61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GENSTAKE - G3N - POW/POS on: October 23, 2015, 09:19:06 PM
Hey Hort!  What is the irc channel for G3N?
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [HYP] HyperStake | High PoS | Secure | MultiSend | liteStake | Adv Coin Control on: October 23, 2015, 09:17:11 PM
getting the following error
Unable to bind to 0.0.0.0:18775 on this computer. HyperStake is probably already running.

Failed to listen on any port. Use -listen=0 if you want this.

I don't see it in the task manager.

maybe I have too many wallets running,
currently running net, tek, sprouts, truck

is there a way to change ports?

Thanks

It is probably because truck is running and HYP was forked from truck.  I have TEK running so I know that it doesn't conflict with hyp.  Edit the config file in the appdata/roaming folder to a port that isn't in use

o Use the same username as you use to log into the website.
o Enter a blank password or use password arguments, which enable powerful features for controlling miners and mined coins.

e.g. litedoge.bat file:

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://prohashing.com:3333 -u username -p 12345678 -I 16 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 32765

That is awesome!  You can get paid out in LDOGE straight to your wallet!  The scrypt profitability is quite good.

I mine mostly in other algorithms because I don't have very much scrypt hashrate, only gridseeds.  I am mining with my GPU and my sha256 asic on the multipool xpool.ca and using an address on cryptopia to buy more LDOGE  Grin !  The algorithm I am mining is Lyra2REv2 and I am making a lot more LDOGE then on my gridseeds or even my sha256 asic and this is a video card I spent $50 on  Cool   Here is the bitcointalk for the pool I use https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=650952.0

I have an AMD 8350 that was only about $150, but I need a water-cooler.  It will overheat if I try to mine with it very hard.  AMD chips do cost less than intel for the same amount of hash rate they can produce but heat is a very serious problem.  I was looking at getting this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181029&cm_re=liquid_cooling_system-_-35-181-029-_-Product which is about $50 additional cost.

If for $200 the intel i5 gets 70 khash/sec with the stock fan and the AMD 8350 gets 90 khash/sec with a liquid cooler, the AMD still gets more hash/$ but you definitely have to include that liquid cooler to the price.

I like as it is now, at best will suppress POW.

Maybe if a fork were to be done to a different PoW algorithm, the PoW/PoS distribution could be changed so that a higher percentage of blocks that are PoS are found then currently.  That way people who are currently staking will only benefit.  I suggested Lyra2REv2 only because I can mine that with my $50 video card and get a decent amount of coins.  I don't currently own any but G3N, but I like HORT because he is a nice guy.  Right now I wouldn't buy into any PoW/PoS coin that uses scrypt for PoW because I don't own a 300 MH/s ASIC, and I would buy some to stake if the algo was changed.  New people coming into the coin will be a good thing, and changing the algo to something that can be mined with GPU would probably encourage new people to join other than just me.

i have been looking into diff pools lately just trying things out and i put 1 750ti on ur lyra2 switch pool for the last 4 days.
ur claimed payout on pool stats is way above what i got, like almost 4x more than what i got per day.
unless that payout stat is based on the whole 4 days and not per day which would make ur pool extremely unprofitable/unlucky for lyra2.
and even more so for all the other algos especially x11(based on payout stats on pool stats page).
im not trying to speak badly of ur pool or anything but u should be far more profitable.
maybe just need to do some optimizations or something? but those payout stats should be closer to each day.

I mine on this pool with my single gpu, and have noticed there is a lot of a luck factor.  Some days are really good, and some days are not so good.  You can check the luck of the current block on the pool stat page.  The current block is at 46% and the last block was at 42%, and the block before that was at 64%.  Payout probably isn't going to be great today, and part of the reason that the pool stats were so high for the previous 4 days was because those were very lucky days.  I think more hash on the Lyra2REv2 pool would make luck better and profits more consistent would be getting more hash on this pool, because 250 MH/s isn't enough to be competitive on Vertcoin when diff goes high and other pools have 2 GH/s.

I do have many large inputs, so I am mostly brainstorming to make the barrier of entry lower for new people.  I always recombine transactions when they split below 1m, and I can send coins at that time using the custom change address.  Do you guys think that adding a setstakesplitthreshold command so that transactions wouldn't split below a certain threshold would be a good improvement?
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [XPOOL.CA][Multipool] x11 | sha256 | scrypt | lyra2REv2 - KNC Titans/Large GPUs on: October 21, 2015, 03:35:53 PM
I noticed that if you have exchangeable currencies addresses set but have payout split set to 100% they will be converted to the payout split currency.  Can you make it so that exchangeable currencies with set addresses are paid before the payout split address?

Hrmm I saw your email. We're checking into that and I'm also going to check with a couple other miners that I know do the split as well. I would have expected it to honour any addresses you have set regardless of the split.

Thanks man.  I would have expected that too, so it is probably an easy fix.  I want to keep my DGB so I can stack them up with the ones they give me for playing league of legends  Wink

I checked the #DigiCube room on IRC and no one was there.  What time are you guys doing the rains each day?  Coins don't really have a fair distribution if it isn't possible for normal members to get any and the faucet doesn't work.

What is wrong with the faucet?

There will be more rains within IRC .  Funds are staking for now.
Note that your IRC username needs to be registered in order to withdraw your CUBE.

With that said, in the spirit of CUBE (participation=reward) most of the time, I will use "ActiveRain" command, wich only rains coins on users that have participated in discussions instead of simply idling .

Also, there are other ways to get  CUBE besides faucets and IRC rains. You can get them on 2 exchanges, https://c-cex.com/?p=cube-btc and https://yobit.net/en/trade/CUBE/BTC or by contributing, promomoting, creating service of sort, etc.. the dev has been generous so far to those who brought something to the table, even trolling Wink

So I should just buy CUBE off all you hero members who got them for free?  I guess that is a plan...
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LiteDoge - such Community coin | no premine | very fast | much profit on: October 21, 2015, 06:23:17 AM
The best wallet upgrade would be to add a staketo feature so that the stake rewards can be sent to a different address.  That would get a lot more people interested in this coin because you then could send coins without destroying your weight.

You are not destroying your weight. If you choose to send coins, your weight will be reduced accordingly but, if you were sending your stakes to a different address, you would never have had this weight in the first place. So, it is actually in your favor to receive the stakes with the same address, your weight is bigger till you decide to make a payment and this way you are receiving more stakes.

Now, if you made the mistake to only stake coins from one input transaction (i.e. you have only one incoming payment of, lets say 20 million coins, you just bought a pile of coins and want to stake them), then yes, your weight will be destroyed and moved to a different address (a change address) each time you send out a payment. But, as I mentioned above, it is wrong trying to stake this way, even without taking into account the fact that your stakes would be much less this way (with each stake, you can't stake again till the previous one confirms).

Example: about three months ago, I wanted to introduce a friend of mine to the world of crypto and I chose Litedoge as his first coin. So, after having him setup a wallet, I sent him a large number of coins in transactions of 2,000,000 coins each. This way he could stake them much better and use them around if he would choose to do so, without an impact to his weight. Now he is happy & wanting more and tries out other coins as well.

What you are actually asking above is to have the ability to sell the coins earned from staking. Well, send them to an exchange or to whoever is interested to buy them and you are just fine.

You can't send them for 501 confirmations while they mature.  After 501 confirmations they are already trying to stake again, so sending them destroys that weight even if you just want to send a little bit.  One thing that I would use sending only the stake rewards (staketo or multisend...whatever we want to call it) would be for a faucet that automatically is refilled from my wallet.  Even if this was used for selling stake rewards on the exchange it might actually reduce sell pressure because there wouldn't be the incentive to send all the coins that were used to find the stake to the exchange.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LiteDoge - such Community coin | no premine | very fast | much profit on: October 21, 2015, 06:16:09 AM
StakeTo would be cool, either to an exchange, IRC wallet, wherever.
Some method of not having to dick around w/ inputs would be great too.  i.e. autocombine all sub 100k inputs into block of 2mil and not accidentally send them back to bittrex >_<

Even with the gift to bittrex you are ahead of TallFrodo at least  Wink

That isn't really what I meant, I mean other than buying - holding - staking - dumping, what else is there you can really do with LDOGE ?

It needs direction, but more importantly a purpose, as of right now it has none, other than what I just wrote above.....

I can't possibly agree more to this....
A coin is successful if it is used for actual transactions, meaning that it is used for buying goods/services. The "buying - holding - staking - dumping" strategy kills a coin eventually, if it can't be used for a real reason.
A while back, there was an attempt to attract merchants accepting Litedoge. This is something we should really look after.

I agree with this.  I think the best place to start would be to get more faucets running that are refilled from ad revenue.  Faucets might not be the the largest actual transaction, but they have a low barrier of entry and could get more people who are new to crypto involved.

Nothing actually!  Transaction came through after 1 hour and 20 minutes.  Getting a second faucet would be awesome!  Cheesy

sorry, since when lyrabar is lyra v2 ?
zoom is lyra v2

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=939208.msg12584840#msg12584840  I was pretty sure the fork to v2 was done but it looks like it is just a work in progress at the moment.

Thanks for letting me know about Zoom.  This looks to be a pure PoW coin as well.  I think it would be pretty cool to have a PoW/PoS Lyra2REv2 coin.  It might be better if that coin wasn't merge mined, but if it was PoW blocks would still be found no matter what the coin price is.  Any thoughts?

I claimed CUBE at the faucet and the transaction went through.  Any new faucets yet?

I claimed CUBE again after 1 hour and got another claim.  I checked my wallet and still have 0 confirmations.  No confirmations after 1 hour?  What is going on with this coin?
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MangoCoinz Official ANN Thread - Mine cryptocurrencies on you smart phone on: October 21, 2015, 04:57:27 AM
I did have a problem in a big box store too.  This might be because there was password protected wifi that I couldn't connect to even though I have 4G so it should have been fine using that.

The biggest probem I had was one time when I walked inside the house wifi after being on 4g.  Mining stopped and wouldn't start again even when I clicked to restart timer.  The only way to fix this was to turn restart my phone by turning it off and back on.

Stake rewards fell 8.3% this month, will fall 9.1% next month, and will fall a full 10% the month after that.  Average difficulty is going up as well so stakes are getting harder.  Still a great time to buy LDOGE!
