You should only move some of it. Or better still, move only what you can afford to lose. The price is still volatile and can go up or down at any moment, so you'd have to be careful.

I would go for XT. I'm in support of raising the block size limit or removing it completely.

Nice sale. Wonder if bitcoin will hit the $1000 mark again anytime soon.

Personally, I think the hard limit should be removed completely. Remember the "640K is enough memory for everyone" quote? Look at where we are today. Technology advances at a very quick pace, and we'll have more than enough storage and bandwidth to handle the increases as adoption grows.

I think a bitcoin bank would be good for mass market users, as long as the bank doesn't screw everything up. The main problem hindering mass bitcoin adoption is still the high barrier for entry (with regards to getting bitcion, available wallets, securing their coins, and spending). A decent bank should be able to solve this problem. However, most tech savvy users won't need to keep their bitcoins in banks. As always, having multiple options is never a bad idea.

You could probably write a script that connects over RPC, retrieves and decodes the block headers and then compare the retrieved nonce values.

btc on the raspberry pi is very slow and laggy compared to a normal laptop. Only run lightweight wallets on the raspberry pi.
I think he said it's working fine on his pi2 and failing on windoze. @rupy, I know nothing of windows, can't help you. But as you said, since this thread is about bitcoin on raspberry pi, maybe you should start a new thread. it keeps crashing on mine tho :/, running latest raspbian Right, I sholuld admit, I saw a post from gmaxwell in another thread talking about how bitcoin-core is probably not going to run well even on the pi2. This is above and beyond all the disk writes to your sandisk. I haven't tried it myself. Out of curiosity, though, what's the error you're getting on the crash? I saw people running Bitcoin Core in Pi Ver. B with no issue but a hard drive have to be attached. The write speed of SD cards are very slow depending on your grade. You can easily attached it to a old hard disk with sufficient space though. You can try a few commands to reduce the load. The minimum requirement of Bitcoin Core should be around 1GB. Alternatively, you can use a board which supports mSATA like the Banana Pi or Hummingboard, which enables you to plug in an mSATA SSD for more storage. SSDs are very cheap now compared to the earlier years.

If you're looking for a reliable mobile wallet on Android, you can try out our Bitdash wallet. It's straightforward to use and it supports sending to multiple addresses at once from your mobile device.

I think it's quite similar to how console wars (PS vs XBox), or OS wars (Apple vs Microsoft), or comic book wars (Marvel vs DC) play out. People will defend anything they're attached to or they're fans of to the very end. Fun fact: The word "fan" is derived from fanatic.

I've taken a couple of loans on the forums, mostly due to the fact that I needed BTC quickly, and my only option of converting from fiat to bitcoin is using a wire transfer to the exchange, which usually takes days. It's easy to get a loan as long as you have reasonable collateral. Without collateral, I would say you shouldn't bother.

There should be a way that becomes a standard in every cinema of a developed country that lets you pay with BTC. When im carrying my popcorn last thing I want is count cash, I could scan the QR with my phone and pay in a second.
You buy pop corn before tickets? I usually do it the other way around. The self-service terminals for purchasing tickets at the cinema seem like a very good platform to implement payments with bitcoin.

I've heard of it and I'm skeptical, probably due to being burned by "cloud mining" a few times.
The web site looks like an amateur job and doesn't inspire much confidence. They don't have a physical address. Their support page is blank. Personally, I would steer clear of this.

It's amusing how they don't seem to get that even if OpenBazaar doesn't exist, criminals will still find a way of conducting their business. Crime has existed for years, and it will continue to exist, regardless of the mediums available.

This is very nice. Will definitely make use of the service next time I'm visiting the US. It's great when more and more mainstream services accept Bitcoin.

Are these investments still viable? I've been burned quite a bit and now I'm sort of skeptical about where to invest the bitcoins I have at this point.

Yeah, it seems very suspicious. You'd think with all the news of hacking going on, exchanges would focus more on security at this point.

Well, it's now 6 months (since 19th December) with no payments whatsoever. I've written off my investment, but I still find it very disgusting. This guy doesn't seem to understand the concept of ETAs. Oh well.

I think until people who hold Bitcoin start to spend it as normal currency and more establishments start to accept it, it'll always be tied to fiat one way or the other. Personally, I'm just looking forward to a point where conversion between bitcoin and fiat is fast and easy, instead of having to do identify verification and wait days for wire transfers.

I remember having a similar issue when I was running the Qt core client on a Windows VPS. The syncing slows down for a while, but it will definitely go past that. Just leave it running in the background for a few hours or days as appropriate. Not efficient, but not necessarily a major issue.

Hello Guys,
I used to receive on BTC-E, Then downloaded Bitcoin Core.. While it was Syncing I pressed on receive money and copied the Address then sent a payment from my BTC-E as i wanted to transfer everything to the Bitcoin Core and start using (Paying/Receiving) from it without using BTC-E website..
But after it used 35GB of storage it asked for more BUT i don't have more storage, until that time it was Saying 45 Weeks later, BUT nothing from the money i transferred was reached to it... so i uninstalled it.
And now I'm back to use BTC-E BUT the money i sent is gone....
Where are they and how i can find them? Any help or suggestion will be highly appreciated AND bTw isn't that money but it's @ the end ( Money ) =)
Thanks for Reading.
Check if the wallet.dat still exists in your user data folder. If it does, you'll need to make use of the core client to export and import it to a different wallet.
