Technically a bitcoin wallet cannot be topped up with other currencies as it cannot hold any fiat. You need to purchase bitcoins and only store the private key in the wallet. No bitcoin will not die. You really just need to wait in order for your transmission to transfer. It is just a matter of time. My friend waited almost a month for him to withdraw his .25 btc. And for you btc you just need to wait or try to better the fees in order for it to become faster.
Actually we have two options: we either wait as long as it is needed for transaction with low fee to be confirmed or we can pay 300+ sats/byte and our transaction will be confiormed within 25 minutes. If I were transfering 0.25 BTC I would definitely choose the second option. Absolutely right, the next 20 years of bitcoin are the golden years for for it. the next 2 decades bitcoin will rule all over currencies. You can go for Google's paid mail service if you are not happy with their free version which most people widely use. I bet you will like their paid service, where you can bind your domain with gmail too.
People who pay for email service usually look into privacy or encryption. Sure gmail does the job. However, you let them collect data from your mails. I also suggest ProtonMail. We are at risk of the email provider collecting data and their is no way we can monitor it or prevent it. At best, Google admits that they collect them but there is no guarantee that some provider will not collect them simply because they say so, as these data is a million dollar business you know. |

Storing your coins in a Desktop wallet would be the safest option as you would have complete control of them and in the event of a split, you could ensure that the coins remain on the chain that you wish or spend them separately on both chains.
However, it is likely that you coins will be fine if left on Xapo. If there was a fork, you would likely on get the coins from one of the chains in this case though. It all depends on how the exchanges chooses to handle it.
I disagree that the coins will be fine with Xapo. Because it is they who will decide which chain to follow. Also in case of spilt, If I have the private key, I can get coins from both parts of the split, while with Xapo they have not clarified the matter. It is most likely they will allow us one chain and cash out in the other chain without giving us anything. |

I wouldn't say it's impossible that bitcoin replaces the dollar / fiat currency, but it's extremely improbable and would take 50+ years. In the US, last year was the first year that more credit/debit superseded cash in volume. Progress takes a lot longer than most people expect, especially when changing a societal norm.

I think that bitcoin is still favorite for investment and it is not overrated in fact its price value gat disturbed with the rumors about the hard fork and the segwit stuff. Thanks God it is now recovering to its original value. It’s ideal price was some three days ago when it was around 1800 to 1900 dollars, even it is the right time to buy it because it will be increasing in near future. |

Yes, the segwit2x software was being implement since yesterday that's why we are seeing that bitcoin and ETH has already recover the dipping we have encountered the last few days. Really happy to see the market going green again. ETH is now almost 250$ while bitcoin is just above $2300. Really good gains and I hope the price will continue to rise. Easy profits for those who have bought when the price is low sometime ago. You should sell out that holding and wait for the market to regain its value. Currently market is red due to split that is going to happen in August. However the good news is bitcoin and coins will be recovering soon enough as was experienced yesterday with recovery phase.
