It is very nice to see one of the coins we inspired from when creating OK (SDC), gets inspiration by OK as well, its cool to see they started sharing their blockchains in an "Instant or Fast chain zip method" - First started by OKCash to ease users sync since early 2015.
Same way among others, they started to follow OK "versions" nicknames on releases, trend OK started also!
All this helps the ease of adoption and increase the excitement of new crypto users, great for the crypto environment!

Nice find! And it comes in a 1TB version as a kit with cables and power supply for only $80. Says it's specially designed for low power, but a little bit of a bummer that it requires those additional cables and there's only one option for a case because you couldn't use a standard enclosure without mods. For high capacity it seems like the best option though. Any opinions on either of these? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BGTG2A0http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010Q57S62TT Thanks for sharing! That is correct, those are the new HDD for pi by WD, Let me share you the advantages of each so people can decide. HDD - Best IO speed (reading/writing) on Disk + the big storage (it is like a pc/laptop/mac harddrive) Great Speed, reliability, Size.(cables) USB - Great IO speed (reading/writing) on Disk (less than HDD but great for storage device, way faster IO speed than any kind of SD(micro, normal, etc). Good speed, reliability, Size, plug and play (no cables) MicroSD - Lowest IO speed (reading/writing) on Disk, SD cards have a limited number of times they can be rewritten, so eventually they get corrupted, it is a FACT. DO NOT USE FOR STORAGE OF YOUR BLOCKCHAINS, and ALWAYS make backups of your wallet, no matter which solution you apply. Let me do special section on this: If you already have a Blockchain on the microSD, eventually tend to get corrupted because of the rewrite process, please move it to a USB storage device, there are instructions on the Info files on desktop. ROKOS CARE FOR YOUR SAFETY, FOR EVERY IOT USER: DO NOT USE MICROSD CARDS TO STORE YOUR BLOCKCHAINS, USE The MicroSD only for the OS and Files, USE USB/HDD or BETTER STORAGE DEVICE FOR THE BLOCKCHAINS (Data dir). I only use Capitals so people read it, is not a scream or nothing more than a caution for your safety in long term and so you can be informed. From the links the USB is a great option, thanks for sharing!

I've set up 4 Pis with ROKOS flavors and fully synced the Digitalcoin blockchain, nearly 2M blocks, on each. 3 of them will be given away at Coinfest UK.
I highly recommend a good micro SD card. I'm using 32GB SanDisk Ultra cards.
Yes, they struggle a little, but I expected as much using a device with a weaker processor and less memory than my phone.
Note to new users, and something that should probably be added to the set up instructions: The default keyboard layout is set to something other than the layout for my keyboard, so at first I was not able to type a - (dash) to access the config menu (sudo raspi-config). I poked around the keyboard and eventually found the correct key, then changed the keyboard layout through the config menu options.
All things considered, I would consider ROKOS flavors a huge success and a wonderful contribution to the crypto community.
TT
Great Tips! ROKOS has been optimized to run at a minimum of 8Gb microSD cards, (to provide options to every user) The 32 Gb size is a great recommendation and gives the OS more storage power to work at. Thanks to everyone involved, ROKOS would not be what it is without the different communities participation and users feedback.

Got ROKOS up and running with very few problems. I simply copied my Energycoin folder over to ROKOS and thus had very very small wait time to sync the wallet. I will post pics later.
For those of you who use ROKOS, I did run into a problem getting it online with WIFI. The problem is in the network configuration file. You have to change the wlan0 manual to DHCP. I do not have the time to post instructions on what I did, but most likely will in about 2 hours.
All, in all though, the installation was not a big problem.
Thx Harcon, I was trying to download for 4 days but I had patience to wait more days and stop the wallet @ block 1.55M and copied my PC blockchain to the hidden .EnergyCoin folder. The wallet I had already filled and staked on my labtop. So my full RPI-node is no up and running! I go tweet about this and I hope 100 extra RPI nodes before summer! Retweet: https://twitter.com/GEO_Jan/status/708929694335369216Awesome! Let the Crypto Re-Evolution begin.

(...) The mining PoW process lasted 15 days without halving to make it fair for every miner no matter when they started with the coin. (...)
In other words 100% of the coins went to people who mined it during those 15 days? Everyone else has to buy from those few people who got all the coins? That doesn't sound quite right. NOPE From ANN: PoW Ended at block: 33,186 Total coins at the end of Pow/Pos Hybrid Period: 36,297,000 OKCash Max Cap: 105,000,000 OKCash Full POS started: Dec 9th 2014 Proof of Stake Stake Rewards: 69% 1st Year (block 531,257) | 20% 2nd (block 1,022,514) | 10% 3rd (block 1,523,771)| 6% 4th Year on wards Can you clarify though. Certain number of coins were gotten by miners in a 15 day "mining PoW process"? Are all coins that exist now either those coins or coins derived from staking them? That is correct, the initial distribution got its proper announce for release, and everyone was able to mine it directly while the PoW phase lasted, The coins have been trading over different markets for over a year with good volumes, and a multipool got released by the community where people continue to be able to mine OK with different algos, all coins created ever since are and will continue to be created and secured by the PoS system, which gives the hability to any user that would like to participate and use OKCash to mine it (stake) directly by getting some coins in the wallet without the need of expensive and specialized hardware, saving a lot of energy in the process making OK more accesible, environment friendly and long term sustainable than PoW.

Rokos seems to be pretty neat little device and great idea. I just read the instructions and have stumbled upon this one: ---Prepare the MicroSD/MicroSDHC card--- (I did this on a Windows computer, and I dont know what tool to use for Mac to install the iso file Image burner, for this guide you will have to figure out that yourself, if you use Mac) 1. Download and install SD Formatter 4.0 (This is the tool to format the SD card) from: Windows: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/eula_windows/SDFormatterv4.zipMac: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/eula_mac/SDFormatter_4.00B.pkg(or find it yourself at: https://sdcard.org/downloads) 2. Insert the MicroSD/MicroSDHC card into your PC/Mac. (You will probably need an MicroSD to SD adapter for this). 3. Start SD Formatter 4.0 and click the [Option] button. In there you change from "FORMAT TYPE: QUICK" to "FORMAT TYPE: (FULL)Erase", just leave the "FORMAT SIZE ADJUSTMENT" in OFF and click the [OK] button so start the format. When the card is completely formatted click the [Exit] button to close SD Formatter. 4. Download and install Win32 Disk Imager (This is the iso file Image burner) from: Windows: http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/files/latest/download5. Download ROKOS Core (rokos5.img.zip) and unzip the ISO file (This is the awesome ROKOS Core "Operating System" that we are going to install on the SD card) from: Download: http://bit.ly/rokos5flavors(or find it yourself at: http://rokos.space6. Start Win32 Disk Imager, press the "little blue folder" and select the "rokos5.img" file that you did extract. Make sure your SD card is selected in the list to the right and press the [Write] button. It will tell you that it can corrupt the SD card, just press [Yes] to continue the installation, when the installation to the SD card is done press the [Exit] button to close Win32 Disk Imager. Could you please explain why formatting with SD Formatter is needed, if the card will be completely re-flashed by Win32 Disk Imager? It seems to me the points 1 and 3 and redundant, unless you know something I didn't think of. This tutorial was made by a community member, It might seem redundant but there are a lot of cases where using the SD formater will help, for example if the microSD has a format non readable by windows or the OS where it will be burned, SD formater is low level format (erase) so restores the MicroSD to original state, same way it helps on MicroSD cards that have lost space, if we select the resize option, it will format the MicroSD and restore its original space, so it ensures users will have no errors at all when doing the next steps. Hope you like the System, feel free to share screenshots on twitter with the #fullnode tag of your favorite currency.

Hi, Already tried to reach Staisybit on slack with no answer, could you guys please help the OK users issues over staisybit, it seems that aside of the wallet been locked not staking (or off) OK users can not withdraw their OK, Please help them so they can have a nice experience at Staisybit, they are already nervous about loosing their coins. Thank you Just to set the record straight: I just withdrew 2540.0000000 OKcash from my StaisyBit account. They sent me an e-mail (to the address that I used to register with them) with a confirmation link. After accessing that link, in a few minutes I had the coins in my wallet. Check the transaction at https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ok/tx.dws?1359971.htmThat means the StaisyBit OKcash wallet is on-line but not staking... but given the fact that the 2 most wealthy addreses are staking like hell, it can be understandable. Anyway, best place for my coins will remain my own wallet(s), especially with the release of ROKOS v5 (flavors and core). Thanks a lot for your feedback, I also believe and know staisybit is legit, they are just doing their upgrade, but have seen that user complaining for a while now, so just thought i should report it, their wallet is not staking because it is locked, the way OKCash staking works checks for % to make sure it pays accordingly no matter if you stake 1 million or 100 OK, you should get your stakes either way, the only difference could be the time to get it but everyone that is staking (unlocked) gets it, they already accepted and said on previous posts that it was decided to lock OK wallet while they do their upgrades (just to clarify). Thanks for your help rmd you rock!

Thanks to all the participants, it is an honor! If anyone presents issue with their wifi dongles here is a nice and easy feedback solution by Harcon. Should have no issues with ethernet and most wifi dongles. It is alive! Well, almost. I have to find a place to keep my Pi that my 6 cats wont get to. They would kill the poor pi if i left it out. If you use ROKOS with an Ethernet cable you should have no problems at all with your connection. However, you may find a situation where your using a Wifi dongle and you are successful in getting it to connect but you can not go any place on the net or use your wallet. This is how I fixed it. 1.Sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces ( in terminal ) 2.You should see a few lines of configuration already there. At the top of those lines of configuration add: auto wlan0 3. find iface wlan0 inet manual and change manual to dhcp. 4. At this point you may pres cont X and it will ask you if you want to save changes. Type y and restart. BAM! you should now be good to go. Also note that when your wallet is syncing you may lose control of your mouse. This seems to be not a big issue as it comes back. You may have mouse problems until the wallet is running for a min or 2 and everything settles down.
