21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin To Buy Now? on: November 12, 2021, 12:50:05 PM
I think that the best altcoin to invest now is Polkadot.  It will be the most trendy altcoin in the end of 2021 and until it completely launches. Its price will be around 60$ in short term.Maintaining positive mood in the crypto market in general will contribute to an increasing in demand and interest in DOT, taking into account the large number of serious and large partners and projects that want to have a slot in the blockchain auction.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Don't want to kill ‘beautiful’ Ethereum on: November 12, 2021, 12:42:38 PM
There were a lot of blockchains that claimed that they would overtake Ethereum. Nevertheless it is still number one. There are a lot of alternatives that have advantage over Ethereum in price and speed, but Ethereum still keeps its high position. What is more, I think that when ethereum 2.0. launches, it will become much cheaper and as a result, people will continue using it actively.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a token on Bsc that isn' t a scam? on: November 11, 2021, 03:49:51 AM
The only token I invest on my own on Binance Smart chain is cake (the token of Pancake swap). It is a defi-project that performs many functions. There is exchange, yield farming, staking, IFO, lotteries and NFT-marketplace. I think that it is the only worthy project now. There are so many scams because it is very easy and cheap to launch your own token, so scammers try to catch the wave of hype and make money on newbies.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Making money while gaming on: November 11, 2021, 03:45:08 AM
It is reasonable for gaming companies to adopt crypto games as it is a new trend. Gamers are really interested in them as it is a great thing when you can make money on your hobby. I was surprised when Valve (management company of Steam) rejected crypto on its platform. They will just lose their domination I think. There are companies that don't lag behind the time such as Sony and Ubisoft and it is great.

26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Billionaire Investor call for crypto regulation on: September 14, 2021, 03:15:28 AM
Algorithmic stablecoins are still very risky and have many problems to be solved. Not all stablecoins have dollar bail like Tether. Algorithmics just don’t have it. Their stability depends on people's trust and confidence in this stablecoin. There are many bad examples of how algorithmic stablecoins collapse, so personally I prefer to stay away from them. But investors shouldn’t accuse somebody of their losses. If you want to invest in something you should learn first, how it works and what risks it has.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are people still using DeFi on Eth? on: September 14, 2021, 03:05:12 AM
What do you think about DeFi on ethereum at the end of 2021? It doesn't seem to you that this is an absolutely bottomless pit living your money on transactions (unless you are a millionaire, of course)
Heard about DeFi on Solana or Near? When will such blockchains completely replace the losing Ethereum Network?

I also prefer some alternative blockchains or layers 2 to Ethereum. I invest in Defis only on Polygon and BSC, as commissions are much smaller on these nets and faster than on Ethereum. It is not completely clear for me why all people don’t switch to alternative variants, maybe, it seems to them too difficult to learn how to use bridges, how other blockchains work, so they just stay on Ethereum.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Not all altcoins will recover on: September 13, 2021, 03:43:11 AM
You are right that not altcoins are likely to survive the dip. Only coins with innovative ideas and really popular with people will survive in the future. If you want to invest in some shit coins, meme coins or any other altcoins that are not in the top-100, be ready to follow them and sell off when the market shows negative movements.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which Coins are a great LONG-TERM investment ???? on: September 13, 2021, 03:39:05 AM
Hey folks,

what do you think, which tokens are a great investment for 5-10 years?

All people tend to speculate on short-term moves but I am more interested in tokens that will go up x times over the next couple of years...

so to say, the Amazons and Googles of the crypto world.

Which coins are REALLY GROUNDBREAKING in your eyes and why?

I mean Bitcoin started the whole thing but technically there are so much better, safer, faster, more anonymous coins that should take over in the long run.

Please share your opinions

You are right that there are many altcoins that overtake Bitcoin in price of transaction fees, speedness, anonymity, but Bitcoin is still number one. It is the most decentralised one, so don't write it off.
Personally I think that coins such as BNB, Matic, Tron, Solana and Polkadot are really good for the long-term, so investigate them.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are Defi Projects? on: September 13, 2021, 03:34:29 AM
My question is what is a defi project. One of my crypto friend was telling me to buy tokens with slippage, what is a slippage and what are some good defi or slippage projects ongoing to invest,
Thank you for the help

There are just decentralised applications and platforms. Talking about slippage, it means what the difference in price might be when you buy. While the transaction is going on, the price can change and, as a result, if you have a big slippage on this exchange (you can fix it in settings), you will buy for a bigger price. A big slippage is typical for new and really risky projects, but I don’t think that it is the high time for them now.
31  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or altcoins on: September 12, 2021, 04:46:14 AM
I have been watching this market for a long time.

It seems that in the early part of a bull market, Bitcoin goes up faster than altcoins (ie Bitcoin dominance goes up.)  In the late part of a bull market, Bitcoin still goes up but altcoins go up even better (ie Bitcoin dominance goes down.)

In a bear market, altcoins fall faster than Bitcoin (ie Bitcoin dominance recovers somewhat but has to wait for the next bull market to go really high.)

So, it would seem the correct play is to buy altcoins at this point, and then convert them into Bitcoin (or sell) when you see the bull market ending?

Any thoughts?

[I used to post as BobK71, and am using a new account after some logistical mixup.]
It will be a good strategy, but it is not so easy to guess the right time when to buy and convert. You are right describing all this process. Firstly, Bitcoin starts growing and all altcoins follow its trend, but as their market cap is lower than Bitcoin's they can grow much more. And then Bitcoin starts decreasing and altcoins drop very fast. My strategy is just to diversify and get rid of altcoins when I see that Bitcoin starts falling.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are good for investing? on: September 12, 2021, 04:37:44 AM
My recommendation is investing in Solana, Polkadot, Matic, Tron and Vechain. But it is better to wait in terms of all these coins as it is going to be a bear trend now, so no currencies are likely to grow. It is better to wait for a full dip and when you see that the market is becoming greener you can buy one of the coins that I mentioned before. Why exactly are they? I can say a lot about each of them, and each one is valuable. Some of them have innovative ideas, some are connected with NFTs that are really popular now, some are just convenient and trendy. Investigate them.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do i follow the moves of a successful trader??? on: September 12, 2021, 04:15:33 AM
im trying this trading thing but its not working out so good. every single time i buy something, it completely tanks.

is there a way to follow the trades real time of a successful trader without using twitter??

thanks.

also just bought solana and ankr so i would completely stay away from those for awehile, already tanking bigtime

I don’t think that it was a wise decision to buy solana now. You see that the whole market is in red and Solana has already grown a lot, so I am not sure if you will not be disappointed with your purchase now.
Talking about following successful traders, it is not always a good strategy as if there are many people who repeat after him, you may not have time to repeat before pump or vice versa dump. So try to study trading with indicators on your own.
34  Economy / Economics / Re: Two basic things that can give you an advantage on: September 11, 2021, 05:38:14 AM
There are two basic things that need to be implemented when the market suddenly falls like yesterday to make a profit. First, the attitude must remain calm by thinking that it will recover. Second, take the opportunity to buy as many coins as possible, such as top 10 coins.
I agree with you that if your strategy is long-term holding you just should be calm and accumulate stable coins to be prepared for dip and to be prepared to buy good currencies for low prices.
On the other hand, if there are shit coins in your wallet, or just those tokens that you are not sure if they will recover after fall, you should think about selling off them.
35  Economy / Economics / Re: After 1 year of Covid 19 Virus on: September 11, 2021, 05:34:08 AM
Now that there is already a vaccine , could it be the end of covid- 19 virus? How are you after one year of covid-19 pandemic?

There is a saying," Behind the Clouds the Sun is still Shining".
I don't think that we will come back to the reality we had before this pandemic. I think that it will be forever with us. We will learn how to fight against it and there will not be so many victims, but this virus can't disappear. I am very disappointed that there are so many things that we are deprived due to this disease. But I strongly believe that one day we will get rid of all these restrictions and we will be able to travel again.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin recovery? Can someone please help on: September 11, 2021, 05:28:16 AM
Hi all,

On my old laptop I had my doge wallet installed. When I open the wallet i cannot locate the key file anywhere.

So the wallet cannot open any file. Every file produces an error, I must have accidentally deleted the wallet file.

I have my private key and password saved but cannot use it due to the wallet file missing.

I was using the dogecoin core wallet for Windows.

Is there a way I can get to my dogecoins?

Thanks

You are lucky that you haven’t lost your private key. Actually, even when you lose your laptop, or delete your wallet, you still can recover your assets. Just install it again and import your account. If something is wrong with your laptop you can use another gadget and you will still manage to import your wallet there using your private key (seed phrase).
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is a hardware wallet really worth it? on: September 07, 2021, 02:26:25 PM
Hello all, I've been thinking of buying a hardware wallet to store my Bitcoin in (ColdCard), but I'm not sure if it's really worth it.

First of all, what are the advantages of using a hardware wallet, and is it really worth it?
I know security is one of them, but other than that, is there anything else?

And finally, Is the ColdCard a good choice? I'm looking to store Bitcoin only.

Regards, excro  Wink

When we are talking about wallets, security is the main point. All your bitcoin will belong to you in case of a cold wallet, as opposed to exchanges when you just give them your money, which means you practically don’t own it. What is more, even if you lose your cold wallet, but you still remember the seed phrase, you can restore your assets. In terms of a coldcard, I am not familiar with such a cold wallet. I use a ledger and I am very satisfied with it. It is very convenient for storage.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will "De-Fi" beat Banks sometime in the future? on: September 07, 2021, 02:22:43 PM
I think that banks and governments consider crypto to be a real rival for them. Crypto market is uncontrolled, so authorities just can't approve of developing crypto and replacing traditional financial systems with crypto. So they are likely to start forbidding crypto to some extent. Or they will create their own currencies that will be under their control
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Guidance to trade altcoin on: September 07, 2021, 03:55:20 AM
If you want to become a successful trader you should study indicators and make up your own strategy. Also try to investigate first of all the general situation (Bitcoin's movements and current trends), and then project themselves (docs, ideas, functions, team).
You had better look at coinmarketcap table top-100 first, maybe you will find something interesting for you there.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 77% of Russian investors prefer Bitcoin to Gold and Forex on: September 06, 2021, 03:48:15 AM
I am Russian and I can say that it is easier to enter the crypto market than to enter the forex or stock market. As sometimes you just need qualified investor status, sometimes you need to have a minimum amount of money which is also usually a quite big amount to start. Young guys are really in favour of progressive bitcoin. Moreover, I work in the crypto market and haven’t had to pay taxes yet, but with gold and forex there is an opposite situation.
