Anyone have a complete listing of where TEK is being traded?

Cryptopia, and it would appear we are now on YoBits.  Still working on C-Cex, Bittrex and Polo

Just a reminder to all,  Please vote at C-CEX, we still need another exchange.  Thanks!

Crap. someone is dumping at .00000444 on Cryptopia. 1.3 million coins.  So much for any short term increase.  Hang in guys, it will come back!  Dumping just adds to the problem.

What other things are in the works to increase TEK's value??

Dev just posted updates on get hub, but right now since TEK is a POS coin, what it really needs is an exchange.  Cryptopia has listed TEK, but they do not command the volume we saw with Cryptsy. It would be nice to be on Bittrex or Polo, we have submitted to both, so far nothing. So it looks like C-CEX is our next attempt.

I agree with you mate. As long as TEK could get added to solid exchanges, it might definitely move the price and trading activity upward. I am just hoping for it to get added to C-CEX and also Safe-Cex as it would definitely prove beneficial towards the coin. This has been by far the best PoS coin I have invested into so far and hope it will get to the moon someday. One of the features that attracted me the most was the ability to stake every 30+ days. That way I won't need to leave the wallet open everyday until the coins mature at 30 days.  Grin
Solid exchange and C-cex made me laugh Cheesy
Definitely more of a stepping stone.

Since YoBits is dead to us (hear Godfather music in the background)
Let push for C-Cex, you can vote free, or with btc. We are in the top 20, and they take whoever is on top each week. We need some peeps to vote!
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin Hi-PoS hybrid pos/pow no premine/ipo/ico on: February 12, 2016, 01:55:44 PM
Since we are not having any luck on the YO-BITS front, Perhaps we should start pushing for C-CEX?
https://c-cex.com/?id=vote

Looks like simple voting gives 1 vote, and .001BTC gives a vote. They take one new coin per week.

Should we go for it?
I am already in Smiley

I voted, but would be willing to invest in more votes if we thought we wanted to go that way. Consensus?

Stake difficulty is HIGH.  I don't get why folks stake at this rate.  It has to be microwtakers letting their wallets run amuck. They would do so much better by combining their holdings and letting difficulty settle. I don't get it.

TekCoin on yobit will be at 2-3k with volume.

Interesting prediction. I hope you are correct.  Any facts to back this up, or is this your personal mental interpolation?
TEK was 2k+ for over a year+ on cryptsy, only went down because cryptsy went down hill.

I agree that losing Crapsy hurt us, but there are other factors at play here.

The whole supply/demand thing, which, believe it or not, is a huge factor. If you look at the total number of coins in circulation, and factor in that they have been staking non-stop, The supply has continued to increase during all of this.

Then there is consumer confidence.  While the whole thing was triggered by the CraptsyCrash, Gobs of folks have been dumping or at the very least selling off stake.  This caused an already tanking coin to scrape the bottom and remain there. I doubt that being listed on another exchange is going to instantly help coin perception.

Sure we need more buyers, but perception of value is set by folks who have the coin, and long as they are willing to basically give them away, why would anyone pay more?  We are gambling that the increase number of buyers will overcome the dump/stake sellers, and that the price will begin to rise.  I personally believe that with enough exposure this may happen slowly, but I do not expect it to happen just because we list on Yobit.  As Monk would say. "I could be wrong now...But I don't think so!"

For TEK to shoot up in price, it is going to take a large number of people to want them all at once.  This would be triggered by 2 things. First the coin has to be available. That is why we want to be listed on Polo and/or Bittrex.  I see Yobit as a stop gap, and a path towards the larger exchanges, not an end unto itself.  Second, there needs to be something that draws attention to the coin. We really do not have anything at the moment that makes us stand out as very desirable.  SuperStake helps, but its not going to get us to the moon.

In other markets, movement can be self perpetuating. For whatever reason, a investment instrument will jump in price, maybe a fund holder decides to buy in large, and the buy-in causes the price to jump, then others notice the price going up, holders increase asks, buyers up offers, and the whole thing escalates.  We have seen this with Bitcoin too.  This can happen in the Alts, a whale may decide that a particular coin is interesting and throw a handful of Bitcoin at one, same result.

So, while being listed on larger/better exchanges is a move in the correct direction, i am not personally getting my hopes up that the price will instantly go up.  We may see some moderate improvement, but other things still need to happen.

we still need a gimmick!

Well actually its because its impossible to mergemine two algo's LOL

@milly6

Ya new to crypto , huh?

here some light readin for ya.

http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/273/how-does-merged-mining-work

http://www.coindesk.com/dogecoin-allow-litecoin-merge-mining/

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=525926.msg13677546#msg13677546

3 different examples of merge mining with btc, scrypt, & groestl algo

And dis one will blow ya mind
Scrypt, SHA256D, Qubit, Skein or Myriad-Groest on 1 coin

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=483515.0

Next time , Google before ya Grin at me.  Grin

I believe the point was you cannot merge mine across algos. An example: Tek is sha256 and Doge is Scrypt. they would never merge mine together.  Each of the algos have merge mining within their algo, and some like Myriad who support multiple algos can merge mine with multiple algos due to the nature of the coin.

I have always been a bit confused about what eco-staking means exactly, does it perform while using less energy on my computer or is it just normal staking with a fancy term attached ?

I believe the eco thing is supposed to refer to eco-mining.  Allowing your pile of TEK to stake is far more eco-friendly then the power consumption necessary to mine with a computer or ASIC. This is particularly true once you have a significant amount in your wallet. So get some and STAKE!

Wow, fast community response!  I am just now seeing the requests for contributions, and it looks like the goal is already met.  Is there yet another exchange we can donate to be listed on? I am happy to help, and would have with this last one. You all just jumped too quick.

Thundertoe, Thank you for all you have done for TEK.  There are a LOT of us out here who just don't know what is happening behind the scenes, and when we see our investments suffer, we tend to get cranky.  Speaking for myself, I had no idea what your situation is.  We are not looking to you to do this all for us.  What we are hoping for is leadership.

I believe based on how quickly this exchange donation thing just happened, that you have a community of folks who are willing and able to act. We just need specific direction.

Many of us had our asses handed to us by Craptsy. Unfortunately, short of running into Big Vern in a dark ally some night, there is likely nothing we can do about this. So, we put it behind us and move on.

I am deeply invested in TEK. Like others here have said, I think it is a great coin. It has some shortcomings which can be fixed, but I would hate to see what is left of my investment go the way of the dodo, and if a little donation here and there, or some leg works would help, I am all over it.  I believe others share this view.

When asked to pummel Polo and Bittrex, we complied. We are here ready to act, just looking for direction.

All this to say: Joebwan here sir, Orders?

I think both lower interest rate and minimum block size needs to happen. Until something changes I am going to let my wallet go wild.

Doing that would definitely add in the mic-staking issue, and help keep difficulty up if that is your goal.  Again, if you care about the coin, Go to Polo and ask for TEK to be included.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [TEK] TEKcoin Hi-PoS hybrid pos/pow no premine/ipo/ico on: February 05, 2016, 01:51:06 PM
Cryptopia is working OK as an exchange, but for the price to every really go anywhere, TEK will need more and better exposure.  All POS coins rely on exchange exposure.

Crypstsy offered decent exposure before their demise, but with how few folks use Cryptopia, and the fact that the supply of TEK is still increasing, until we are picked up by an exchange such as Bittrex or Polo, the price will remain in the toilet.

The very best thing the community can do short term is continue to put in add requests at the major exchanges.  Having exposure on these little exchanges and gambling sites help a little, but we really need one of the big boys to pick TEK up.

Suggestion!

All small blocks stake a max of 10-15% per month.

Big block stake 30-40% per month.

TEK Donation: Bjhnx5tLrsqt7B7M1iuC3hG26Xyhkr4gmw

That would add to the rich-get-richer argument. As a large holder, I wouldn't mind, but I got to where I am due to fair staking percentages across the board.  It would seem that it is not the size of the stake, but rather folks who have a shit ton of small holdings and can't or won't use coin control to combine them.

I am not a coder, so it is a bit hard to make suggestions that are realistic, but I would like to see something along the lines of: Microstakes don't stake at all, small holders who are using coin control stake at the normal amount based on difficulty.

Where do you draw the line between micro and small holders? We want to encourage folks to invest in the coin, but also encourage folks to combine.

Is there a way to make the wallet automatically combine multiple small addresses? Again not being a programmer, I have no idea is this is feasible or just crazy talk.
DMD uses an auto-combine on small input blocks so it is already out there.
DMD Developer - "... DMD where split stake normal stake or group stake (merge pile together) is automatic adjusted by wallet code and create a zero micromanagement needed POS experience"

Here are some very interesting articles. If true, and bitcoin is in this much trouble, it would be wise to not fall into the same block chain traps, and restructure TEK to stand alone and become more useful without such a strong tie to Bitcoin.

just a thought. If we are going to hard fork the coin, would it not be better that it happens before being listed on a major exchange such as Polo?

I mean if we do get listed, then have to have everyone update wallets, blockchain right after being listed, it may give the wrong idea about the stability of the coin.

Thought?

I couldn't agree more. However, I don't think the hard fork is going to happen anytime soon... And in the meantime, we should get TEK listed on either Polo or Bittrex.

Is that correct? the hard fork is still a ways off? Thundertoe?Huh care to weigh in???
