61  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin To Cash Rate? on: June 26, 2015, 06:43:16 PM
You'd have to be careful with carrying cash around as you could get mugged or robbed. I would guess a 5 to 10% markup on the bitcoin exchange rate is standard. Could be more depending on a number of variables.
62  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best site for BTC to USD ? on: June 26, 2015, 06:39:52 PM
I would recommend Payza, if you have a verified account.
I used to recommend BitStamp, but their wire withdrawals are very slow.
63  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cost of Bitcointalk Accounts. on: June 26, 2015, 06:38:21 PM
It'll be nice to be able to collate all the data for sold accounts so far and their corresponding prices so we can get an average sale price.
64  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you have 1 BTC, how will you make it to 1.1 BTC in the best way? 10$ Prize on: June 26, 2015, 06:35:42 PM
Simple. Lend for a 10% return. I have taken a similar loan previously.
65  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: A scaled up spam experiment : #SpamTheBlockchain As A Service on: June 26, 2015, 06:31:36 PM
Why isn't the spam being tested on the testnet?

selling a fiat unit 50 years ago would have been blasphemous to these men and women

67  Economy / Economics / Re: 62% of New Millionaires come from Asia on: June 26, 2015, 03:02:07 PM
Asia is a rapidly growing market ripe for business, especially China with the economic boom. It is a largely untapped market and it would only be an advantage to learn their language.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What projects are you most excited about? on: June 26, 2015, 02:02:33 PM
I'm always excited about bitcoin debit cards, as they give instant access to spend bitcoins you have pretty much anywhere without having to worry about converting first.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gregory Maxwell threatens to sell his bitcoins and find other things to work on on: June 26, 2015, 01:14:33 PM
Some users just tend to spin things using sensational titles. Some days, I just shake my head beacuse it's like reading The Daily Mail.
70  Other / MultiBit / Re: Why I can't send btc from multibit to greenaddress? on: June 26, 2015, 01:10:03 PM
It's possible that multibit doesn't support multisignature addresses that start with 3. You would have to contact their dev or support team.
71  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help me with a regex on: June 26, 2015, 01:02:59 PM
You can use this pattern
Code:
/<div class="quote">(.*?)<\/div>/is

However, this will get tricky with nested quotes. Observing the forum thread HTML code, It looks like there is always a <br> after the div.quote element, so this may achieve the desired result for nested quotes.
Code:
/<div class="quote">(.*?)<\/div><br/is

It may not work 100% of the time though, so you should always check your results.

72  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Best way to store bitcoin values in MySql? on: June 26, 2015, 12:57:27 PM
You can use either DECIMAL(16,8) or BIGINT.
If you're storing with BIGINT, you will have to make sure that you convert your values correctly at all times, or you may run into several problems.
The decimal is used for precision math, so you won't encounter rounding errors with the data type.

74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar founder: We aren't the next Silk Road on: June 26, 2015, 10:25:27 AM
Does OpenBazaar offer some sort of moderation or reporting system for undesirable or illegal products? If so, that might help with some control, although that somewhat goes against the whole ideal of being decentralised.
75  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ready to take off!!! on: June 26, 2015, 10:24:03 AM
Is this the year of bitcoin? I remember when the Linux desktop (see the year of the Linux desktop) was being pushed as the next best thing, for several years. Bitcoin will definitely gain mass adoption, but I'm cautiously optimistic.
76  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: At what point do we stop kidding ourselves? Bye Bye mining farms. on: June 26, 2015, 01:54:47 AM
The mining farms are going to exist as long as they are breaking even and the mining continues to be profitable. The price of bitcoin would have to drop very low (<$100) before they go away.
77  Economy / Services / Re: Fiverr Reviews @ $0.75 !!! on: June 26, 2015, 01:48:35 AM
Isn't this against their terms of service?
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Criminals/thieves/hackers who have been tracked via the blockchain? on: June 25, 2015, 11:09:29 PM
Criminals/thieves/hackers tracked - all of them.
Caught - maybe less than 1%.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So we can get paid BTC for searching on Bing? on: June 25, 2015, 10:46:18 PM
I believe Bing Rewards is a US-only feature.
