1121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Milk, eggs, bread and bitcoins? on: January 20, 2019, 07:52:33 AM
Do you think people who own Bitcoin will pay for their daily purchases? Everyone remembers that pizza was worth 10,000 bitcoins, now it would be a huge fortune.

what i believe is that people have already been doing that for a long time whenever possible. not everyone is in it for the profit and not everyone is going to just sell to get the profit out. what that second part means is that if you check out the merchant stats in 2017 you can see that we didn't just have a price ATH, we also had a merchant stats ATH where they had their most number of customers spending their bitcoins in their business to get that "profit" out.
1122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware/Paper Long-Term Security for Cold Storage on: January 20, 2019, 07:44:24 AM
here is how i would suggest you choose what to do:
1. first decide whether it is wise to store them for long term since majority of altcoins won't even live that long. and all of them are dumping in long term.
i personally don't have faith in most altcoin's long term potential and because of that i wouldn't bother with holding any and so i don't need a cold storage or even a wallet for that matter. i keep on exchanges because i want to dump as fast as possible then cash out bitcoin to my cold storage.

2. decide how many times and how fast you want to access your coins.
if you want to be an active trader who wants to be able to dump his coins at a moment's notice then you can't use paper wallet. you kind of forced to use a hardware wallet. but if you want to store them and not touch them for years and then just encash once then paper wallet is a good option.
1123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Super speculative investment on: January 20, 2019, 07:35:30 AM
If I wanted to spend a little bit on something very speculative any suggestions? I’m talking boom or bust.

go to a dice site, deposit the money you wanted to invest and set the chance on something you like (such as 50% chance) and then click roll.
you will have a much better chance of "doubling" your money this way compared to if YOU enter the altcoin market and buy an altcoin trying to "double" your money!

why? simply because to enter trading and be successful requires experience and for starters you shouldn't be asking others about what you should buy! you should already be able to answer that yourself. if not then you are not trading you are instead gambling with very low odds of winning.
1124  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chinese New Year 2019 on: January 20, 2019, 07:20:27 AM
I think that during the Chinese New Year there will be a growth in cryptocurrency. I think the Chinese New Year will be the start for a new bullish rally.
I remember last year, many speculation appears during the season and many says Chinese needs money so they can celebrate and that cause the market to go deeper. I think there will be no major growth simply because of Chinese new year, we need a strong news and not this kind of celeberation to make the price go up again.

it has never only bee last year and not even only Chinese new year Cheesy

they do it every time there is any kind of holiday. with obvious cases like Christmas and Chinese new year being the most popular among them. and the logic is always the same flawed one but for some reason these people still stick to it and so far in the past 5 years that i have been in this community i have seen them only be on point for 10% of cases which means it was purely coincidental.
1125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin will pump like crazy on: January 20, 2019, 07:13:27 AM
all these "Bakkt, ETF,..." are only background noise when bitcoin's future growth is concerned. some of them are not even contributing to anything specially adoption. for example i seriously doubt that ETF is going to do much about bitcoin adoption in real world. it will only introduce an "option" for "certain" people to enter trading bitcoin without actually trading bitcoin!!!

with that said, the effects of them should always be secondary. meaning price can rise with or without them then if they exist as a positive thing we can see a bigger rise.
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin the survival of the fittest on: January 20, 2019, 07:04:15 AM
when you set out to change the world you must expect a lot of resistance specially from those who feel threatened by you. and that is what bitcoin has been doing. it was create to change the world and since this world is also linked with money it has been threatening a lot of big people with a lot of power including banks which is why there has been a lot of attacks against bitcoin and a lot of roadblocks against the adoption of it. but the adoption is still growing despite all that because bitcoin is useful. and that is why it is "surviving".
1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT WHEN EVALUATING A CRYPTO PROJECT on: January 17, 2019, 03:30:41 PM
What do you look at?
in one word: innovation.
that is mostly because i am sick and tired of all the copy coins that don't introduce anything new and keep repeating the same ideas that were introduced years ago by their ancestors.
additionally that innovation has to be implemented well enough because sometimes people take a very interesting idea or innovation and ruin it by a terrible implementation.

Quote
What a project needs to have for you to invest on it?
that is a different question in my opinion.
i only look for shitcoins that are more pumpable. because i want profit when i invest and good altcoin projects don't give as much profit.
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STO vs ICO on: January 17, 2019, 03:22:28 PM
maybe it is just me but i don't care about the definitions, i care about what they really do. people say the STOs are regulated so they are safer but i say there is no regulation, and SEC doesn't even approve of cryptocurrencies in general let alone regulate anything related to them. even if they were, they still remain useless because they are not doing anything. we have a bunch of tokens that keep being created that do literary nothing and regulation is not going to change that. so in the end there is no difference between STO and ICO apart from the name.
1129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE BALL IS IN YOUR COURT on: January 17, 2019, 03:14:23 PM
I for six months earned about $ 300. At the same time I led a huge number of bounty and spent my personal time. Sadly

in other words you wasted your time. earning about $1 a day is not something worth pursuing in my opinion. specially when in this market the opportunity to make $1000 per day exists while trading the pump and dumps shitcoins.
i am not saying you should do that but it is always a matter of valuing your time. if you did anything else, like washing dishes in a fast food shop you would have earned a lot more.
1130  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices are being settled to explode ? on: January 17, 2019, 02:49:47 PM
you can't make the conclusion of an upcoming rise only based on the fact that price has been stable for a while. you should add other factors in then make that conclusion. for example the fact that this price is currently at the bottom of a 85% drop. the fact that price has been falling for more than year, and also the fact that the fall below $6k was the product of BCH fork attack and panic sell not normal circumstances.
1131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Constantinople Hard fork to be delayed on: January 16, 2019, 09:24:46 AM
a big fall of ETH is incoming after big whales smell fear on investors (the little left).

This is no good news for investors.Probably good for trully believer miners.  But for a guy like me, that wants this market destroyed to ashes, this is actually good news.

This will imply more coins on the market. The more coins, the less value. GG ETH. Game over.

UPDATE: I had not seen the value of ETH. It's dropping a 7% right now. Hope it goes to 0. all the coins. This manipulated market should die, and erase the manipulators from the earth. If people cannot play the game, the game should be destroyed.

2nd UPDATE: ETH will be punished with this fork. a 51% attack will be possible once almost 80% of miners quit. GG ETH devs.

well ETH is a pump AND dump coin so you can't really complain when they dump it. with every pump there will be a dump and recently they used the fork hype to pump it a little, granted it was a failure but it was still a pump and needed a dump. it is Yin and Yang not Yin alone!

as for its death,  it won't happen anytime soon because centralized altcoins are more powerful than regular shitcoins and can stay alive a much longer time.

as for the 51% attack, it won't happen on the PoS chain because there is no 51% on PoS algorithm. there are however other attack surfaces being introduced with this fork.
1132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Can A Cryptopia Exchange Got Hacked Simple Like that ? on: January 16, 2019, 08:57:11 AM
Do you Think Cryptopia Was hacked Or They are just Trying To  Run Away with peoples money  !!

it is impossible to answer this question to be honest. and not just for Cryptopia but generally for any other exchange that gets hacked like this. there is always a good chance that when some exchange claims they were hacked, they would be lying and there were no hack to begin with. there isn't truly any investigation to clarify that either.
sometimes the chances are more when the exchange had some problems prior to the hack because we see them having the incentive to run away. and in case of this exchange they started showing some red flags a while ago so it is possible.
1133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Now The Time To Buy Quality Projects? on: January 16, 2019, 08:41:40 AM
if you find a "quality project" then ANY TIME is a good time to buy it. the problem is that there are no quality projects anymore. all we have are shitcoins that get pumped and dumped. and sadly if someone attempts creating a good one, it will be buried under shitcoins!

1134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats makes bitcoin Price Drop ? on: January 16, 2019, 08:29:45 AM
price of everything is determined based on supply and demand but determining the resulting price is nowhere near as simple as you think it is. there are a lot of other factors that come into play not to mention that the price is being determined in a place called "exchange" like Coinbase, Bitstamp, Kraken, Bitfines. and these places are pretty small, meaning the order books consist of small number of bids and asks which makes it susceptible to manipulation by anyone with a large amount of money and also susceptible to big swings in case of a surge of buys or sells. the result is a price that sometimes swings wildly and goes above or goes below the intrinsic value of it.
1135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin [BTC]’s Lightning Network capacity is now worth over $2 million on: January 16, 2019, 08:18:01 AM
Nice numbers and nice graphs. But I see no info about how much BTC was actually moved around in these channels. I mean, it would be nice to see on what scale do people actively use LN, not just check it once "because it's cool".

However, it's good to see it's growing.

people don't just put money in their Lightning Channels for fun, they put it there to make transactions and there are some big channels that have done it to support the network and process more transactions.
however i don't know how you can count how many transactions have taken place in this network, if at all possible to count. but you can check out some of the stats some of the merchants released. for example i remember the bitrefil saying they reached 1BTC payment about 6 or 7 months ago. haven't checked for updates though.
1136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lots of doubt on on: January 16, 2019, 08:13:41 AM
the only people who doubt bitcoin only based on the recent price drops are those who are considered weak hands and these people are only in bitcoin for a short time wanting to make some quick profit and become rich over night. such people don't matter in the long  term of bitcoin and in fact they need to exit the market before the price can start rising. so if you see them more these days it is a good sign because it shows they are making their exit slowly.
1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IS This the Longest Bull Run For an Altcoin in 2018 ? on: January 15, 2019, 07:26:48 AM
if you stop reporting the USD values of it you can see that it is one of the most common ways of pumping a dead shitcoin. it is basically a useless thing that was worth less than 1 satoshi and got pumped to about 100-150 satoshi and it is not only one of the most common pumps but also one of the easiest pumps that is occurring every single day in the altcoin market specially since the volume was less than $1000 and most times it was around $30!

sometimes these things aren't even considered "pumps" because of their lack of liquidity. basically one person can pump it more than 10000% by spending so little!
1138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The End All Coin on: January 15, 2019, 06:44:07 AM
So what would the perfect coin look like? What sort of technology, abilities, and specs would the perfect coin have to have to overthrow Bitcoin and all others and be the only crypto currency we could ever need?

the problem is in the bold part! because simply that is a childish way of thinking and it has so far led to creation of hundreds of shitcoins with fake claims of "overthrowing bitcoin" that fooled people like you who think this way into giving them their money and become rich from them.

think of it this way, when a company starts (like Samsung) they don't think about overthrowing other companies (like Apple). instead they think about offering a product that is better and offers competitive features and has a competitive price. that is how they grow.
but unfortunately people try to create a shitcoin then when they see they can't catch up to something as useful as bitcoin they try to cry about it and attempt at pulling bitcoin down and in that process they burn to the ground themselves...
1139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunters should remain united on: January 15, 2019, 06:28:13 AM
when the market is filled with hundreds of newbies who are desperate to make some money, they will be abused because now even if a project is clearly a scam they will still gain advertisers. for example you can check out some of the scam signature campaigns that come up from time to time. people no longer force the starter to escrow the funds, you see a clear scam sig topic grow to 10 pages of newbies applying because they "hope" to earn some thing desperately.
and nothing can be done about it unless you find a way to flush this forum from newbies that are like that!
1140  Economy / Speculation / Re: The American doomsday by Tom Lee on: January 15, 2019, 06:13:17 AM
but SEC has not been rejecting ETFs for nearly 2 years (maybe more) because of lack of interest to want to approve of them in case interest from "big investors" peaked! they were and still are rejecting ETFs based on same reasons such as the un-regulated state of bitcoin market, the high unrealistic volatility of it, the manipulation that exists in this market, and a lot more and none of those reasons are going to go away if S&P tanks!
