@nutildah thanks for the TL;DR hope you update us as the trial progresses.

Using a passphrase nullifies this exploit AFAIK.

I have both wallets, I still like Trezor better regardless... got burnt hard with the Ledger Blue, that thing just sits collecting dust with no support.

Ledger Nano S has been compromised also as shown here. As long as you use a 12 character passphrase Stick has said on /r/Trezor it costs about $1M to bruteforce a Trezor T.

I just had to look though Ebay's terms of service for US stamps, currency and coins. It took a bit of digging. If a listing violated their TOS they would have already taken it down.

This is an interesting article:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/this-rare-physical-bitcoin-can-be-yours-for-99-000

"Only a few hundred remain in the entire world" as a supply metric comparison to the cryptocurrency rookie.

And in the comment section someone asks who needs it, and someone replies Warren Buffett. That's an interesting statement with regards to who would buy a rare safe haven collectible and more importantly why they would buy it.

The parameters of the true importance of the cryptocurrency rookie asset should be established this way given historical comparisons.

Ebay used to prohibit selling loaded cryptocoins but now allows it. Anyone who is dumb enough to pay almost a hundred grand for something worth $15,000 max really should have done his homework. Check recent auctions for 2011 1 BTC Series 2 Casascius coins here.

Only two left in stock.
166  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN] [ON SALE] Northern Cardinal Loaded Note GO GO GO on: July 04, 2019, 10:01:26 PM
I just purchased one of them, do I need to send 0.005BTC + fees to 3N36sCJXN1iQEzjJm7uhXBCZc2g56SppJ2?
How will you know which customer paid and which not?

Sorry maybe for the dumb question...

Krikke

There are no dumb questions:) Most likely email your order number and txid of the .005 bitcoin transaction to the return email address of the order confirmation you got from Polymerbit. Save the txid so you can prove you sent the btc as requested. That should do it.

Thank you the info, but just to clarify:

Cannot anyone see TXIDs, since it is all the same address they have to send to?

E.g. this 0.05BTC with this TXID has not been send by me, but how would they ever know that if I just mail this TXID?

I understand of course we don't aim at cheating...

Transaction IDs are specific to the transaction. Just go to https://www.blockchain.com and enter your txid in the search box you will see you sent the bitcoin to the requested address.

168  Economy / Collectibles / Re: For Sale: 1000 mBTC (1BTC) Physical Bitcoin - Recalescence Coin on: July 03, 2019, 09:11:31 PM

The coin is probably fully funded. However on this board I think you will have a hard time selling without the certificate which has the public key and an identical hologram with the same serial number as on the coin. Might be wrong, but if there are no takers you now know how to get the bitcoin off the coin. GLWS!
169  Economy / Collectibles / Re: For Sale: 1000 mBTC (1BTC) Physical Bitcoin - Recalescence Coin on: July 03, 2019, 07:09:31 PM
OK so it appears to be pretty straight forward.

1. download the Electrum.org wallet.
2. peel off the sticker.
3. Click Wallet, Private Keys, SWEEP.
4. Enter the code from the sticker.
5. SWEEP the bitcoin into your Electrum wallet.
6. move the funds to your preferred wallet.

Does this sound like the basic procedure?

Still, the coin is beautiful. I'd hate to redeem it (wreck the coin) even though the procedure is straight forward. Still looking for a good home for this coin.

Prof.DeLusion.

PS: Is this procedure correct? no need for QR code generators?

First download the Electrum wallet from https://electrum.org/#home install on your Mac and confirm you have a working installation of Electrum. Then you just follow the instructions from the link I posted earlier to sweep the private key from your Recalescence coin. You will have to type in the private key. When you sweep into Electrum all the bitcoin will be sent to an address in your Electrum wallet as a transaction so make sure you have Electrum set to use the appropriate fee. I would set the fee slider all the way to the right to make sure your transaction is confirmed quickly. You can then leave the bitcoin in Electrum or send to an exchange or another wallet.

Note I have not done this in ages so I can not confirm if Electrum will subtract the fees from your swept bitcoin. You might need to send enough bitcoin to your Electrum wallet first to cover the fee for the transaction. Some one jump in and answer this please.

Once you have your bitcoin safe at an address in Electrum you can store or send to an exchange or Coinbase to cash out if that is your intent. I have ignored claiming any Bitcoin Cash from your private keys (worth about 0.06 bitcoin I believe) to keep things simple. Someone else chime in on claiming the BCH.

Yes this is a pain to do which is one reason most of us don't redeem loaded coins, just sell them, but you have a special situation.
170  Economy / Collectibles / Re: For Sale: 1000 mBTC (1BTC) Physical Bitcoin - Recalescence Coin on: July 03, 2019, 05:32:57 PM
Don't enter your private key into any online QR code software.  Get the official wallet from electrum.org and enter private keys on a clean laptop/PC.  Or use a trusted bitcoin mobile for android/ios that allows you to enter a plain text private key (they exist, try mycelium or greenaddress).

I got the electrum.org wallet app for Mac. Where does one put the code from the back of the coin sticker? Im thwarted again.

Prof.DeLusion

Have you installed and have Electrum working on your Mac? If so you should have a default wallet with a balance of zero. I am a PC guy, not Mac but I assume the interface for Electrum is the same. You would just open Electrum and sweep the private key as explained at https://bitcoinelectrum.com/sweeping-your-private-keys-into-electrum/

Take your time, you don't want to make a mistake. If you get stuck at any point post a screenshot or ask a question here.
171  Economy / Collectibles / Re: For Sale: 1000 mBTC (1BTC) Physical Bitcoin - Recalescence Coin on: July 03, 2019, 05:20:03 PM
My two cents: suggest you download and install latest Electrum wallet to your PC from https://electrum.org/#home

Guide to sweeping the private key into Electrum is at https://bitcoinelectrum.com/sweeping-your-private-keys-into-electrum/

You should sweep rater than import the private key as explained here https://99bitcoins.com/know-more-private-key-import-vs-sweep-difference/

Good luck!

believe me or not. if this last high is the future 61.8% retracement level and the ATH from 2017 is the future 38.2% retracement level our next target will be $30k.

Here is another way to use Fibonacci the way my mentor taught me to do Fibonacci extentions. Results agree from two approaches.

Even higher Fibonacci extensions predict $300,000 I wrote about it here.

I started buying way under $40. At that time I saw the promise but still considered bitcoin to be highly speculative and really did not recommend to friends to buy. However when price got up to $400 I started telling my friends that can handle some risk that they better start diversifying into bitcoin. Only one friend took my advice and still didn't buy until over $8000. You can lead a horse to water etc.

Time will tell but with that scratched hologram you may not get any bids unless you lower your starting bid to 1.0 just sayin' GLWS!

We are having a nice recovery so far but don't be too impatient. I would like to see accumulation between about $11,000 and $11,600 for a week or two that would give time for momentum to build before another leg up taking out $12,447. I would hate to see another fast parabolic rise and dump again but that may well happen anyways:)

176  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 30, 2019, 07:24:27 PM
Not a price prediction by any means, just a historical analysis based on a similarity between June 2019 and Nov 2015 local tops:

If we are to litererally follow the 2015 scenario (and we likely won't), then we should bottom at about $8300, then go parabolic from there.
Considering that the graph is a bit smoothed already, I say that 9300-9600 might be possible, short term.
In Nov 2015 we went 20% down in the second leg, almost vertically.
That would be about 2200 points now, give or take.
I am not setting up buys there yet, though, as the whole thing is purely theoretical...for all i know, maybe we will just continue the bull from here.

If like me you follow point and figure charts the weekly indicates a reversal at $9412:

Others would look at the daily 50 SMA now at ~ $8900. Daily Ichimoku Cloud support is at $8000. Me, I would not like to see price break through the $10,000 level.

Sentiment check. Moon or doom? Smiley

Was $13,800 the top? Was $10,300 the bottom?

IMO moon and $13,800 was not the top. Follow 3 day RSI and look for a top to form when 3 day RSI is over 90. I believe $10,300 was the local bottom.

Breaking out of this triangle to the upside in 3, 2, 1

Target 12500

Nice call just broke overhead resistance at $12100.

I believe all these sets came in a white cardboard box with the BTCC logo and set number (see this auction.). Do you still have the box for the plastic case?
