81  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you using a Public DNS server? your coins are at risk ! on: May 06, 2018, 01:44:36 PM
I always use VPN to transact. I do not know if this is risky or not for me. And so far I am grateful my coins are always safe. Whether through MEW or Exchangers, I'm always wary of using both because we know that Hackers can use DNS from MEW or Exchangers to get Private keys and Passwords. They are smart. However, risk is the part we have to deal with.
I'm using a VPN too, is this safe enough?? (I'm not a tech savvy so i don't have any idea about this) Well, this makes me scared but thanks God my tokens are still safe out there, to be honest I'm just worried about MEW wallet, not exchange since I have enabled 2fa factor though it's not completely safe and bad way storing your crypto out there.

I swear by extensions such as noscript suite which prevent's javascript and other things from running automatically. It's probably better protection that an anti virus, although can also be used in combination with anti virus software.
How about installing extensions such as EAL or MetaMask or Cryptonite as MEW wallet suggested, is this safe enough? in order to protect us from the DNS attack.
82  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is bitminer.io leigit? on: May 06, 2018, 01:11:42 PM
My friend tried this site couple months ago with the free account but he never got any payout though he passed the minimum cashout the reason was accessing the site from different Ip address so they banned his account which is funny. Why you confused while there are a lot of bad reviews about this site out there I might not say that they are a scam but mostly cloud mining is HYIP/Ponzi scheme sometimes they pay sometimes they don't. Let's see if anyone here ever gets paid by this site.

You better check this out : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2291187.0
83  Economy / Economics / Re: tax for a safer crypto environment on: May 06, 2018, 12:49:20 PM
It is a good idea though I don't like if crypto is taken and controlled by the government, it just against the concept of the decentralized.

As far as I know, there are taxes included already on exchange platform we are using, thus applying another one is to much. But I feel like our government is also doing something since bitcoin had been making noise since then. Government will not let themselves not benefited from this new found technology, they will definitely make a move about this.
Yes you are right, if you used centralized exchange and the exchange has been regulated by the government then your it's already taxed, our transaction in crypto it can be taxed if it is traded for cash or other cryptocurrency or whenever cryptocurrency is used to purchase something. However, as long as you use decentralized exchange then it can't be taxed.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: We as a community must boycott Coinmarketcap.com on: May 06, 2018, 11:38:35 AM
Just finished reading the article, thanks btw for sharing this. I'm surprised that they did this to the community kinda disappointed with them. Cmn is one of my favorite site that I visit everyday, checked every coins that I'm holding on. Just wondering how could this is not viral? More people have to know about this issue. I guess we have to look for another, never make only one site as a reference.
85  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: warning, phishing sites in google search on: May 06, 2018, 08:50:57 AM
Well I bet they are the same guys who created blockchaln.info which spoofed in google results couple years ago, by the way, is this referring to blockchain.info ? cause I checked the site as you've mentioned on the op "blockchainnorth.se" it does not even look similar to blockchain.info but totally different it's a site about an upcoming event or something.
The point is never google the site just bookmark it and check the address before you enter your sensitive data.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet choice/safety guide! on: May 06, 2018, 03:37:57 AM
I personally store my coins in several wallets, for a spendable amount i use blockchain.info either for storing btc or ethereum. I'm currently holding a lot of amount of tokens in myetherwallet it may be dangerous since there are so many phishing sites out there and people recommending to move my balance from there. I think I'm gonna go with the hardware wallet, it's pretty safe than those I've just mentioned above.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lets be careful on what we are investing on: May 06, 2018, 03:21:46 AM
It's not a secret that cryptocurrencies became a tool for criminals to steal people's money. In fact, the first information that a lot of people heard from  crypto are stories of scam incidents so I hope they received the message that they should be very careful at all times.
The only way is protecting ourselves by making your own research before you're starting to invest in those projects. The common mistakes people get scammed was they just read the whitepaper and then invest their money they don't even investigate the team behind the project whether the team is legit or not. This is so bad because you know scammer are trying the best to make their ICOs look promising and legit.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your way to find most promising ICOs? on: May 05, 2018, 11:46:39 PM
This is what I do :
- Checking their project, the project must be innovative not a copycut from existing project.
- Make sure the team behind that project is legit (do your own research by checking their profile on LinkedIn, another social media etc)
- Read the whitepaper and roadmap.
- Follow them on social media twitter, telegram etc.
- Read some reviews about their project on the internet.
- Asking the community in this forum.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sell 1,2 ETH and by xiaomi or HODL and by Macbook? on: May 05, 2018, 10:25:34 PM
my personal experience: I bought myself an iPhone SE, and a month later I could buy an iPhone X with the same amount  Grin Grin I am a winner in life Cheesy
Cheesy man it's really sick if we discover our transaction history the price was going up insanely, just don't look at them it's brokenhearted. If we had not purchase that item maybe we could buy something better than it, so based on our experience I'm advising you to hodl your coin maybe for a while until you have enough money to buy the MacBook, I personally will go with MacBook rather than xiaomi.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Check the upcoming important dates for your portofolio on: May 05, 2018, 01:55:07 PM
First of all, thank you for recommending me this site actually I didn't know this site before which is really cool and helpful, I used to list important dates in a traditional way like write it down the date on my note, sometimes I bookmarked the site also and it's really overwhelmed. Anyway after visiting the site, I'm surprised that not only upcoming ICOs out there but also there are some events too.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: How to distinguish real project from scam project? [HELP] on: May 05, 2018, 10:38:53 AM
There is not a formula to detect whether a project is a fraud or not but a good start is to investigate the developers, are they who they say they are? Do they have the experience they claim to have? Everything matches? If there is a single doubt in any of those questions then the best course of action is to not invest in the coin just in case it is a scam.
Exactly there is no way other than do your own research like you said, investigate the people behind that project like checking their LinkedIn account or something, the whitepaper and many more but this isn't totally guaranteed to not be scammed by the project, the point is if you believe that the project is legit and you are starting to invest you have to make sure that you are ready to lose your money, that's all.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There are too many ICOs on: May 05, 2018, 09:38:18 AM
There really are; that's why I only have one big alt holding anymore and that would be LYM.

I feel a lot of newbie investors will come into this market and just feel completely overwhelmed. Ratings sites help a bit in the way of this, but I feel those of us who know how to utilize those properly, which ones are actually worth trusting their opinion, etc.. already have most of the knowledge we'd need to where, they aren't that important.

It's hard to come up with good solutions for the issue here, would have to be a massive community movement.
Did you know that there are some review sites that get paid by listed those ICOs on their site? not all of them but mostly, we all know new ICO spend so much money on promotion and it's really overwhelmed you'll find ads whether on Facebook, Instagram or even on youtube.
The problem is a good innovation will lose with those who have a lot of money and supporters.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can the massive creation of Altcoins can be stopped? on: May 04, 2018, 06:36:02 PM
I was just wondering after the altcoin being successful there have been more unreasonable coin that has been created, hence there are more people will  doubt it, and seriously more and more coins has being created just for profit I mean you can gain some profit off of it but its not the reason why a founder should create one.

After seeing so much coin being created and been abandoned with gaining profit from it made me think that if the new coin stops coming then we could focus more on some reasonable coin and some coin that is currently being developed.
I don't mind if the new coin has a good innovation it will be bad if they just copy cut existing project and earn the profit by doing that. There are so many alternative coins out there but only small of them are really great whether it's feature or utility. However, it is too hard to stop this because people are just don't care about it they just want profit. I think we have lost count of how much coins have been created out there.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Reasons To Buy Ripple (XRP) Today Before The Price Rises on: May 04, 2018, 06:25:58 PM
But I have one reason why we don't have to invest on Ripple (XRP).It is not a decentralized currency so it can be controlled by someone. If the people really don't care about this invest on Ripple. But I don't think ripple has a bright future. So invest on your own risk!
Yeah really mate, I have a big loss in XRP lately I sold all my XRP in my portfolio even if I have lost a lot of this coin.
That's the reason why some people didn't invest in that coin because of a centralized coin and there is somebody who manipulated on it and I think those big politicians who played with cryptocurrency. I didn't see bright side near in the future in XRP.

I bought some ripple couple months ago when the price was 1.22 dollar each, I didn't sell them when it's value going down and now I'm waiting to get my money back, a little regret invests my money in this coin though I expect this coin has a big future. Might agree with you that we should not invest on such a centralized crypto like this one, well let's see if XRP can be successful.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading Cryptocurrencies on: May 04, 2018, 05:54:52 PM
I make several decisions:
1. Do not invest more than 20 percent of my salary.
2. Do not invest all funds in one coin / token.
3. Do not participate in pumps.
4. Before buying a coin / token, study more information about it.
5. Look at the situation on the market, buy when the time bears and sell when the bulls are.
6. Follow the news on a specific coin / token.
Completely agree with you.
The point is don't invest more than you can't afford to lose. In addition, just invest with your extra money and don't forget to make a research about the coin that you want to invest in, there are so many shitcoins out there so we have to be selective in selecting whether the coin has good future or not.
96  Economy / Economics / Re: The global eradication of Shitcoins. on: May 04, 2018, 12:22:55 PM
The "JULLAR" platform allows an investor to return money to his pocket spent on Shitcoins and make a decision, leave money in his pocket or redistribute his own funds, to reliable companies, for a crypto community.

How does that work? I mean what the usefulness of this strategy to the JULLAR company itself or whatever service it is that you are providing. I mean whats the procedure for whole thing and how does it creates the trust network amongst the investors. Do we need to purchase the coins through your service?

A link to the official website, whitepaper or your service would be grateful because your one line doesn't make any sense at all.
Exactly this is what I'm thinking about how do you guys collecting money from those shitcoins?  people have spent their money on those shitcoins and it's kinda impossible to get the money back, though your idea is really helping, people need some details about how does this project work. Instead of collecting those funds it's better if you guys can make some review or something to warn people that those projects are shitcoins.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: trading altcoins with BTC OR USDT on: May 03, 2018, 07:03:52 PM
if i trade altcoin with USDT as it's stable and equivalent to usd ,so i can get my calculations .on the other hand trading with btc isn't that much profitable or sometimes not profitable at all if btc price gone down
Sometimes I converted my bitcoin to USDT in order to protect my asset. I might agree with you but when bitcoin's value is up then you literally earn double profit one from your altcoin's profit and one from bitcoin's profit that's why I like trade btc pairs, if the price going down honestly i didn't worry at all since I believe the price would be back soon. well as people mentioned above not all the coins that you can trade to USDT only btc-pairs.
98  Economy / Economics / Re: can you imagine bitcoin as your prime currency. on: May 03, 2018, 06:48:27 PM
I imagine how long you have to wait in line at the grocery store or supermarket to check out due to long confirmation time (unless you pay a higher fee) bitcoin is really good to pay something online but in real life or paying small amount i think bitcoin isn't suited for that. But to replace something like western union yes bitcoin can do that perfectly. On the other hand, it's really hard to find a shop that accepts bitcoin as payment method due to lack of adoption.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Centralized coins on: May 03, 2018, 06:29:10 PM
Do you think there is a room for centralized coins such as Ripple win over Bitcoin and Ethereum ? What is the good part about centralized coins against the decentralized ones ?
The good part of having a centralized coin is supported by the banks and all I can say it has better future than others however I don't support any centralized coins since it's against the concept that Satoshi has been proposed. Bitcoin is the mother of the crypto and seems like it can't be replaced even centralized coins such a ripple, etherum is different and it has been used as smart contract well basically every coin has their own function. To be honest i just feel like ripple is too far away to compare with bitcoin and etherum.
100  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptoGO, my BIG crypto trading indicators app project needs your help! + job on: May 03, 2018, 03:59:54 PM
CryptoGO
https://cryptogo.tech/

Some of you already gave me feedback which is absolutely amazing after working for months on this.

I would like to ask a few questions to the rest of you to help me develop the app further:

- What is your smartphone OS?
- What feature do you like the most / least in this project and why?
- Would you give the app a try if an airdrop required you to install the app for tokens?

This is really interesting well I'm not a big fan of apple so I'm using an android and i bet so many people here using that operating system too, i guess it's gonna be awesome if you make this available on the Android version, not only ios. Love this idea when people can earn token by being active in the app, hoping that the minimum withdrawal is low. On the other hand if you want to make this project successful you might give some airdrop like you've mentioned in the op and promotion on the internet, just my thought.
