im no trader but to my untradered eye this chart appears to contain confirmations indicating there are more ticks before, in fact there are more than 6. The chance of double spend here is astronomically small.

I believe proudhon and sgbett are probably having the JOMO feeling right now, but I do not know why they are not currently trolling. Are they really buying and HODLing the DIP?

The meaning of JOMO is in this topic, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5390052.0

Cool

buying BTC!? oh boy...

for someone that replies to my posts an awful lot, you sure do seem to not read them!

Pesky lasers!

Is this the real BitCoin!?
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin, I salute your final ATH. on: January 27, 2022, 08:57:49 AM
@sgbett Arrived relatively late to the sgbett and proudhon parties but have nevertheless enjoyed them. Others seem to have fallen away (kwukduck for example I wish stuck around) but continue to derive much satiafaction and undercurrent readings from those who do bother do add context and deeper meaning... Not that I also don't enjoy pure speculation for the heck of it.

Do we really think we get to where we are without healthy diversity of opinion? The irony is to see proudhon being called a contrarian when that used to be a Bitcoiner label =)

I think maybe you only saw the second coming... I have been confirming bad news since 2014! Wink

Back then I was joking, now I'm deadly serious!

Joking back then? What? And I even confirmed you to Confirmer General.

I can confirm that is the case, and my sauces are also confirmed.

Roll Eyes

You are too busy looking at Bitcoin, but instead, I believe you should be looking at your fork of a fork shitcoin Bcash SV. The price today is actually as low as during the crash of March, 2020. If Bitcoin had performed like your shitcoin, it would be stuck UNDER $5,000.

Plus the world had the highest inflation in history because of record BRRR-money-printing, markets were surging, but BSV is actually still down from its ATH during 2019. That must make you truly an unhappy investor for HODLing one of the WORST “investments” of the cycle.

I can confirm that I am looking at Bitcoin. The Chinese sauce is also looking at Bitcoin. Bitcoin can confirm this 6 times. As you can see from experts here

Just in case anyone is feeling a little disoriented I produced this handy map...

original sauce confirmed here

Bitcoin has a no man - everybody hates him Smiley

Hory sheet, sgbett the troll returns.

As if your last laughable price bottom prediction (which failed miserably) wasn't bad enough, now you come back with $1150??

Even proudhon couldn't suggest a bottom like that one and keep a straight face.

My god man, give it up. Go crawl back into your hole. Maybe take up ant farming.

He probably sold around the $1,150 price point, and used all the profits to buy Gold and Silver, then Bcash SV. With Craig Wright not keeping his promise that Bcash SV will replace Bitcoin as the Real Bitcoin, sgbett wants to buy back Bitcoin at the same price point he sold.

He converted all his BTC to BCH when it split, and then to BSV when it split again. He is 100% in BSV.

He still has 1 share of XBT-Provider (an ETF that tracks BTC price) remaining in his SIPP.

Here are the dates that I bought/sold XBT-Provider over the last few years, I can't complain. You can't buy it anymore due to FCA regs. He does not want to buy BTC at any price.

Code:
Date Action Unit cost pence
23/02/2021 Sold 165,312
14/01/2021 Sold 135,073
27/06/2019 Sold 44,275
06/02/2018 Bought 23,041
16/01/2018 Sold 41,629
19/12/2017 Sold 65,922
06/12/2017 Sold 47,404
29/11/2017 Sold 39,388
20/11/2017 Sold 30,906
24/10/2017 Sold 20,555
18/10/2017 Sold 19,407
16/08/2017 Bought 16,239
01/08/2017 Sold 9,988
10/07/2017 Sold 9,281

I don't know how people dare to talk about predictions so vehemently, like lecturing us, as those of us who have been investing for many years know that predictions based on charts and patterns fail constantly.

Wright vs Bitcoin devs, what happens with Tether and what the SEC decides about whether a coin that has a raise on promise of profit and is pre-mined constitutes a security. ETH clearly, air dropped Bitcoin... maybe.
Can you explain to me how the legal debate between Wright and Bitcoin devs could affect the price of Bitcoin or have the effect of determining the end point of this cycle?
It would be logical not to repeat the same levels of 2017 and therefore it is difficult to break the peaks at 2021, but this does not mean that waiting for two months or more will be ideal.
Personally, I expect a top at $92,000 in February before we reach a 70% correction.

The Wright vs Core devs is likely about whether Bitcoin core has been changed in a way such that it makes old transactions invalid - in particular I am talking about NLocktime and nSequence it could be that as a result of those changes some older coins may be inaccessible.

As part of this case, core devs may be compelled to update the bitcoin core software in order to allow access to these coins.

If that is the case then it directly contradicts the prevailing view that code is law, and demonstrate that Bitcoin is in fact subject to the rule of law.

I think that may have a material effect on price, because many people are invested on the premise that BTC sits outside of law.

I also think it's possible this will have no effect, and I think your prediction of a $92k seems very reasonable too.

First off my apologies for post on another thread.

internet sucks. I realized I read your post wrong and deleted my part of the post directed to you. We then cross posted.

No worries my dude, thanks for bothering to write that, countless others would not. You are stand up fellow!
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Summer dip?!, December price outcome? ---> JOIN and guess the price GO! on: December 06, 2021, 02:18:53 PM
Hey sgbett your post is simple trolling and does not belong here.

Well my 70k is dead but I am still buying $50 a day in BTC in addition to my mining.

To the winner whomever it is good luck.

At op thanks again.

No its not, I'm defending accusations from several others in this thread. Do I have a right to reply? Your post implies that I do not, and the subtext is you think it should be removed.

Edit: Oh, nice ninja edit.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Summer dip?!, December price outcome? ---> JOIN and guess the price GO! on: December 06, 2021, 02:12:15 PM
So I missed out all that drama. Nice real-time tickers, nicer to see the hiccup ongoing, nicest to see that the best the bears and profit-takers can do is a 10% shaving off peak.

Have to admit was expecting price to blow through 70k once new top achieved but I guess we gotta see all kinds of ATH behaviour in this peak's that already done some 1st timers.

It was nothing in my opinion, it didn’t wake up sgbett and the other Bitcoin Cash SV flat-earthers. But the real drama will be another 30% mini-crash next few weeks, then REAL ATH. That would be the last opportunity to buy the dip under current ATH.

Oh my!!!  Holy shit!!!

Do you even believe that a 30% dip (that would be down to around $46k.. which surely would not be the end of the world, for sure) is within reasonable expectations?  I appreciate that you, Wind_FURY, seem to be just throwing that out there as an extreme.. so probably you are not really considering a 30% drop to be too likely.. but it is within the realm of extreme possibilities.. .. in any event.. even the proposition of a 30% drop got my hackles up..

Cool

I told you, ser. We should never underestimate Bitcoin’s volatility. We saw it during April, and I believe another retest back to $35,000 is currently possible, or is that just in “the realm of extreme possibilites”?

Plus who crashed the market, and should we prepare for jeers from proudhon and sgbett again? Hahaha!

There will be no jeering on my watch. I think you misunderstand me, I have a conscience.

When BTC collapses the people that get hurt will be the many bag holding retail investors that were deceived. Which vastly outnumbers those with malicious intent to deceive who will likely walk way with a stack of profit.

It happens all the time on Wall St. but BTC is different right?

2017 forecast - with explanation of how post-Gox played out

2020 Revised forecast - with explanation of how each ATH must retest previous before next rally can begin.

Tether BS in FT - once a purview of cryptobloggers and niche sites, the overwhelming stench of alleged Tether fraud is now mainstream news.

BTC *will* retest ~1150 - timeframe is totally unpredictable because it depends on what unfolds in Florida, COPA, Wright vs Bitcoin devs, what happens with Tether and what the SEC decides about whether a coin that has a raise on promise of profit and is pre-mined constitutes a security. ETH clearly, air dropped Bitcoin... maybe.

You love to hate it, but you can't ignore it forever.

A lot of you guys are missing the context on the very long running Proudhon posts.

He's been posting here for as long as I can remember, likely before I joined back in 2012.

The running joke / laugh used to be that at times of uncertainty Proudhon would stop by, especially in the 'Wall Observer' topic and confirm that the top is in and we're never going to see the likes of $100 again - ever!

He was always regarded as a contrarian - whatever he said - the opposite happened.

Only once do I recall him saying the 'bottom bottom' is in and that was when it hit about $55 after the 2013 crash down from about $260 on MtGox - he was 100% correct on that call - it never went that low again.

Considering that, when Proudhon appears at a time of uncertainty it is a bullish indicator / omen but I guess you would have had to be here in 2012 / 2013 to fully realise that.

This is why I like to see a Proudhon post....they do have meaning  Wink

I can confirm that he doesn't think he will.

I can add a second confirmation that all people on all sides of fences are continuing to remain on their respective sides of fences. So here we all are, needing each other to validate each other,,, without one side there cannot be an opposing side. So I welcome his salutations and wait to see which side is right (and being right is never permanent!).

I can confirm that $50,000 is actually in strikethrough and $51,000 is the ATH being saluted.
