576 drks being paid to MNs every day, if there is 1000 MN (600 now), thats 0.576*365/1000 = 21% annualized interest rate.
If there is 2000 MN, thats still 10% interest rate..
Why sell your DRK at this cheap price?

I was thinking about how much money is needed to keep the same price, regarding to coins generated per day and did some little calc. Bitcoin 616$ ~3600 per day = 2.217.600 $ per day Litecoin 8,32$ ~30.000 per day = 249.600$ per day Darkcoin 5,89$ ~2880 per day = 16.963$ per day I was flabbergasted when I saw these figures, am I doing it wrong  I was a bit confused by your comma and decimal points notation, but I think its an interesting topic. I think the money it needed to keep the same price came from the mining equipment and energy cost, I read it somewhere that the energy being used to mine bitcoin everyday can power the the whole country of Cambodia, so thats about the 2 Million dollars you are talking about to sustain the price of BTC. With Darkcoin, I bet it cost the world more than $16963 per day to mine those coins, so the price should really go up more. |

as far as I know, x11.ltc1btc.com is just a pool mode most of chinese GPU miners looking to make a ROI... Yes, they were late paying the MNs, but its 20% of their profits in their mind, now they are paying with wafflepool now. It sucks if you mine with them, wafflepool takes 2% cut, they take another cut and don't have to do any coin exchange work  I think they are not for or against darkcoin, their faith is in BTC or cash. |

That is not an option. It is not up for debate. And it will not remain closed source. Period. Closed source means no one has any idea what actually is happening. Closed source means it could be tracking every tx and reporting them to the NSA and you would have absolutley no way of knowing. It will be open source. Period. my only concern is for the price of DRK to go to the moon, I still don't see ASIC will help that, with the current high cost of mining DRK with GPU, at least it provides a minimum price support.
Mining cost will detach when it gains market accepts and actually gets used as a currency. We're still in the pre-moon stage. It has to be moon-worthy first, then it goes there. DRK has the moon-worthy plan, and it's actually happening. This is what the long hodlers know. I am one of them. Its gonna happen, with low supply of the coin, more master nodes,(1000 master nodes = 1M coins hoarding), no more screwups, I am holding, but shaken by the recent price action... fingers crossed. |

The PoSers think they have a solution. They do not. 6) Hybrid work proof is the future. PoW/PoService hybrids, to be exact. DRK is the one. 7) Mining at zero cost with a $25 USB key that uses no measurable power and blows your mining rigs out of the water is the future of supporting the network.  It's going to happen anyway. Being a money hoser that's mad his money hose is no good anymore isn't going to stop evolution. 9) DIFF too high for the current thinking on ASICs. Giant box, huge power bill, crazy diff... 10) Micro ASICs are the only thing that will make sense. The market will find the vacuum and fill it no matter how many GPU miner tears there are. 11) DRK will then have a way more powerful and way more distributed wad of hashpower. It will cost next to nothing and it won't be worth mining any other way for any other reason. 12) Conventional huge-box huge-power ASICs may mine other coins, but they'll look like a fool on DRK, while also being no threat to the massive distributed hashpower of micro ASICs. 13) They'll be cheap enough that switching algo, which is already crypto-suicide, won't make sense and will lack motivation. 14) My crystal ball is better than yours. x11.ltc1btc.com and wafflepool have been mining drk separately for a while already, and they always had over 30-40% of the blocks, its x11.ltc1btc.com dumping 80g of chinese hashes onto wafflepool making it more obvious.
They actually made wafflepool less profitable for old miners

Not the fault of wafflepool.
ahh.. this clears things up for me. But its still a very unhealthy situation, having one pool with so much power / hashrate I know about that 51% attack issue, but its not likely I think. I have been observing waffle pool, their tactic actually works quite well, by jumping in and out of different coins with 20-40GH/s, they can grab a bunch of blocks quickly without raising the difficulty or network hash rate, and this hit and run, riding the difficulty wave tactic is more profitable than sticking with a single coin alone. But now with over 100G at same time, it will get network hash rate and difficulty up and noticed. A few days ago, someone told me only 35BTC of darkcoin being mined per day, still small compare to volume on mintpal even if they are all sold. This tactic doesn't work worth a shit with DGW3 re-targeting... But it still makes the point that USB ASICs are a good idea. Even if you don't think that the guv will build a custom ASIC to sabotage DRK, there's still enough hashpower out there that if even 1% of the GPU mining community shifted to DRK, it'd bend the needle to 99.999%. This was a very, very short-term spike. It didn't even budge the 24 hour chart:
And, the REASON it was a very, very short-term spike is: DGW3.They jumped in, and then ran away cuz it instantly sucked for them. I thought most of GPU miners already switched to X13-X15 because of the profitability and lower energy cost, is that the case or you are saying most GPU miner still on LTC? any info, link or data on that? |
