price will suddenly drop.
