as long as it comes with a money surely they are interested: D

because money is everything for women, but not for all women really, it's just for women who love shopping and dissipation

That's a bit mean, money has always been way more important to guys than to girls. We care way more about feelings. Please take back what you said, it's so mean : (

My scammer alert alarm is sounding. Yeah, there are a few girls involved in bitcoin, but sadly most of the ones on here who go out of their way to tell everyone about their female gender are unfortunately just gearing up to try scam people.

It doesn't make sense to me.
No matter the person is a male or female, American or European or Asian or African, you should be equally cautious for the trades.
You shouldn't trust the person more just because it is a "she", and you shouldn't consider the person less trustworthy simply because it is a "she".

Exactly. I think it's great how everyone in the btc community is keen to help each other out with trades, loans, etc, but why treat girls like a threat? We don't have special hypnotic powers to get guys to send btc. So don't worry. Plus I would think everyone on here is smart and has common sense to be cautious whether its a girl or a guy? So can we pls all get along and be friends now? : ) xxx

SexyBTC is girl too.

Don't know if she still is around.

Guess not.
She wasn't as active after being accused of scamming and last logged in on August 24.

Well to be fair, a username like SEXYbtc is a bit suggestive I.e. suspicious. But any girls who are using their own names (like myself) -and show an interest in how bitcoin works not just how to get them sent to them for free- should be treated as equals on here, pretty please? X
924  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: September 17, 2014, 12:14:08 AM
of course why don't they. Now a lot of online stories are start accepting Bitcoin. I think girls are comfortable with online shopping. So i think they use Bitcoin.

Yes, cause us girls are only interested in shopping and would never own a mining rig, right? Come on, computers and technology is fun for some of us, maybe a small percentage, but please don't generalize.
Also, I'm very annoyed at "Girls gone bitcoin" because I think it should mean girls who love Bitcoin, it should have been a site for girls who mine and are Bitcoin super fans, not for girls getting free Bitcoin in exchange for naked pics, like, the site has nothing to do with bitcoin except for being the payment method, and it's sort of establishing that the only involvement girls have with btc is by way of naked pics, come on guys, you know we are better than that.

This is ridiculous.
You don't like dudes lying posing as chicks, yet you are asking me (a chick) to lie and start posing as a dude to avoid being called a lying scammer. WHAT?

There should be more girls around here... but anyways welcome

I agree, thanks llanillo! Smiley

This is the internet; there are sexist and racist and generally ignorant commentators everywhere,

Pot... meet kettle....

Take a look at these two recent threads, this one by user Supraman, and this one by user grumpyoldtroll (whose first word in his post is "Guys,"). Both are newbies, both are asking questions that have been asked a hundred times before that could easily have been answered by a web search, both are guys. They both got warm welcomes and/or informative responses.

Now take a look at this thread, with someone asking a question that hasn't been asked a hundred times before, but a girl, and the first couple of responses (hilariousandco and serje) were anything but warm, in fact I'd call them downright disgraceful.

As far as I'm concerned, anybody on this forum could be a scammer, and I'd never do business with anyone until being convinced otherwise. But it's completely inappropriate to throw up a red flag unless you have real concerns or evidence, and not just "but she's a girl! and lots of guys lie and scam pretending to be girls!" Even though I fully concede that statistics might support the latter, it's nonetheless perpetuating a sexist stereotype.

There are no personal attacks intended here... it just saddens me when people who are clearly a significant benefit to the Bitcoin community come forward with posts such as those above.

[/rant]

fabiola!, welcome to the forums.

Thanks so much btchris for sticking up for me! Finally someone nice on here! <3
Also, I think it was very smart of you to point out that anyone on this forum could be a scammer and not to make assumptions before evidence.
Thanks again!!!!! x

The post is a bit ironic. Most of the gamer girls on twitch already have a btc address for donations w. their paypal.  Cheesy

They actually prefer bitcoin since they dont want to pay taxes.

I know but I meant girls genuinely interested in Bitcoins (how it started, mining, trading, etc). I didn't mean girls who got a wallet set up for them and have no clue or interest on what Bitcoin actually is.

Whoa! Stereotyping much? Not all girls are bitwhores, OKKK??
I have 4 KNC miners + a cute butterfly on the way (hopefully 2, they haven't arrived yet).
Please be a bit more welcoming to girls, with this sort of harsh stereotyping going on it's no wonder I can't find any girls on here.

No not all girls are bitwhores, but the ones pretending to be female on here with the same usual tricks are. I've seen it all before. It's unfortunate but that's what people do on here. Out of the last ten users claiming to be female 9/10 of them have been men pretending to be girls. I also tend to think it's people like you that do the stereotyping. I mean, would a girl really go around referring to a bitcoin miner as 'cute'? I don't think they would, but someone pretending to be one will usually use words that they think will make them sound a bit more believable. Don't take it personally, but this place is full of scammers and there are certain things that will always arouse suspicion, and being a 'girl' is one of them.

Lol ok, for a start I call everything cute cause I'm a girly kind of girl! Plus, something named after a cute monarch butterfly, come on! Also, my miners are cute at night, turn off all the lights and the flashing lights are cute, you should try it and you'll see I'm right.
ps. when I said "bitwhores" I didn't mean for it to start catching on...
ps.2. I'm a girl I promise and I don't need any help or loans thank you, just want to be welcomed as an equal.

Fair enough, I get it, I'm reading the "I'm in love" thread right now.

Ps. Who the hell is King Vod and how do I get him to verify me as legit?

Hii!
Just wondering if there are any fellow girls on here who are into Bitcoin mining, trading, etc. It seems it's mainly guys. We are roughly 50% of the population of this planet yet I can't find any girls who are into Bitcoins, anywhere.

Everytime I try to mention Bitcoins while hanging out with girlfriends they always look confused and change the subject, yet they're not "dumb girls", they've been to Uni, spend a lot of time online, have paypal acc's, online banking, etc. Why are they so reluctant to hear about Bitcoins?

Let me see if I understand, Bitcoin needs people using it for it to work. That's genius! Wow, I learned two things this week. I also learned that in order for it to be really bright outside the sun needs to be up. Doesn't that just blow your mind?

Um.. the supermoon was really bright the other night. Sun wasn't up. Smiley xx

How can the public accept bitcoin? They dont even know what it is!

sad but true Sad
935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple & Bitcoin on: September 13, 2014, 08:15:18 PM
I disagree. If anything, Apple will create their own system. (If they already have one then disregard my second part of the post)

I was watching BBC's Click this afternoon and they made a big fuss about Apple's "innovative" e-payment system. Wow.
936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bikini Contest [BITKINI CONTEST] on: September 13, 2014, 08:04:33 PM
You could undoubtedly come up with all kinds of prize sub-categories as well:

1.) Smoothest looking QR code cheek
or
2.) Hottest girl with ugliest mining rig setup (assuming you can actually find any that mine :p)

I mine and I'm a girl! Smiley I agree with the guy who suggested this contest should include difficult questions about Bitcoin knowledge and so on, it needs to be Bitcoin related not just random bikini pics!
ps. I'm a girl in my 20's with some adorable geeky guy friends (in case u guys were wondering how I got into mining). x
