Hi,

I am trying to compile crave on a windows 8 machine,

But Im having issues with it.. probably has something to do with secp256k1? Any die-hard windows freaks here which could give me a hand? Smiley
1562  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Building headless Bitcoin and Bitcoin-qt on Windows on: July 06, 2015, 03:43:17 PM
Hey I saw this and thought this could definitely be a good solution : http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Voyo-Mini-PC-Windows-8-1-2GB-64GB-Intel-Z3735F-Quad-Core-Activated-Windows-with-bing/32381104507.html

One of these seem good for the Bitcoin-qt full node on windows and has 64gb of storage, while the os is an annoying 8.1 with bing there are similar ones for a little more to get a better 8.1 experience.

Should not have to buy a new computer to compile bitcoin.... I often buy a 4$ a month shell for a few hours at ~10 cents total cost to do it on, let alone any computer from the past 10-15 years....

If they just compiled libbitcoin binaries for Windows devs..........

Thank you for that link  Smiley Interesting stuff

After a pauze of 5-6 weeks... (all this code really drove me insane after a while) I finally managed to compile bitcoin and litecoin qt static.. Works like a charm  Grin

After failing over and over again on windows 7 (never again Tongue ), I tried windows 8.1. And after the first try it was already done. Very happy with this Smiley

Thanks a lot for this guide, and all the help from the other members  Smiley

Cheers,

Banzai

Teach Me! I am using Windows 10! I am trying to compile Crave! (PM If Possible)

I noticed crave is using secp256k1.  I could not compile Crave either. (I can on ubuntu though)

I thought bitcoin also uses this? or is it included in the source and executed with the autogen/configure/make files? Crave only has a .pro you can alter, so you have to add the libs paths in the .pro . It did not work for me though. Anyone else with a suggestion? Not really about bitcoin qt.. I know.. Lips sealed
1563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: PotCoin | GROW WITH US | BANKING FOR THE CANNABIS INDUSTRY | on: July 06, 2015, 03:26:20 PM
Cool!  Thanks.

I will be honest, some people are really stupid and the pegging thing does work for value increases (pump and dumps). Even after it is proven not to be what it is some will still believe it. Critical thinking and basic logic should be required courses, many people are in dire need of them.

I don't know the real answers and motives behind some of these coins but yeah the pegging thing I don't understand cause it seems to put a psychological cap on the price also I think which is more like a goal post for average investor. Being in the cannabis industry, I just can't see it working on our end of the cannabis/crypto spectrum/deal.

Pegging will never work. lol

What will work is a 5-10% discount if you pay with marijuana related coins Wink In the long term that will grow the price of POT (or any other cannabis coin) If I could buy my weed with a 5-10% discount just by paying with potcoin for example.. fuck yeah I will buy POTcoin and buy my weed with it Wink

Even a smart reseller could make big profits that way...  Wink

I have to say.. I started with a fresh blockchain download today (windows hardreset), and in less then 30 minutes it was done! Pretty impressive for a 1 year old chain (blockcountwise)  Cool
Shit really mate? I downloaded the wallet last week and the entire thing from scratch downloaded for me in like 1 to 2 mins tops!! This wallet is crazy ass fast!! And it's such a steal right now at the current price! I'm actually just looking into finally setting up some masternodes Wink Cheers

Well Im not sure how long it took though... I re-checked after ~30 mins and it was done... LOL  Cool

1569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [GEO] GeoCoin | GIS & GeoTechnologies on: July 04, 2015, 08:42:59 AM
My thoughts exactly.. Or are you here just to bash on this coin and its community?  Huh I agree with you that all these " warnings"  that pop up are not really good or something for the image of this coin. But instead of helping to try and solve these issues, you only point them out without some sort of solution for them. If you really like this coin, you can always offer some help on the things you noticed.. It seems to me you know your stuff very well  Smiley
1570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [COV] COVEN COIN ! BITTREX ! 33K SUPPLY ! TAKEOVER on: July 04, 2015, 08:37:02 AM
Again? Dude... cmon and take your losses like a man.. There is nothing special about this coin which is worth a take-over... The roadmap isnt even finished yet...

Thank you for your concern. But I am in profit Wink

If the roadmap was finished, this takeover wouldn't even be necessary Tongue

I disagree with you. I believe this coin has potential. Thank you for your support Smiley

As many takeovers as necessary will be made

I wish you the best of luck! I really do...  Wink

You know, a new " coin " can be bought for ~0.5-2 btc depending on the features... Just saying... Wink

I know, but a new coin is not COV Wink

And this coin wears its name very well: coven means assembly or community.

And that's what will give it value along with its features.

And frankly: I like to save dead coins on my mighty horse Tongue

Of course you can call it coven... Since the old one is " dead "  you can revive it by a complete fresh blockchain and do the swap manually yourself. That way Coven-dev is out of the picture officially, and the dev-torch could be passed on to a new developer

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1082835.msg11749958#msg11749958 Wink

Now the HXX Dev is busy creating a new coin known as northerncoin,Link:

https://github.com/northern-dev/northerncoin

This could be a random person trying to copy/paste his own cryptocoin. I would use another sourcecode though.. This one is totally fucked

Thanks for clearing up the confusion Earlz.

And seriously guys.. Just be glad Earlz is doing all this reviewing for such a small fee. He has proven himself " trustworthy" a long time ago. New stuff in the code can be missed.

Let me ask the hypocrits and haters... Did you guys review the code yourself and found this " bug" ?If so... Shame on you for not sharing this. Just be glad there are people in crypto who really want to " help"  the community. Keep up the good work Earlz  Wink And a big thanks to the guy who posted that PM from Pharmadev

Man... How many of these little " bugs" will they program in the future huh?
