The Bitlicense doesn't affect regular users, just certain businesses that deal with trading bitcoin.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Comedian Louis C.K Begins Accepting Bitcoin on: August 15, 2015, 10:05:39 AM
Ha! This is great. I've enjoyed most of his comedy shows. Is it also possible to purchase the videos? I can't seem to find that option on the site.
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cheapest legal way of moving 50k euros from China to france on: August 15, 2015, 10:02:10 AM
If BTC is not work for you:

If the money is for yourself, just use a credit card that doesn't have foreign transaction fees.

If the money is for someone else, I would use PayPal or Western Union or something else like that.

I haven't seen a credit card that allows up to 50,000 in limits. Are these actually available?

I would imagine the cheapest would definitely be bitcoin, but purchasing bitcoin will still have some exchange fees. So the next best option is probably a wire transfer.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Greek debt crisis demonstrates perils of lending to your euro friends on: July 31, 2015, 08:15:07 PM
If Greece exits the eurozone, what actually happens to the existing debt? And will their currency actually have a lot of value? Just seems like a huge mess and I'm thankful I'm nowhere involved with it. I can't imagine what it's like for everyone involved.
6  Economy / Economics / Re: My bank account's got robbed by European Commission. Over 700k is lost. on: July 31, 2015, 08:12:18 PM
Wow, this is crazy. Will this sort of thing also happen in Greece?
And it's scary that this is expected to be the same sort of restructuring that will affect EU banks. Is it safe to keep more than 100K EUR in any European banks at this point?
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 within a month. on: July 31, 2015, 08:09:09 PM
Bitcoin will still be below $500 by the end of 2015. It's going to take a very long time before it hits the $1000+ mark.
8  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] .io domain names on: July 31, 2015, 08:05:33 PM
The prices have been updated.
9  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Does anyone here use the blockchain.info Receive API? on: July 31, 2015, 07:57:39 PM
An alternative to the blockchain.info API is the Chain.com API. It's very easy to get up and running and the documentation is very robust, and there is support for various languages, or simple CURL requests.
10  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BTC MMO on: July 31, 2015, 07:50:40 PM
What technology will you be using for the MMO frontend? Flash or Unity? I've always wanted to build a game, but never really got around to it.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Accept KYC or jump through hoops to avoid it? on: July 31, 2015, 07:42:36 PM
I personally don't mind KYC as long as the company offers good service and it's a reputable business. However, I wouldn't want to send my information to anyone who just whips up a default Bootstrap site with numerous spelling errors all over the pages.
12  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Wallets that gives out Free Bicoisn for Signing Up on: July 31, 2015, 07:31:32 PM
Xapo still gives 5000 bits if you sign up through one of the numerous faucets that pay out using them.
13  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lost bitcoin on: July 31, 2015, 06:39:01 PM
It could've been the Blockchain.info random number generator bug, or you may have had a keylogger/trojan installed.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: July 31, 2015, 06:32:25 PM
Yes, it is possible to withdraw from a bitcoin debit card.
I've ordered a Bit-X card and intend to take it for a spin.

Been reading up on the available cards, and it looks like the Bit-X one lets you spend from your bitcoin balance directly. The others require you to convert your bitcoin to fiat first before you can use the card.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Karpeles finally getting some Japanese style justice - hang 'em high on: July 31, 2015, 06:28:11 PM
Finally, some justice for the Mt. Gox scam. How long is he going to be imprisoned for?
16  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I just tested out a bitcoin debit card and it worked! on: July 27, 2015, 08:22:04 AM
This looks like the same card as the Bit-X one (called the Nanocard), but it looks like it's cheaper to get it from CCEDK? Saw some announcements about a CCEDK and Bit-X partnership a while back. Looks like this is what it was about. I also don't see an option to add your name to the card on CCEDK.
I will be ordering a Bit-X card soon and hope to try it out on a day-to-day basis.
17  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Bitdash Wallet for Android now available from the Play Store on: July 26, 2015, 04:12:19 PM
Hi folks,

The app has been updated to include QR code scanning for bitcoin URIs, so you don't have to type in or copy/paste addresses anymore when a QR code is available! Download it today for free! Smiley

20  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: v-mining.com is 100% a scam!!! on: July 24, 2015, 07:33:45 PM
What's interesting is the rate at which these "cloud mining" ponzis are being created just to make a quick buck. Are people still falling for these schemes?
