With all due respect, what planet are you living on that Television commercials are "old" to you? Are you serious? Do you know why they cost so much? Because they reach tens of millions of people, all at the same time, and they are effective.
Bitcoin has been nothing but "social media and memes" for the last 5 years and look where we are today with consumer adoption. ZILCH.
Nobody knows a damn thing about it *because* its just all of us circle jerking on YouTube and Discussion Forums.
The real advertisers advertise on television. Anyone who thinks advertising on youtube is more effective than a prime time television ad ... well ... holy crap how out of touch can you get?

I understand you point, but there are a growing number of people that just don't watch TV anymore. Well.... not traditional TV. They might have Apple TV or Netflix. I am kind of an outlier because of my position, but I stopped watching TV years ago. I think there are not many of us, but we are growing. But yes, definitely TV is still the best medium for advertisement. I think that might change in 10-20 years Unless you are advertising on something that is highly anticipated and will primarily be watched live, advertising on TV is not a good investment anymore. There are too many services that allow you to record TV shows and skip commercials, either systematically or manually. I think the circle will likely want to use word of mouth as much as they can to grow their user base as they have delayed their launch to the public to increase anticipation of their services redbull stratos was a live event that lasted hours of promotion and millions of viewers. the result was only a 3% growth of cans of redbull sold.. proof that TV is not as powerful as the 1990's. TV only works on the weak minded people like old grannies on the shopping channel and children on mtv. with that said coinbase is not advertising on shopping channels or normal prime TV channels. instead they know bitcoin is in the phase one innovation and investment stage, so right now they are talking to places like Bloomberg magazine. right now promotions should be aimed at merchants and investment, not everyday joe bloggs who will just get pissy that they cant use bitcoin at 7-11 or walmart or amazon.. much like the latest influx of noobs are doing right now in the last 6 months. bitcoin is not ready for the mad rush of noob average joes. they will all end up disappointed as they dont realise bitcoin is still in the innovation stage I get everyone's point on here, and I think you're all sort of right one way or another. Ads cost a lot, and maybe the world is not ready yet, alright. But would it hurt to come up with some ideas for Pr stunts? Many Pr stunts are praticallly free, so no need to appoint a fund manager. No risk at all. Come on, I'm sure you guys can think of a few random ideas? |

But Tv is still the best way to reach a wide audience. However, ads... they cost a lot of money, which we don't have. I was at a meetup yesterday and a girl was there I think day by day involvement of girls are increasing. What do you think? I don't really know because I only know of one girl who uses Bitcoin at all  Then again, I only know like 10 guys who use it. Well, I'm a girl so make it two : ) |

I think donations are a great idea in general, for everything and anything, not just for naked girls, like, that guy wore a bikini (if its him) and that deserves some kudos, dont you think?
I think the future of music and art could be linked to donations too. A way to show appreciation through donations.
Donating to girls in a bikini doesnt make any sense, just google bikini pics and you get tons of pics to look at.

Yea, I had the same idea, with the same name for a site, where they post for bitcoin. Similar to what was on reddit a while ago. Put a QR code on the bikini and people donate if they like it. To proof if it's really them, people on the site, can ask for a specific pose, as proof. A perfect opportunity to make some extra money, and you do not have to go nude or semi-nude. Have a age restriction, if you really want to protect under age people from doing this, but they pose on other platforms in any way, so nobody will be able to stop anyone from posting clothed pictures. Site moderators just delete any underage looking pictures, before they are posted on the site. Have a competition for men too, to make things fair to both sexes.  I think this was frowned on, when it was on reddit though.. but I think that was nude pictures. Lol, there are loads of bikini pics of me online already anyone can see for free, why would anyone pay to see the same thing? |

PR stunts are fame for 5 minutes.. take the PR stunt of redbull.. redbull stratos.. (skydive from space) then look at redbulls growth of business since then.. A total of 5.387 billion cans of Red Bull were sold worldwide in 2013, representing an increase of 3.1% against an already very successful 2012.
=3.1% increase. without any PR at all bitcoins market cap moves more than 3% a week as it is. It DOES make a difference. Sales increase do not equal AWARENESS. Plus, we don't need sales for btc, we need awareness, I'm a PR expert, I know what I'm talking about, trust me. Would you consider skydiving from space in a bitcoin logo suit? I would chip in for that : ) |

i think the doors are locked and their bank accounts are frozen, so no deliveries, no refunds until a court verdict is given. then id probably expect that you would need to verify your order with a trustee.
the chances of them being allowed to continue as they were and left to simply fix the issues themselves is long passed. they were warned months ago to start shipping on time or refund customers a few months ago (meaning they should have sent goods out or refunded customers within the first month of the warning.
so dont expect anything arriving at your door or bank account this week

This is an important factor that not all the BTC using people are tech people...so if we want to involve every types of people.... We need this sort of innovative ideas....
Innovative ideas is the only way forward, PR is so important, it can mark the beginning and/or the end of pretty much everything. I wiish there were more girls on here, we are really good at PR and coming up with innovative promoting ideas, Pr stunts, etc etc. |
