81  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: August 07, 2015, 02:10:52 AM
I ran my u3 units for couple of months with no issue. I used a atx power supply to power them with custom made plugin cables. I also ran the fans directly from psu power not thru the units board. Was the single biggest boost I got in reliability and performance from them. I used a 800 power setting and a *c ** frequency and I got 73gh/s from them.
All I can say is if you are powering them with the brick is good luck.

This makes me want to change my mind about selling my U3s.  I do like making things work Cheesy

I previously posted here with screenshot of my miner running at 83gh/s. I also shared the bat file line I was using to run it. Haven't seen my posts anymore so I am thinking they got removed. I had really good luvk with my little miners but have moved on to bigger.

I am thinking I should have found this forum before trying to trade on cex. Would have saved myself from a "lost deposit".

It's nothing of the sort. We had issues with coinbase so rather than spend time coding up support for a new payment processor we've coded up our own in V2. which is far better. We will be deploying it with V2 in the coming few weeks. Until then we have to send manually.

EDIT: Also im on holiday so it takes me a bit longer to be able to get to somewhere which i can use securely to send out the BTC

Ahmed

I can respect if your having issues and that is all someone had to say to me.

I removed the 3 stock fans and mounted 2 high flow 120mm on backside in the case and have teh unit on a shelf venting directly out the window. The air it puts out is cool with barely any warmth to it. I also run it at 27mh/s setting so after 3 months like this I would say it works just fine. Oh, I have the fans powered via the 4 pin molex style connector straight to psu. Not even sure there is a onboard hookup but just a note in case there is. Also this is an exceptionally quiet setup.

91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: iSpace SHA256 Mining Pool Support Thread on: March 30, 2015, 09:51:55 PM
So i mined a bunch of Neocoin at iSpace yesterrday and for some reason they never made it to my account at cryptsy when they auto withdrew from the pool site. I emailed ispace about it to see if they could atleast give me some tx records so I can get cryptsy to track it down but I have yet to get a response from them. I normally catch glitches like this early but this time I mined out about 10k of the coin before I realised the glitch.
At this point it is looking like a wasted period of hashing so far. As cryptsy can't or won't do anything without the tx record info. As far as I have found there is no way to get this info without the asistance of iSpace support.
Not the first time I have lost out by not being actively diligent in monitoring while hashing at iSpace.

I am not happy witht his outfit at all. The provided telephone number only gets you a recording that someone will call you back. So far no response to my email at this point. I did just have a couple of questions but do to what I have run into I have asked for a refund. They advertise on their site 100% satisfaction or your money back. Considering things as they are I really doubt it.
Anyhow I asked for a refund and so far on a five star rating system they are shy a few star's even registering on that scale as far as I am concerned.
93  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: March 08, 2015, 08:51:23 PM
Is there a guide to underclocking the S3 Huh

Couldn't find anything decent or an "easy to do" tutorial  Roll Eyes

Thanks!!!  Wink

You can get settings from the bitmain tech site under the support. Get the info for the chip and it will tell you what volt and freq combo's to use.

https://www.bitmaintech.com/files/download/BM1382_Datasheet_v3.0.pdf

Is what you want. Also updating to latest firmware makes it a breeze to do.

95  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recovery program beginning in January for PB Mining customers. on: February 24, 2015, 07:27:35 PM
PbMining is just another scam program. Like so many others I too got took. Not near as bad as others but still.

I advocated for Pbmining until mid January being fool enought to hopw they were legit and just got a bad turn thrown thier way. No such luck.

They do not respond to emails in anyway. A simple email of explanation would have been nice. Oh thats right thieves don't explain they just do.

PbMining will get what they have dealt out to others. Life just kinda accomodates people like them until oneday it just plan screws them. Hope I get to watch it happen.
96  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Definitive proof the owner of pbmining is a scammer on: February 24, 2015, 07:21:12 PM
As someone who was a advocate for pbmining it is time I must say they are just like all the others and nothing but thieves. Is sad to see but I guess it just goes to show that there are scammers in every little nook and cranny in the crypto world.

PbMining owners need to be held accountable for their actions but from what I have seen this too shall be gotten around in some way.

Beginning to think that Satoshi was just a ring leader for a bunch of intelligent thieves who developed the ultimate scam on the world.

Well I learned my lesson and will never invest in cloud or otherwise mining that I do not personally hold the equipment doing the mining.

MINERSOURCE.NET or Miner Hosting LLC was not AUTHORIZED BITMAIN DISTRIBUTOR OR AUTHORIZED RESELLERS

Please Purchase any Bitcoin Miners Direct from the Manufactures.  Bitmain is not the only manufactures who sell hardware DIRECTLY to the consumers.  All REPUTABLE MANUFACTURES DO SELL hardware directly to the consumers.  Any time you purchase from other than the manufactures, you may experience extra headache as None of the Manufactures will have control over whoever resell the hardware.

Also, other manufactures have very similar warranty rules when it comes to the second/third handed Bitcoin Miners.  Some were even sold new but being used or out of warranty to start with.

We have service parts available for both S3 and S3+.  Please contact us for the service need.

Unfortunately, we CAN NOT be liable for unaffiliated resellers or individual reselling miners and when the transaction goes side way. (BUT, if you need the item serviced, there may be a small expense to you if it is out of the warranty, but it can be serviced)

If you see any firmware bugs, or issues.  Please PM us!!!

Unfortunately, Bugs will continue to exist  Cry

P.S: Some may experience it and some may never see it in bug mode...  Bad experience could be the firmware caused or could be the hashing environment caused, or simply weird condition that we may never know. (But... But... But... We want to know about it)

There is no guarantee that all reported bugs will be fixed but each report will be carefully looked at.

I have done the ticket thing, tried to be nice, what I got was . Please spend more money returning it to us so we can fix it and send it back. Oh, you need the original purchase number from the supplier you bought it from though.  In this case minersource who is apparently no longer in existance as their web site is gone and no other info on them is availabel. I sad that they are listed as a supllier but the  customers info from the purchase they made from the supplier doesn't work.

Thus my post here. Maybe save some people some headaches. Sorry but my last few Antminer buys (3 U3, 3 S3+) have all been sour apples.

I have contacted bitmain directly and was told I could not buy just the control boards. I was furtther told the only way to get the boards was under warranty which as you can see I can't do. Either way 1 month on a new unit whether it sat on the shelf for a day or a year is bad quality. But hey we can go at this all day. You try to redirect I will keep pointing out the fact of poor quality. Smiley

So I have 3 S3 units. I bought one and it hashed for a week and the control card died. Now it sems the other 2 have also died. Yes. I have done all the usual. Updated, reset, etc. Got about a month out of each unit.
Unfortunately I bought these from minersource who now appears to be gone as their website is gone. So I can't get the original shipping info or purchase order info for warranty. Such as it is.
I would have atleast expected your products to be more durable than a month in hashing time. After some research it apears to have become a common problem with your gear that the control boards fail prematurely by a bunch. Sadly I am being told that unless under warranty the parts to fix are not available. SO after not quite a month out o each miner I am dead in the water and burnt it seems. Sad just plan sad.
Well guess I will try the spondoolies out to see if they are any better. First one is going to be an sp20 unit.
By the way. the BtcGarden unit I own has literally ran circles around the s3 units as far as stability and realiability goes. Wish they would come back.
Well hope this bit of info can help save others from the pain of wasting money on low grade gear.
