21  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN]ePay.info, Micropayments and Faucets, Faucetbox alternative [0%Fee] on: June 06, 2017, 06:31:11 PM
I had about 0.005 BTC pending withdrawal for all of April.  They were eventually cancelled and returned to my balance.  I then requested about 10% of my balance each day.  Some transactions were sent on May 17, but they were not combined before sending which resulted in unnecessary fees being paid.

How can they claim to have been hacked after this screenshot? https://prnt.sc/fgnvb4

This is what my withdraw page looks like today.  https://prnt.sc/fgnxos

Withdraws that were requested a week before May 22 are still pending.  I have not received any altcoins payouts either.

I would love for epay to be functioning again, but I believe the only way for that to happen would be to greatly increase advertising revenue.  It might be too late for that.  Trying to catch a hacker, even if they could be caught, is just a distraction.

23  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: WARNING: EPAY.INFO WENT ROGUE, DO NOT DEPOSIT ANY COINS. PROOF INSIDE on: May 28, 2017, 10:55:10 PM
They could have fixed the problem of higher transaction fees with more ad revenue.  By putting a popup on the address login button and a mellow link on the withdraw button, advertising revenue would be 10x higher then just the banners.

I knew there was a problem when I had withdrawals pending for over a month.  They finally cancelled those withdrawals and put them back in my balance.  I requested smaller withdraws and on 5/12 a payment was sent out.  I thought the problems were fixed, so I deposited another 10k.  On 5/17 they sent me three payments on the same day.  All three were sent out in separate transactions.  This is when I knew there was a real problem because it doesn't make any sense why they would send 42k, 43k, and 52k in separate transactions when the fees would be less if they combined them before sending.

If they never send another payment I lost at least 600k satoshi, so I am not happy with epay at all.
24  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: CetoBeto.com is for sale on: January 31, 2017, 09:16:15 PM

There is your problem right there.  The top 3 countries aren't worth anything for advertisers.  Every time a user from Russia, Ukraine, or Venezuela makes a claim the site loses money.  There are simply no legitimate businesses in those countries paying for advertising in BTC, and a faucet needs advertising income to be able to pay users.

This has created a makers/takers situation.  Most users on the site are takers, because they take more then they earn for the site in advertising.  Makers subsidize the takers by earning the site more profits then they claim.  Eventually the makers start to leave because they aren't getting paid enough, while more takers continue to sign up.

This site could easily be fixed with geo-targeted rewards, where users earn an amount based on the advertising income that they personally bring to the site.  Users who are not profitable to the site would get paid less, while profitable users would make more which will encourage more of them to sign up and be active.

cetobeto+scammer He paid you 0,01 BTC that you invest in cetobeto. So you didn't lose anything just free time.

mexicantarget I had some business with Putin and he paid me all time.. Probably Putin hate cetobeto+scammer and decide to not give him 0,03 BTC Cheesy Cheesy

maybe you are right .. he hate me because i saying  all what happened here but he still a GREEDY SCAMMER

It is almost like Russian users don't realize that advertisers pay the same for 20 unique Russian users as they do for a single USA user.  Russians are scamming faucets by using them at all, and one way to keep a faucet from losing money is to not allow Russian users to claim at all.  ALL RUSSIANS USING FAUCETS ARE SCAMMERS!!!!

Russian is only worth 1/20th of American to advertisers.  This is the truth.  It might be racist or unfair but it is just business.

I have talked with the admin of btcpop.co he will add HYP at the exchange on the site.
In this week or the following.

to join btc pop klick the link LuckyBitStake

I sent them an add coin request and they added it later that day.  I didn't realize you had talked to them first.   Grin

This site seems small and the exchange seems new and not very user friendly.  If we try to use this exchange and send them feedback on how they can make it better, it might actually become decent.  The loan and interest earning options are very interesting, and could work well with HYP.  Now we just need a few buy orders and some trades to make it an active market.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: G3N INFORMATION PLATFORM on: August 26, 2016, 08:23:44 PM
Hey Hort!  I laughed when I saw you get banned 15 minutes after it happened because you were drunk.  I actually worried about this exact situation when bittrex delisted.  I didn't think that the ticker symbol was enough to get off of a decently sized exchange.  Trying to argue with hex and saddam about POS coins is like going into a church in the south and making the argument that Jesus was a homosexual.  This is kind of like the situation from a year ago when presstab walked into another such discussion and Hex was saying every POS coin was crap.  Presstab logs on right after Hex said that HYP was crap, presstab responds with something, and Hex calls him a faggot.  Presstab initially asked to be delisted, but then said that it was the communities coin and it shouldn't be just up to him.  The HYP withdrawal fee was permanently raised after this episode.  When dealing with the cryptopia admins it is best to remember they are PoW miners, personally invested, who want scrypt PoW to be successful.

I don't really think that G3N being a yobit only coin (with the GEN symbol LoL!) is really good for this coin.  It might be possible to apologize and explain that you were drunk and probably being an asshole.  Then bribe them with a little DOT to not delist, get them to add a daily draw in return for the DOT payment.  This coin will then be stronger then before this drama went down.

Because of the problem of not making easy money on ETH etc traders looking for other altcoins to make money.
This results in pumping easy to pump coins, first EMC2, XEM, MYR and NAV.
Also they now started with XMG.

These guys works with thousands of BTC to pump coins.
Look what happened on Polo for NAV and now for XMG.

Don't sell your coins too cheap, they can use 100 BTC to let it rise until 0.001 BTC easily
Just wait and enjoy the ride!

Talk of a wallet update and healthy changes to rewards usually get whales interested as well.  Buy the news sell the rumor.  I am just kicking myself now that I didn't use all my money to buy XMG at 1400.   Undecided

One of the unique things about magi is that when hashrate goes up, PoW rewards go down.  Going static rewards for PoW would lead to higher hashrates at all times of the day.  This would lead to higher energy consumption to maintain the network, while one of the goals of this coin is to have as energy efficient of a network as possible.

The problem with going static rewards for PoS would be that sizing blocks would be extremely important.  This would be hard for new users to compete with people who are more staking experts.  One advantage to how staking currently works is that casual users can get normal sized transactions through normal use and they will occasional get stakes.  If there was a better use case for the coin casual users would be able to get stakes.  I personally like how magi stakes, but I just want all of the dust rewards to add up to something slightly more.

regarding pos adjust coin pilesize with the new conf parameter is easy works great create a zero micromanagemdnt required pos enviroment

regarding pow there is ways utilize the less rewards with to high hashrate even with static base blockreward
so similar as now less rewards at to high hashrate and a bit more if to much
but with adjusted diff adjustion with less ways to abuse it
and with a much lower max pow reward

so it should be in area 2 - 10 xmg with the clear aim of diff engjne to reach a average value of 5

The block combining/splitting feature is very exiting.  I have recently been making a daily 10kb transaction to combine my smallest transactions.

Lowering the max pow reward with a better difficulty adjustment might be enough to make things fair.  It will be easier now for stakers to keep weight in the proper range and get closer to expected stake returns.

the most fair way would be switch to a static POS system that rewards each block found
if each POS and each POW block earn static 5 XMG then u have a daily coin rollout of around 7200 XMG
and then slowly reduce the coinrollout over time the close the coin come to its total coins
to make it fair rollout between POS and POW u could just adapt blocktimes to same time so 50% of blocks are POW and 50% are POS

u have to see the positive aspects of POS that are by far not matched by the positive aspects of POW

a static reward POS need u to have ur wallet up and  minting as much as possible for rewards
(i know actual system also punish  closed wallets but still u could just mine every 2rd day and not be punished)

POS increase number of active wallets on network

POS adds buy support because u need to own coins to start earning coins

POS add security by hybrid secure the chain

POW add security by hybrid secure the chain

POW allow get hands on coins without buy on exchange

if u compare that POW have his place but in my opinion sure not above 50% of coin rollout

and its 90-95% of daily coins that goes towards POW rewards

One of the unique things about magi is that when hashrate goes up, PoW rewards go down.  Going static rewards for PoW would lead to higher hashrates at all times of the day.  This would lead to higher energy consumption to maintain the network, while one of the goals of this coin is to have as energy efficient of a network as possible.

You make a lot of great points about advantages to PoS, including active wallets on the network.  One thing that reading your post made me think of is that if 90% of coins are being created through PoW, the network is not as energy efficient as possible.  It takes an insignificant amount of energy for me to stake.  My computer is already going to be on, and it is running other PoS wallets.  When over 90% of coins are created through PoW, we as a network are paying for more energy to maintain the network then is necessary.  Getting the network to more of a 60% PoW/40% PoS creation split would reduce energy consumption while not negatively affecting price or network stability.

Fragilefungi,

I am so glad to see you again and that your wallet was not damaged. It's been a while that I was off this thread too cause I had to recover from pains of real life business; fortunately got over.

Regarding PoW vs PoS, we had some discussions in the past as I remember. To me, it's very hard to go the direction of suppressing PoW and increasing PoS; well, I cannot simply say no with no reasons. I'll talk more on this topic during weekend.

Yes it is always good to have backups.  Medical stuff always sucks and myself I am recovering from dental work recently done and about to be performed.

For an example of how easy it is to trade compared to stake I bought up on Poloniex right after I made the last post with 6.5 mBTC.  A few hours later I sold them for 5000 satoshi more after fees.  The XMG i staked all day was worth 308 satoshi.  I wanted to add coins to my wallet to stake but it just seemed easier to take the 0.8% in 12 hours.

We should also talk about increasing the average hash rate on the network in the most energy efficient ways possible.  I have some ideas and some chips lying around.

I understand your concerns Joe about over-inflation with PoS, but I don't think doubling the PoS rewards would be enough to do this because the actual number of coins created through PoS each day is so much less then is theoretically possible.  There is an efficiency factor for coin creation through PoS that needs to be considered because things happen in the real world and coins sitting on exchanges sell for higher values.

I think that a more fair allocation of rewards would lead more people to want to buy XMG to stake long term.  It would also give people more incentive to mine and hold, rather then having small miners who see mining XMG as another faucet that they can dump each day and use for gambling or other things.   It is more likely that coins created by PoS are going to be held long term then with PoW, which is why I think that making changes will increase price stability and is a goal that I think you want as well.

Maybe a smaller change to PoS to start would be easier.  You could add the staking efficiency factor into the code where Stakerate%/(CoinsStaking/CoinTotal)=Stakerate%

This would only get the number of coins each day created through staking up to what was originally intended.

Hey everyone!  I have been away for awhile but am doing fine.  I hope everyone is well.

My old computer was knocked out by a power surge (It was on a surge protector but still died), and my XMG wallet was offline for more than a month.  I finally got my new computer up and running, and nothing in my magi wallet would stake.  I left it for a few days but all of the weight was gone.  I had to resend all the coins to myself before I could start staking again.

I have read through some of the recent discussion on this thread, and I think what happened to me is one reason why coin creation through PoS is low.  Sometimes coins go offline for so long that the weight is lost.  When miners go offline more coins are created, but when stakers go offline, fewer coins are created.  Even if a transaction is online for a month, there is a nonzero chance that these coins will never stake.

The other reason I think that such a low % of total coins are actively staking is traders.  There is more money to be made buying low from one exchange and selling high on other exchanges then there is from staking.  Traders catch the miner dumps on the big exchanges and sell to stakers for a higher price on the little exchanges.  Arbitration is a good thing for the coin because it keeps the price close on all the exchanges, but I think there should be more of a penalty in terms of stake opportunity cost for traders setting large sell orders and then leaving them there for a long time until they fill.

I think changes can and should be made to the PoW and PoS rewards while still preserving the intent of the original reward structure.  As it is right now, PoS coin creation is lower then intended.  As a result of this PoW coin creation is higher as a percentage of total coin creation then intended.  If more miners were holding these coins long term this would be fine, but otherwise this is bad for price stability.  When price stability is bad, it gives stakers less of an incentive because the loss in price will be greater then the coins gained through staking.

My solution would be to half the PoW rewards and to double the PoS rewards, although I think doing either of those by themselves would be better then doing nothing.  Doing both of these things I believe would get the reward breakdown closer to what was intended, because the number of coins staking would only marginally increase.  Traders could still make quicker profits buying and selling then staking, but the incentive for people to buy coins to hold and stake will be slightly higher. Most of my stake rewards (>90%) are less than 0.1 XMG and many (>80%) are less than 0.01 XMG. Doubling the PoS rewards for me from 5 XMG per week to 10 XMG per week for staking 12k is not going to drastically increase inflation.  If the PoW rewards are also lowered at the same time so that total coin creation is lower, inflation will actually be reduced and price may be more stable.  More coins will still be created through PoW mining then staking, but the breakdown for the rewards would be closer to 1/3 from PoS and 2/3 from PoW, while 2/3 of the number of blocks are still PoS.

Stakers protect the network, and I think that increasing the incentive to stake only slightly will increase the number of people or coins staking long term.  Decreasing the total coins created through a PoW halving will help with price stability and decrease the risk of a price drop to long term stakers.

These are all interesting ideas, but sometimes I get to think whenever LDOGE could be a better Litecoin or Dogecoin replacement due to the fact there hasn't been any new development over the past days, or maybe even months. Is the developer active or abandoned this coin? I would certainly love to have a LiteDoge wallet on my Android device as well as stake the coins on it.  Roll Eyes

There is an android app out and I believe it is posted a few pages back.  Maybe someone could post a link to the download?  I remember the problem for me was that it is just an app file and I don't know how to install apps on my phone unless they are in the google store.

If I have for example 10mil Litedoge, will I receive after 10 hours the staked coins?

Maybe.  The coins will start staking after they mature at about 8 hours.  Chance of staking per hour after that is about 30%.

till now still minting and didnt pay out  Undecided Undecided Undecided

My last four stakes were 55.7 days, 41.2 days, 28.6 days, and 112 days old.  HYP coins keep gaining weight for 30 days.  The coins just START staking after 8.8 days and the probability at that time is >0% but still not very high.
