81  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New mining hardware for july on: July 03, 2015, 10:27:37 PM
The real question is are they going to be a game changer or just eeking out a tiny bit of efficiency.

Unless Bitmain has been completely sneaky and managed to create a whole new batch of chips on a 16 or 20nm process, the chances are exceptionally good that any gains will be slight tweaks to the efficiency of the BM1384 chip.

And that makes Baby Jesus cry.

We have some good Jews and some bad Jews. Which would you like to hear first?

When you think about it, is there anything backed by anything of value other than knowledge and energy?

I shouldn't feed you Mr.Troll I know this but for the other noobs who read this and are put off let me talk about this.

Fiat isn't backed by labor or taxes and security of the government it is backed by their word, and we have seen this fall in some of the largest most powerful nations on Earth. The Germans, the Soviets and plenty of little governments but the point is no matter how big a nation is an economic collapse can still happen. Gold and Silver are fine to invest in but cumbersome, hard to transfer and able to be counterfeit.
Bitcoin has it's place and it's not going anywhere, a decentralized currency that can be transferred through any border.

Also never trust anyone who says sheeple, they're retarded.

Amen brutha! The US greenback is garbage as are all fiat currencies. Not to mention the global reach of BTC helps protect our wealth from governments - all evil they are.

With my electricity currently at .09USD/kWH and living in a cold area with long winters, my S4s were profitable. They did 90% of the heating in the house all winter saving hundreds on fuel oil costs.

In the summer - not so much.

What version of cgminer are you using? I had to download cgminer for Windows from Bitmain to get rid of that error.

Hi.
I'm using cgminer 4.9.2

I did not try any other version. I assumed the last version would be the best bet!

What previous version should I test?

If you're still having trouble in Windows, this is the version I have working in Windows 7:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/30iccjyrhj9qvrl/cgminer-4.8.0-windows.zip?dl=0

In Linux, I use 4.9.2...just couldn't run long term for me in Windows.

Thank you for that.
I will download it latter.

How many antminer U3 do you connect at the same time to your computer?
I only have problems if I connect more than one

I run two, no hub.

Buy an Antminer S4 and run a heavy duty extension cord to an exterior outlet on your neighbor's house. That's the best way.
91  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: June 30, 2015, 03:16:33 AM
Is anything BUT PACMiC v2 worth buying on Hashnest at this time?

Keep calm and wait for S6 dude Wink
Not worth risking now and worrying to get a few % roi in the end..
Just FYI, BM is skipping the S6 (I believe the S6 was the S4+) and jumping right to the S7.

Bitmain support told me S7 will be released "in July"...no additional info. So yeah, I think you are correct
92  Other / Politics & Society / Re: SHAME ON YOU on: June 29, 2015, 04:00:31 AM
I don't like being told what I can and can't do. I support that for others. I'm not "for" or "against" the same-sex stuff.

I have homosexual relatives and friends, but they're still the same people I loved before I found out they were.

Trashing other people's religious beliefs is ignorant too.
93  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Can someone recommend? on: June 27, 2015, 10:08:20 PM
I may buy a few Antminer S5s.

I'm looking for feedback on this miner from owners...i.e. should I just wait for the next gen given the very slight efficiency over S4s? Also, if I decide to get some S5s, what is a good PSU in terms of "bang for your buck"?

Thanks.
94  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Do you have free power have I got a deal for you!! Free power + old gear on: June 26, 2015, 09:04:18 PM
Someone may have brought this up already (didn't read every post) but keep in mind that people with free power in hotels or apartments may run into circuit overload.

Likely not a problem with older miners, but S4s @ 1400W kill breakers when they stack up.
95  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: June 26, 2015, 08:53:12 PM
Just an FYI...

When I was working with Bitmain support on my dead U3s, they said they're releasing "an S7 in July, but they can't give details".

Take it at face value.
96  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: June 22, 2015, 06:08:44 PM
Bitmain Support replied with the usual troubleshooting steps.

So, I wonder if the FEM is accessible in these rigs.

Anyway, I'll see how far support can help me.
97  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER U3 Discussion and Support Thread on: June 20, 2015, 08:42:16 PM
My two U3s (V2 w/wire cage) bricked a few days ago using the included 7.5 amp laptop-style power supplies. I did not overclock and was getting a consistent 43+ GH/s hash from both using cgminer for windows.

If I plug them into the original 7.5 amp power, the fan "pulses like a heartbeat, but that's it. I tried a new 10 amp psu and they do nothing at all.

Are these dead for good? I have my doubts that Bitmain will do anything about it...suggestions welcome.

Gave you neg trust for pushing this way further than the ebook scam by adding puppet accounts and faked screenshots.

I don't think you're welcome here.

Ah, the ole ebook gambit. I'll take 100, just send me your BTC private key so I can verify your account.

I can't wait to make all that money, I'll donate 50% to the forum admins.
