141  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening with Bitcoin? on: October 20, 2019, 07:42:57 AM
One must be a professional trader for you to be able to identify the bottom so that they can buy at the cheaper price and wait until its value reaches the height of the upword trend before placing a sell order.
Professional? I don't think so. You just need to have the basic qualities of someone who is a trader. You don't need to be a professional about it. You can be a professional artist and be a part-time trader at times and you can still trade as well as professionals without being one of them. Research and predictions are all that is needed when trading and well pretty much luck as well. No matter how extensive research is, sometimes it just doesn't go that way. Luck can be a huge factor to trading after all.

you need to have experience in this market to be able to successfully make profit. whether you do it as a job (a professional) or as a part time thing (as an amateur) doesn't make a difference. both of them require equal amount of experience.
"research" that you mentioned helps but only a very small amount. traders must actually trade and analyze the market themselves to gain experience. otherwise you'll end up filling your head with a lot of abstract theories that you don't know how to put to use.
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Propagating bitcoin among indigenous populace on: October 20, 2019, 07:25:02 AM
it is true that knowledge is power and educating others is going to provide a lot of benefits for them but the problem is that the "people" have to want to be educated first and want to gain that knowledge. otherwise if they are not even interested in bettering themselves and are only interested in gambling and making some profit from the market fluctuations then it doesn't do anybody any good.
for example you mentioned this place, you can see that most of the topics here and mostly in altcoin board is mostly about investing and making profit!
143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Gold, USD on: October 20, 2019, 07:16:36 AM
i don't think the problem is all about "what" is being used but rather in "how" it is being used.
in other words, despite what you may think, bitcoin may not change a thing if it is not used right. for example even if bitcoin were used instead of gold, it could still be used in a custodial form without leaving any traces on the blockchain. they could take everything off-chain and still be shady about it.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Before I Invest With Cryptoqurrency? on: October 17, 2019, 08:33:44 AM
it is only looking good on paper but in reality you either don't do any of the things you listed here or do something else thinking you are doing them. for example you already have 3 points for different "checks" but these checks require going through the source code and also using the coin and the clients itself. otherwise if you are simply checking the announcement topic and the website of the  coin and think you did the "checks" then you are only wasting your time.

146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China Creates Currency to Cancel-out Cryptocurrency on: October 17, 2019, 07:30:45 AM
China Creates Currency to Cancel-out Cryptocurrency
lol. that sentence doesn't even make sense.
they either have to create a better decentralized currency like bitcoin to "cancel" it out.
or they have to make a better pump and dump centralized shitcoin than altcoins to cancel them out.
they won't do either of these ever!

Quote
The Chinese government is on a mission to keep people dependent on government-controlled currency.
people are already dependent on "government-controlled currency". that currency is called fiat. and that is not going to change.

when governments issue their own cryptocurrency it has nothing to do with "cancelling out" anything. it is about wanting to use the newer technology that has come along and increase their security, control and earning power.
147  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Weekly Update: Range Highs Taken? What's next for BTC? on: October 17, 2019, 07:15:29 AM
once again we are in yet another sideways market and as price stays in this area it becomes increasingly difficult to predict which direction it will go in. if you ask me i don't see any reason for a drop specially since it was tried a couple of times and each time it failed to push the price any lower than this into smaller price levels. so we can expect to see $8k +- $300 for some time before the accumulation ends and the price can finally get back to normal levels.
148  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Cryptocurrency Exchanges on: October 17, 2019, 07:03:28 AM
I agree if binance and kucoin, the two exchanges are indeed the best and must in my opinion a trader has an account there,

"big" has never meant "best" among cryptocurrency exchanges. in fact in most cases it has meant the exact opposite meaning the big exchanges are always the worst. because as they are earning a lot more money and have a lot of power they stop caring about their users, they don't provide any good support, their servers go down during massive pumps and you lose a lot of money in these scenarios. and on top of that they are always the biggest targets for hacks and that is only if they don't scam you themselves!
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC TO 35K$ IN 2020 on: October 17, 2019, 06:54:42 AM
$35k is simply too low for 2020 price target.

there are lots of reasons for the price to have big rallies in 2020. starting from the fact that we have block reward halving in 2020 which itself will bring a lot of speculation and hype to the market and gives confidence to all the investors who are currently scared of entering the market because of all the dumps and manipulations.
2020 will also be 2+ years after the previous bubble. 2017 ended with the bubble, 2018 was the pop and the extremely long bear market. 2019 was the recovery to go back to normal prices (aka $10k) and 2020 will be the rise.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the first IEO-STO hybrid - Security Token Exchange Offer on: October 16, 2019, 03:41:47 PM
haha, it doesn't matter how many times the name changes or how many letters in that abbreviation is. in the end the product is the same shitty useless token that is not used at all for anything except fund raising and scamming newbies.
in fact that is the main reason why the subsequent scams called STO and then IEOs couldn't live any longer than a couple of months unlike the original scam ICO that lasted for over a year. each name change only sustains the scam for a shorter and shorter time.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm a Big Fan of Bitcoin, Libra's Chief David Marcus Says on: October 16, 2019, 03:19:27 PM
haha, i am loving the shitshow known as Libra so much lately. this last one is the funniest of all.
basically when Libra started they never even remotely mentioned the starter of all this and the biggest (by far) cryptocrurency, bitcoin. not on their website introducing Libra, not in their talks, not anywhere else.
people kept comparing them like idiots but the owners never did mention it.

now that it is falling apart, and every one of their partners (specially the big ones) are pulling out they are desperately seeking attention and are doing what all the shitcoins do: stick themselves to bitcoin to try and get some hype in name only.
152  Economy / Speculation / Re: [2019-10-13] Fun Fact: Bitcoin Price is Up 838,000,000% in Ten Years’ Time on: October 16, 2019, 03:06:16 PM
And bitcoin price is up ∞ (infinite) % percent since it's actual birth Tongue

that's exactly what I was writing just now in my post!
And of course, all cryptocurrencies had infinity percentage gains in their exchange rates. although not all had infinity percent losses Cheesy

well if we think like that then price of anything you can think of has gone up infinite percentage since they never existed before they were created!
but usually these percentages are calculated from actual market value of the asset, and the "closing price" is used. meaning the price where the market closed with not the 0 that it started from. in which case you can find the first market data for the first day of trading and see what the price was and then calculate the percentage.
153  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: October 16, 2019, 02:48:13 PM

Just troll the lottery winners history and you will see several players that won the Lottery with much less tickets than 500.  Roll Eyes  Be careful not to create a expectation with people that they would have a better chance of winning, if they have 500+ tickets, because the odds are still very much against them with that amount of tickets.  Wink

I have a weird feeling that we are running circles here.

The problem is, there are thousands of those lottery participants 50-500 tickets and only one of them wins the lottery

Winning with 500 tickets is indeed not impossible for SOMEBODY. It is nearly impossible, FOR YOU. (Assuming you only control 1 account with 500 tickets Wink)

but in order to do that they would have to claim the free coins from the faucet on the hour every hour and gain that much on all the accounts. from what i've seen people who do this are always caught sooner or later. specially since they have been improving their multi-account-catcher system Smiley
so i don't think there are that many who are winning the lottery through having multiple accounts.
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright as "Bitcoin creator" at a conference in London!!! WTF??? on: October 16, 2019, 02:34:57 PM
I was sure that after the lost court case, where he was called a total liar by the judge, he will hide somewhere and just can't believe he starts again to sign his stupid story and many people involved in crypto actually help him, as the organizers of this thing in London. Will he ever stop or keep continue no matter what?

did you? i didn't expect anything else from him even for a second. that is in his nature to continue scamming with audacity. this is not the first time he is publicly being embarrassed. the biggest one (even bigger than the  court thing) was the first days he made the claim and tried to forge a digital  signature and was caught. and that was 2 years ago (maybe more i can't remember how long he has been scamming Cheesy)
155  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: USER FORGETS BITCOIN WALLET PASSWORD, FUND TRAPPED. NEED HELP. on: October 16, 2019, 02:20:26 PM
nobody can recover such wallets except the user himself and by having their email address, account ID, password, or recovery ID. and it can only be done through the blockchain.com website itself. "you" as a third party can not help him at all and be careful what you download there is a lot of scams going on these days where they pretend to be a damsel in distress and give you an infected file to steal "your" coins!
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Next Big Thing in Crypto: Using Inflation to Create Stablecoin on: October 15, 2019, 06:24:56 AM

Cryptocurrency has started and become successful by embracing Austrian Economics. Bitcoin’s limited supply means every person on planet Earth can only own a small fraction of a bitcoin. When Bitcoin reward reaches 0 around year 2140, there will be no coin. If there is still demand for Bitcoin, its price will be: buyer demand / supply = infinite.

actually bitcoin's limited supply is not about its price and the deflationary characteristic that it creates is more of a side product rather than being the main thing.
the real reason for a limited supply, as the name suggests, is to keep the supply "limited" or in other words in check. so that (unlike fiat) it can not be printed out of thin air and every time someone wishes! that keeps a clear plan and expected outlook for the supply.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi wasn’t created by blockchain on: October 15, 2019, 06:01:48 AM
Don't know what your beef is OP but satoshi never claimed to create blockchain, and all the information you already shared is known by all.

i wouldn't be so sure about that!
every now and then someone starts a new topic calling bitcoin the "first" and then clamming it is only successful only because it i was first. that proves people have no idea about the bitcoin's pre-history and the other attempts at creating similar things at a much smaller scale.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paper wallets on: October 14, 2019, 08:55:49 AM
Bitaddress is relatively trusted, but it doesn't currently support segwit. There is an offline segwit address generator. You can test these individually.

tools such as "bitaddress" could be viewed as a "private key generator" rather than "address generators". which that distinction they already support any type of script you want to create from your public key. all you have to do is to generate the private key, get the public key of it then convert that into a SegWit address. you can do the last step using any other tool because it is not security-important. it is a simple matter of hashing the compressed public key and putting a 0 before the hash and encoding it with bech32.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE reaches 30sats! Do you think it could go higher now? on: October 14, 2019, 08:39:47 AM
these things aren't bull runs, they are pumps due to some sort of hype (being listed on some exchange in this case) and because of that it is impossible to predict whether the pump can go on any longer because a pump by nature is an unpredictable trend.

if it is already listed on that new exchange the pump should be considered already over but if it is not yet listed and considering the fact that this rise was only about 10% (from 28 to 31 satoshi) it could get pumped more.
160  Economy / Speculation / Re: What you expect about next move of bitcoin? on: October 14, 2019, 08:17:40 AM
There are two kinds of Bitcoin investors.
Holders who keep their money in Bitcoin and don't worry about the future. Most of them are strong bulls with a very positive attitude.
Bears who always wait for lower prices and almost never buy in. When it drops from 14k to 8k they still say it's not enough and wait for 6k, but when 6k comes they'll wait for 5k.

that is not a right categorization in my opinion. and the definitions aren't  great either.
someone who buys and holds is an investor, there isn't any subtype to investors. bulls and bears are for traders that are actively participating in the market. they buy and sell (doing both not just one) the difference is that bulls expect price to rise, bears expect the price to drop.
anybody who keeps expecting and never buys in, is not even an investors nor a trader nor a bull nor a bear. it is just an observer Smiley
