1041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Received 0.00000546 BTC in your Wallet | Bitcoin Attack on: February 12, 2019, 07:50:47 AM
Dusting Attack is only profitable on the wallets with huge number of funds.

If an individual person holds large amount of Bitcoin in a wallet it is truly unsafe as the best way to save large number of funds in a secure way is a hardware wallet.

Using a hardware wallet can solve this problem at some extended for individual owner but its still a problem for the wallets working under a crypto company which has thousands of Bitcoin saved in a signal wallet.

You can check this thread to get some important info on how the attack is made and how can we prevent it. Also we can concluded that this is already happing from long time.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=282238.0

you use words such as "profitable" and "unsafe",... which don't make any sense here because this has nothing to do with security. your coins are not at risk and it doesn't make a difference if you are using a hot wallet or a cold wallet or a hardware wallet. you will be affected the same way.

they are just sending you money and if you spend it by mixing it with multiple other transaction outputs from your other addresses, that links them together so the only way this can be an "attack" is if they are trying to do blockchain analysis and that makes it an attack against privacy not security. and there is no profit in it! unless it is a a blockchain analysis company getting paid by government to do this.
1042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: :-> Bitcoin are helping to reduce global debt. :-> on: February 12, 2019, 07:45:33 AM
the real question is whether banks are actually doing that instead of everything being virtual. what you said here is only going to work if banks are honest and are operating with a zero sum game. otherwise if they are lending more money than they actually have then people pulling out their fiat from banks isn't going to change that. they will still continue lending the same amount if not more.
1043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What can be done with those who think Crypto is just a get rich quick scheme? on: February 10, 2019, 08:39:39 AM
then stop making shitcoins that are only good for pump and dumps!
it is  like opening up a restaurant and then ask what can you do to prevent people from ordering food! that is what a restaurant is for, people go there, order food and eat.
and that is what pump and dump altcoins are for. people buy them to pump and get rich quick. some people forget it sometimes and become bag holders and lose money otherwise that is the original purpose. specially when it comes to ICOs which are completely useless and people only use them as a form of gambling to see if they can win and hit the jackpot of profit.

IMO Bitcoin is worth no more than $300 and it will even out at so in the future.
something that is overvalued can not stay overvalued. it will go down.
so if bitcoin was overvalued by more than $3000 then it would have already gone down instead of growing more and more every day.
what you are missing is the fact that bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency that is actually being used in the world apart from being only used in exchanges by traders.
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The "When Moon and Dump" Story on: February 10, 2019, 08:24:56 AM
that story is not just about ICOs but about majority of the projects that you see among altcoins.  the only difference is that the ICO scammers take the money before hand and become rich then also dump their own tokens and become more rich. while altcoin creators have to wait for the listing to dump the coins they premined or pump it to make some money.
that is why things like ICO, STO,... are becoming popular among scammers.

in the end when something is useless, it won't gain any value in the long run. all you can expect out of them is manipulation and pump and dump profit. so it is best to see them for what they really are instead of being fooled by the advertisement.
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Everyone agrees that bitcoin rise will help the all crypto currencies to rise? on: February 10, 2019, 08:14:58 AM
no that is a false mentality that people had. here is what happens in reality.

when bitcoin rises, all altcons have to do is to remain the same price so that their stats on coinmarketcap show rise! this is fake as hell.
for example imagine a shitcoin that is worth 0.03BTC. if bitcoin is worth $3400 that altcoin's value on coinmarketcap is shown as $102. now when bitcoin rises from $3400 to $3700 that altcoin remains at 0.03BTC but coinmarketcap.com shows that it has increased up to $111

in reality that $9 or 8.8% was not an actual rise of that altcoin, it is only the rise that BITCOIN had!
that is why people think whenever bitcoin rises altcoins rise too. which is false.

of course lets not confuse the overall bull market with what i just explained. whenever bitcoin is in bull mode, there is a lot of money coming in the market as a whole. a big part of it is also then invested in altcoins (because bitcoin investors want a way to also invest their bitcoins to increase them) so altcons get pumped more during bitcoin bull runs.
1046  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL: Did we hit the bottom? on: February 10, 2019, 08:03:55 AM
in this surge we saw a very small example of how the FOMO buy is going to look like so it doesn't matter if they think we haven't hit the bottom, as soon as the rise begins they do a FOMO and price can shoot up to $10k!!!

That's not necessarily so

And while it certainly sounds plausible, if we take a closer look at bigger timeframes, it doesn't always work like that (it may not even look like that in the recent surge). For example, if people have been suffering heavy losses for long months (say, since January 2018), they may be inclined to sell at these surges and call it a day for good, not buy more. Maybe, this is the next step in the development of a typical long-term bagholder who is so tired of waiting that he doesn't care anymore and wants to drop his bags at the next stop, so to speak

that is definitely what is going to happen when the rise starts. that is why the initial rises are always slower and with a lot of tracebacks. because there are a lot of people who are still in the previous trend's mentality and think it is still bear market and they have to sell.

BUT that is not what i am talking about. i am talking about the total market, as in the sum of forces, some sell, some buy. during the FOMO times when people see the rise, there will be more buying than those who sell hence the overall sharp rise.
what we had recently was just a small taste of what we are going to have in the future.
1047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Dominance and Bitcoin Meme on: February 10, 2019, 07:55:38 AM
I think it's much better if we go back below 40%, the higher the dominace of BTC the more the entire market looks gloomy.
since market capitalization is a meaningless characteristic, it doesn't matter if it is 99.999% or if it goes down to 40% or even 0.0001%
in the end that percentage which newbies falsely call  "dominance" is not actually dominance. it only shows there is an inflation going in the altcoin world since it is super easy to create market cap with a click!!!

Quote
I'm actually missing the season where altcoins has a say in the market, now even good altcoins looks like a shitty coin because BTC
can anytime strike them down if it has a significant movement.
the altcoins don't look shitty be cause of bitcoin, they look shitty because they ARE shitty.
1048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't fell for FUD. Stand your ground bitcoiners! on: February 10, 2019, 07:46:08 AM
it is a pretty common thing to call bitcoin dead whenever price has fallen down, and this trend increases the closer we get to the bottom. also whenever price is stable like nowadays the idiot traders who think profit is only in their day trading with 1% profit, start spreading FUD because they want the volatility to continue.

in the end bitcoin is still bitcoin. the same decentralized currency that has always been if not stronger  now compare to before.

i would also like to point out that newcomers shouldn't buy bitcoin to make profit, they should covert their centralized fiat to decentralized bitcoin if they want to benefit from this unique money that we have here.
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which is better to burn tokens every year or dividends every year? on: February 09, 2019, 07:06:04 AM
which one is more reliable to increase prices

none of them.
price only rises under two circumstances: 1. with pumps 2. with adoption.
the pumps are obviously what has been happening to altcoins and tokens but they are not sustainable, eventually the dump comes and prices go back down to initial value and lower than that.

the only way to increase the price is by adoption and for that the coin has to have use cases in the real world otherwise it doesn't matter how much tokens you burn or do whatever else, the coin is doomed to die.
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's going on [BNB] Binance Coin. +14% up on: February 09, 2019, 06:57:04 AM
Just checked it. It already trading at about 8 dollars. Wonder what caused this?
BNB is not so called sitcom. It is a cryptocurrency with fair use case. I believe the coin will also be used on their decentralized exchanges. It is worth buying at a low price.

the only use case of it is on their platform as some sort of reward system, so i wouldn't call it a "use case" exactly. unless i am missing something. even if it is used on their decentralized exchange as long as you can't use it elsewhere and withdraw,... it is not useful

as for the price, like any other altcoin BNB also gets pumped and dumped. so its rise isn't really surprising.
1051  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL: Did we hit the bottom? on: February 09, 2019, 06:43:35 AM
in this kind of market that the price are playing around 3400$ for a long period of time, I guess this is already the bottom of the bearish market but we dont know when we will experience again the bull market.

we cant exactly tell when will we gonna hit the bottom.
the game is not over yet. though we are in the green market for the past few hours, its not enough to conclude that we are out of the dip

true, but the recent surge proved once again that asking this types of questions to get the feeling of what investors are thinking is always going to give you false information. investors in bitcoin market are always either greedy or panicking and they change their direction in a blinking of an eye if they see the market moving in a different direction.
in this surge we saw a very small example of how the FOMO buy is going to look like so it doesn't matter if they think we haven't hit the bottom, as soon as the rise begins they do a FOMO and price can shoot up to $10k!!!
1052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: another bearish sign? CCN evolves towards a standard stock market website on: February 09, 2019, 06:36:36 AM
if the bullshit that sites such as CCN publish were a "sign" of market movement then price should have shooted up and down at least twice a week since they publish different crap depending on  the moods of that day and whether they can find a good clickbaity article that day or not.

the fact that they are putting other things on their website is because they want to maximize their traffic as much as they can so that they can make the most amount of money. it has nothing to do with the market, signals or which way bitcoin is going to go!
only newbies look at news sites for market direction Wink
1053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ICO Dying ? on: February 07, 2019, 07:39:45 AM
ICOs died more than a year ago, what you see nowadays is just newbies who didn't get the memo so they still think the market is as gullible as before so they continue creating their useless ICOs and try to scam people with it.
nowadays those who got the memo are switching to STO and are trying to scam people under a different mask and some of them are even succeeding at that  but STOs are also nearly dead because they are the same as ICO and just as bad.
1054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Please let's halt the Madness of Everyday New Cryptocurrency Release on: February 07, 2019, 07:05:41 AM
i think it is a good thing. the altcoin market needs to be filled with shit until it overflows so that maybe that way people start realizing that what they have been buying has been "shitcoins" not actual cryptocurrencies that they promise to be.
and as soon as people realize that, they will stop giving their money to these shitcoins and that means it becomes unprofitable to create them anymore, so they naturally stop.

you see, until that point people are going to continue investing in ICOs, buy shitcoins,... and that gives the creators profit so they will continue.
1055  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your new entry point? on: February 07, 2019, 06:52:46 AM
your fault is that you think there is some sort of "consensus" when it comes to market and if people say some value, or vote on your poll then they are really aiming for that price but the reality is a lot different from that.
many people around here are greedy and are waiting for the drop to happen before they buy, but the problem with greedy people is that their greed doesn't just go away because of a drop. it stays because it is their personality. so if price drops to $2700 they won't buy, they wait for $2500 and if it drops to that they wait for $2000 and so on.
these people don't shape the market though. they are irrelevant because their participation in the market is only when the price has started rising and has gone up already, then they panic buy.
1056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Indian government is worried that cryptocurrencies may destabilise the rupee on: February 07, 2019, 06:43:40 AM
The ones who are scared of change are the ones who are benefiting from the current system a lot[/a]. Not that I'm telling that the Indian officials are engaged into money laundering and such activities, but seeing other countries doing good in terms of welcoming cryptocurrencies, I can see no major problem in making these cryptocurrencies legal at all. If anything, they can prevent money laundering and fraud if they have the right regulatory framework to work with, but they are so scared of diving deeper causing them even more worries and anxieties because they aren't ready to make a definite move.

It is ok to say it. The Indian people themselves know how corrupt their own government officials are. Every person in the cryptospace knows.

that is exactly why Indians have been buying bitcoin nonstop for over 2 years now, even with all the roadblocks that their corrupted banks have been placing in front of them to try and prevent their people from buying bitcoin. if you check out last prices in India you can see that at some point during 2017 they were buying bitcoin about 30-40% above the global (USD) market value.
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Be The Native Cryptocurrency, Says Twitter CEO on: February 07, 2019, 06:35:43 AM
that statement is somewhat restricting bitcoin to the "internet" while bitcoin is not just an online currency but you can also use it as a currency in physical stores granted you still have to use the internet to broadcast the transaction but nowadays everything including banks are using the internet so you can't call that "internet money".
1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you already own some GRIN privacy coins? on: February 06, 2019, 08:09:19 AM
it is not a good investment so no i don't own any. it is also over hyped which makes it even a worse investment since we all know that hype never lasts and when it vanishes the dump is going to be severe. but as a technology is certainly has a lot of interesting things to offer. specially the way it is introducing privacy into its infrastructure is a very interesting one. i am certainly watching it and have plans on going through the code at a more technical level and understand how it really works as soon as i get the time.
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The influence of Ethereum hardfork its marketcap. on: February 06, 2019, 07:59:56 AM
The Ethereum constantinople hard fork won't create a new coin except Ethereum and it's an upgrade including the following EIPs:

that is not up to the fork itself and not up to the EIPs.
the result of a fork is decided by the network. if a part of the network decides they want to "upgrade" and the other part decides they want to do another "upgrade" and another part decides to ignore all "upgrades" we will end up with 3 different coins no matter what the fork was, even soft forks can end up with a chain split if a part of the network decides the rules activated by the soft fork is not what they want.
this here is a hard fork so the chances of a split is even higher.
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Centralized and Decentralized Exchanges on: February 06, 2019, 07:47:33 AM
the biggest problem with decentralized exchanges is their lack of adoption. if more people started using them then most of the rest of the problems that you mentioned here would be solved. for example their security would improve as bugs are found and fixed, the liquidity will increase and it becomes easier to trade larger amounts and also the features will start improving as people use them and report their requests and improve the open source projects (assuming we are talking about an open source decentralized exchange platform).
