341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinica MtGox account compromised on: July 13, 2012, 10:48:33 AM
Does anyone actually believe this? They stole 40,000 usd from gox? Then it can be tracked plain and simple. But I'm sure no police report will be filed, because nothing was really stolen. Thats ignoring the fact that mtgox says they approve manually large withdrawals. Where is the 40,000btc? if its still in gox, gox can take it back if not where is it in the blockchain. The bitcoinica scammers really are getting careless now with their claims
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Need] Reaper v13 config for successful LTC mining with Radeon 7970 on: July 11, 2012, 03:01:58 AM
I also got about 530kh with more severe overclocks but the extra 75 watts or so was too much for me

344  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Payout Updates] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: July 11, 2012, 02:35:57 AM
I really don't understand how the actions taken by Bitcoinica are accepted by anyone in the community.  They don't take any responsibility for the hack, even though it was trivial for the hacker to gain access due to their extremely poor security procedures. Now they continue to use unsecure methods of communication to discuss payouts.  Why are we letting them get away with this? The name calling? the threats to stop returning money? saying no one owned the company and is responsible?

At the very least we should be removing all links to Intersango, boycotting them and labeling their usernames scammers on the forums. The same people are responsible and will use the same moral code they are right now if anything goes south with Intersango. They continue to make money while we sit without our funds for months. I have offered to donate for legal fees against bitcoinica, too bad no one seems to be willing to take legal action, I have only lost a couple hundred so not worth it by myself. Right now they are getting away with a half million dollars and no one is stopping them. If we let this happen their will be even more fraud even more "hacks"
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Help me fix my solo-mining and I'll give you coins! on: July 09, 2012, 05:09:57 AM

346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] Help me fix my solo-mining and I'll give you coins! on: July 09, 2012, 05:05:43 AM

347  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Enough power or no? on: June 27, 2012, 09:00:42 PM
or another way to run a power supply more stable at the limit is on 240v... another thought 5770's use quite a bit more than 95 watts overclocked more like 120-130 watts

Awesome! keep up the good work
349  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Artificial Value of Older AMD/ATI GPU's on: June 26, 2012, 07:02:14 PM
ugh 1000w is not 1000kwh at 24/7 its 720kwh for 30 days. Why is it so hard for people to understand this? So 1500 watts cost $118.80 to power a month at 0.11 cents a kwh
350  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Can someone recommend a 16 port switch? on: June 25, 2012, 03:41:00 AM
I currently have a gs108 netgear switch, it needs resetting a couple times a week I have no idea why. So I'm looking for a replacement. ideally with 16 ports so I have room to grow. Is there any advantages to a managed switch? At least as far as bitcoin mining is concerned? Just want something stable (even in 100f heat), any recommendations that are cheap/common.
351  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [.3 BTC Bounty]Quadfire 7970 rig problem [Video] on: June 23, 2012, 04:02:34 AM
There is a multi monitor bug with 7970's I know that was in version 12.3, not sure if it was still present in 12.4 but switching resolutions and monitors turning on/off would cause a blue screen of death. I am using release candidate 11.12 (which I don't believe is on amd's website) from the disc and I stopped having issues when I reinstalled windows with that version. Now I run crossfire 3 screen eyefinity with no issues on every game I've tried, but haven't tried COD yet.
352  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Enough power or no? on: June 23, 2012, 02:44:08 AM
it looks like that is a multi rail power supply. its always best to have a single rail for miners. I would think it will run 4 without issues but am skeptical on 5.  Nice thing about that cpu though is you can underclock brisbanes to around 10 watts. If it does post all cards I would underclock/undervolt at least one card for some more breathing room, for example the 5850 at 775 gpu and 1.02v almost always works for me
353  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [BAMT] WiFi Connection Sharing on: June 23, 2012, 01:05:26 AM
I have tried using windows internet sharing to my bamt machines but had alot of issues. I would highly recommend buying a dd-wrt capable router (ie linksys wrt54g) and using the 2nd router as a client instead. I see them on craigslist regularly for $20 or so, another advantage is if your one system goes down your whole network doesnt

so you gave doublec back some of the coins you double spent causing him losses? how nice of you
355  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Abnormal hash/s rate on PCIe x1 slot. [.1 BTC Bounty] on: June 21, 2012, 07:28:29 PM
I've seen the same on a MSI 990fx on the first 1x slot the other one works fine. Not much help I know but I'm fairly certain its not a motherboard issue, and it wasn't a faulty extension cable. So my guessing is it needs a powered extension cable or your using all the pcie lanes on the board with your other cards.

just as a warning to people interested in buying... if it wasn't for this case I know I would
357  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Would I be able to run a third card on my PSU? on: June 17, 2012, 05:20:08 AM
you shouldnt even have a problem running 4 5830's with that power supply as long as its a dedicated miner, at the very least you can run 4 at the 1.088 volt setting they use about 150 at stock 1.163 so you would be much lower than that
358  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Payout Updates] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: June 16, 2012, 05:40:31 AM
If a reputable person will setup a legal fund and maintain it I'm offering to donate to the cause. Even though I don't expect to ever get my couple hundred dollars back in btc. I still want to help. Actions speak way louder than words. Right now the owners of bitcoinica obviously think they can put this off indefinitely. They think we are all talk and nothing will happen to them.  How can genjix say that people who are being impatient, must be scammers. We have been patient for over a month. Am I the only one who is infuriated? I told zhoutong that something was happening the night of the attack and they couldn't get the hacker out of their system? What a fail. The hack is irrelevant now though they are just making more and more money as time goes on off our btc

edit: I just wanted to clarify I don't blame this on zhoutong, it does seem like he has been the most helpful and the most willing to try to make things right
359  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Franken5970 on: June 16, 2012, 02:15:12 AM
are you even willing to check that it posts?
360  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Payout Updates] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: June 15, 2012, 09:42:42 PM
What is the hold up? By now you have already made back that measly 18,000btc by zhoutong's own admissions. He said you still had 80% of your btc. Its now at $6.20 instead of $4.92 or so at the hack. Which means you are up by about 100 grand by now. So pay out everyone's btc/usd balances today not 50% not 80%. Every last cent of it. To those who have the time/money invested to bring this to court please do so now. It is about more than just the money we lost in my opinion. I will do my best to donate some btc for legal action, even though I'm broke. I had money for power/internet bills in bitcoinica. We need to make bitcoin a legitimate currency. Not a geek's hobby where hackers thrive and can run off with your money at any time. A non geek doesn't understand encryption or that the protocol isn't broken, nor would they care.
