That seems to be right. The stales will be higher with a higher intensity, but the hashrates will be too. Typically I use a little lower to cut the orphans.
I'm pretty sure that a lower intensity doesn't do anything to help lower orphans; it's simply to reduce your DoA rate so that you're not wasting as many hashes.

I coulda sworn it was the other way around. Oh well. Either way, it helps keep rejects down, and my payrate up. Wink

Roll Eyes I still haven't set up merged mining with P2pool. Sad
565  Economy / Goods / [WTB] Asics Japan Lite-ning Originals on: May 11, 2012, 05:00:42 AM
Just as the title says, these are what I'm looking for:

Blue, Asics Japan Lite-ning track spikes (the first version) in a men's size 10.

I know it's pretty far fetched that these could be found here, but ebay is turning up nothing, and I'm just throwing it out there.

Not quite sure on the price yet. There are 3 newer versions of this shoe that are comparably better. I'm just interested in these based upon comfort (compared to the others).

Pm or post in here (PM will be faster) if you've got a pair, or know where to find a pair at a decent price.

+1 more rep for Dando. Portal 2 is on sale for the next 20 or so hours, so I figured what the hell. I sent BTC first, he promptly gifted the game after. Another smooth transaction and a great seller.

This information may be available, but I can't find it...

What do the coins ship in? I don't see any specification on the coins about grade (I'd be fine with just UC), but I would like my coins to be in a plastic container of some kind... How are they sent to me?

I'm curious to see someone's feedback on one of these transactions. Do post back if you use this service.

NOBODY SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE L WORD
First rule of p2pool: you do not talk about luck
Second rule of p2pool: you DO NOT talk about luck

Such a great movie.

Does that 6950 unlock?

I'm about to get my update going in a second. Will report back.
572  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling FAKE NEW Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Tours for 1.75 BTC Each on: May 03, 2012, 12:21:57 PM
Am I missing something? Why did he pay 13 BTC for a pair that you are selling for 1.75BTC?

There is where it's different for me and you.

My actual is 1250mhash. P2pool.info will give me a range (depending upon when I check) between 1100 and 1500. So that makes sense for me. How long have you been mining?
574  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [360GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: May 03, 2012, 03:51:36 AM
I have a theory that hashrate is being reported incorrectly by p2pool and is skewing the luck calculation. I realise that luck is a comparison of hashes by shares vs hashes in blocks and may not be related to the reported GH/s value, but I thought the numbers below were too compelling not to mention.

My phoenix thread says my hashrate per gpu core is always 380-390 MH/s. It's very consistent. I have 12 cores so that makes for a hashrate range between 4.56 GH/s and 4.68 GH/s

In my p2pool thread I see my total local hashrate usually around 4.8 to 5 GH/s and often up to 5.1 GH/s

Taking the average phoenix hashrate vs the average p2pool hashrate and the result is about 4.62 / 4.9 = 0.94

The most compelling part of all is that I recently switched to ozcoin for a while and they also report my hashrate at around 4.6 GH/s - the reported value by p2pool is never that low.

I had mentioned this before, and I believe someonw responded saying that the reported hashrate from p2pool.info is based upon the shares you have per the time, so you might just been lucky in your share finding which raised the "hashrate" that p2pool saw.

Its nice to see luck increasing a little.

Oh god, all is lost! I ruined it last time and now it's happened again... New P2pool thread rule: NO TALKING ABOUT THE LUCK!

To take a break from the serious conversations going on in this thread right now...

I just want you to know, I'm the one who found the block that broke the 23h 49m without a block drought.  No thanks necessary. But tips are, pay me bitches!  Grin

Lololol
577  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Coinabul - Gold Unbarred [Huge Sale] on: April 26, 2012, 12:13:15 PM
how else do they make money?

local coin shops that I go to sell above spot too, its not new.

I was just confused... Most dealers near me aren't charging 20% over spot on bullion. That's the range I see for UC and graded coins...

Do your prices ever change to reflect the BTC<->USD market, or have you already purchased these items and you have to sell at x price? I don't mean to call you out (I'm sure others have mentioned this), but your prices for bullion are > 20% over spot... What gives?
Our prices update every minute of every day to reflect both markets! Smiley

Also, the price over spot reflects both the manufacture cost of the coins/bars and our overhead.

We're still a small company, so our overhead is large, but we're still very competitive with USD dealers.

Thank you for the answer. It makes sense, I was just curious. Smiley
