121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are There Ways Late Adopters Like Us Can Benefit from Bitcoin? on: August 01, 2024, 06:27:44 PM
First of all, you are not a late adopter, OP. Late adopters  are people who start using the technology once it hits mainstream, so it becomes widely used. How many people you know in real life who use bitcoin? How many of them even know what bitcoin is? Do you know when late adopters will come to the space? When bitcoin wallets are integrated into bank accounts. When phone manufacturers start adding them like they add google services. When you don't have to buy gift cards anymore but can use bitcoin directly on Amazon and other online stores.

If you want to benefit from bitcoin, hold it and don't try to compare it to other things because this month gold will do better and the next it will be the stock market. Hold it for 3-4 years and you'll see how well it performs in longer time frames.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Coupon games vs casino games. on: August 01, 2024, 06:05:34 PM
I actually know some statistics from playing, reading articles and simply being on this forum for a while.

So, Slots is the winner of all the competitions, but one. It's the most popular casino game, generates the most income for the casino and is pretty fair towards players because it usually pays out around 98% of the money, so almost everything you drop into the machine will be distributed among players who win. It's basically a game where players pay for what other players win and the casino generally takes just 2% of that.

The highest chances to win in any casino games are in blackjack and it's also one of the most popular casino games.

Casinos are much more popular than sports bets and generate more revenue. The global market cap of casinos is around 300 billion and sports betting market is less than $90 billion.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum could afford a 51% attack on Bitcoin, and profit greatly from it on: July 31, 2024, 08:46:40 PM
firstly. the linkage of the movements of the bitcoin and ethereum market are clear that ethereums market is shadowing bitcoin. because bitcoin has known market cycles and if ethereum was independent it would not be following bitcoins market cycles. so when it does follow bitcoins market cycles, its obvious that its ethereum that is the follower

That's a great point.
ETH would not profit from attacking bitcoin because:

1. It would have to allocate tremendous resources into that and it would not destroy the network. All it would do is prove that with enough effort it can be done, but we all know it can be done and we all know it such attack cannot be sustained. It's like a DDOS on the whole country. You could do it and cut a country from the Internet for a while, but how much it would cost you and how long would you be able to sustain it?

2. A panic on the bitcoin market would most likely cause a panic on all other coins. If this attack was only to buy more of everything, that might work, but it would not make people flock from one coin to the other. The whole crypto industry is a big ecosystem.

3. What do you thing would happen if bitcoiners found out Vitalik and team are behind the attack? He'd climb above SBF and CSW to become the most hated person in the industry.
124  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Time for Musk to advertise for Kamala. on: July 31, 2024, 08:33:38 PM
It's funny but at the same time, it's not. Let's wait and see how much views it's going to get. To think of it though, I wonder why this should rack in many views. Is it because it's Musk retweeting or because she's trying to mock herself? Huh

It's funny because it's true.
Especially this: I was selected because I am the ultimate diversity hire. I'm both a woman and a person of color. So if you criticize anything I say, you're both sexist and racist.

This is the kind of rhetoric that so many people use nowadays.
I'm (enter one or more from the list below) so I'm special. If you criticize me, you go against the whole group that I belong to.

Women
LGBT
Unknown gender (can't decide)
Minority
Single mothers
Climat change activists
Vegans
I'm sure you can think of a few more

I had a laugh when they attacked JD Vance for saying that Americans should have more kids because according to them he meant white kids, while his own kids aren't even white.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kamala Harris is Considering Anti-Crypto Senator As Running Mate on: July 31, 2024, 08:17:51 PM
And they were spreading rumors that she's starting to be pro bitcoin, that she was in talks with some people from the industry... all bullshit IMO.

Kamala is a communist and all commies are about redistribution of wealth. People in the crypto industry represent the upper class to these communists. We have enough money that we can spend it on investments in the tech sector, while the poor working class is struggling Wink

As for Every Garry being anti crypto, I think that Gensler isn't completely against it. He's pro bitcoin, as long as the US is in control. He'd like to cut everything libertarian and decentralized out of it and leave it a stock on the market that they can shut down if it gets too big or close the trading session if it moves too much.
126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't like the idea of governments holding millions of Bitcoins. on: July 31, 2024, 08:05:22 PM
- The US buys 1-2 million BTC, other states/central banks like the ECB, China and India follow, and together they hold let's say 5-7 million (about 25%-35% of all existing Bitcoins).

I'm sure you are aware of the fact that all bitcoins on every single exchange in the world added together is less than 4 million? Buying 5 million bitcoin is impossible, unless you're able to strike deals with holders like microstrategy and buy out ETFs.

So, in an extremely unlikely scenario that a nation state wants to control 3 million bitcoin, the price would go crazy. It would not be a million dollars per coin crazy but rather 5 million or something like that per BTC.

If you suddenly saw someone bidding 5 million for your coins, would you sell it all? I wouldn't because I'd smell conspiracy. I'd maybe give them 1 BTC just for fun to see if this is real and hold the rest to see what the fuck is making them crave it so much.

Also, check how much they'd have to spend to buy that amount at these prices because this would require some serious printing.
127  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Kamala Harris be the first apolitical U.S. presidential candidate? on: July 30, 2024, 07:55:59 PM
Are Democrats stupid or something?

I think you already know the answer. However being stupid isn’t dangerous itself. They are also doing lots of shady/illegal stuff which people need to be careful about.

Few days ago everybody was saying that Kamala was leading in the polls by 2%. How the fuck could that be? That’s clearly an act to manipulate the election results. it might not be illegal but it is shady af. Nobody in the right mind believed those fake news.

They were obviously lying because when the media screamed about her leading in the polls she wasn't even an official democratic candidate.

Now more credible sources say she's a point or two behind Trump, but that's also bad because this means so many people chose to vote for that communist.
Imagine that, you're in a country that fought communism on all continents. That went into a long cold war against a communist country and fought in the WW2 against socialist Germany.
Now you have all those people vote for a communist president, against all the values their parents and grandparents fought for.
It's crazy.
128  Economy / Economics / Re: Luxury items stock will be good way to go on: July 30, 2024, 07:42:46 PM
The problem with luxury brands is that they aren't like gold. They have their own leaders and these leaders can make mistakes that can lead to depreciation. Balenciaga is a good example of this, but many brands had their own fuckups.

Cars are much better, but they're difficult to maintain. You can't just buy a Ferrari as an investment and hold it parked somewhere on your property. You need a garage, oil changes, you have to keep the car clean and insured and all of this costs you money.
129  Economy / Gambling / Re: BC Game account locked. on: July 30, 2024, 07:26:29 PM
Can some one explain to me why accusers on this forum are used to using new forum account to complain? Are they scared that they can ruin their reputation on here or what? Because true the told I don't like doing this, it makes me look guilty straight out of the box, what do you have to lose if you are right? And even by the end of the day if you are the one at fault you can always say sorry and move on.

I am so sorry to say this but on a norm it looks suspicious that you are using a new account to make complain, and few comments are even asking you for better proof too, if you are going to use a new account to hide you should come up with everything you got that will nailed BC game to the wall without anyone asking you for anything.

It's not a rule that new account= false accusation. He posted a screenshot of a message he got from the casino and I haven't seen anyone say that it's fake.

Let's focus on the proof provided by the poster, not on his account. If this is true, the casino is overreacting, at least in my opinion. They also took his money which wasn't gained by cheating, so the casino is stealing players money. If they wanted to be fair they would have told him that he's going to be kicked out of the casino and should withdraw immediately.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you sometimes get irritated by excess bitcoin fees ? on: July 26, 2024, 07:21:42 PM
Literally never. Yes, I did not like how idiots were paying hundreds of dollars in fees, effectively blocking payments for others, but I knew this was going to pass and these people will realize they lost money.

It's like when the herd is stampeding you can either try to stop it, go with it, or stand on the side watching. I choose the third option.

Fees are great right now. If you have old UTXOs it's a great idea to consolidate at the moment, because if we go to a new ATH later this year you're going to face much higher fees.
131  Economy / Gambling / Re: bookmaker refusing to do KYC in advance - fortune jack btw- on: July 26, 2024, 07:15:43 PM
Sounds like you're in complicated situation, it's true that most casino don't ask KYC in advance only after you request withdrawals for a certain amount. While your concern is somewhat reasonable but you can't force a casino to change its policy regarding KYC. So either you follow them (asking KYC) or change casino at the very least.

You're right and here's the important part:

OP is aware that there are sometimes problems with KYC. He wants to do KYC early so that he won't be scammed after winning a few grand.
Casino doesn't want to do KYC before withdrawal and I know why. They hire people to handle sensitive data and these people are paid either by account or  hourly, so doing KYC for OP will cost the casino some money. They don't want to do it for a client that may never deposit anything.

This thread should serve as a warning. Fortunately we have many casinos on the market, competing. If FJ doesn't want to do this, maybe others will. Those who need that kind of service should go somewhere else and maybe casinos willing to take care of them will post in this thread to get some customers. If I were a community manager I surely would do that.
132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your easy guide to Crypto Gaming on: July 26, 2024, 06:55:52 PM
Duelbits is nice, but all I can say about it being "nice" is due to not many complaints and a long time running signature campaign.
I'm unfortunately unable to try the site and I don't want to risk being caught with VPN and having my funds stolen by the casino Wink

Also, after reading some of the points I still don't know why I should choose Duelbits.
Saying that you use best security measures is like saying "we won't tell you why you should trust us, but trust us, your money is safe!"
And let's not forget that our games are safe because of "technology" Cheesy Imagine a manufacturer saying "buy our phone because we have the best technology and we have the best security" That means nothing!
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Huge win that turn into loss scenario on: July 26, 2024, 06:45:10 PM
Huge win that turned into a loss scenario oh frenn believe me most of the people here in the forum already fell after winning and turn into a loss hahah. the greed is really there frennn in our body just waiting to be activated haha. But seriously tho sometime even myself can't control it greed is very delicious, there is a point that I win and then I bet more and win again and when I hit the final round I just lost all of it because I think its gonna be win again but in reality that is not gonna happen because gamble chance is still 50.50 hah

The advice is we need to make sure our greed take control of our body just by withdraw after win big haha

That's simple math and statistics. If you play long enough the house edge alone will make you lose. The deal is to win in a certain number of moves, like you do in chess.

The only way to attempt this is to go relatively all in from the start but it's in our nature to start slow. We all think that if we play low stakes we'll be in control of the game, but all we're doing is prolonging the inevitable.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should I quit playing slots? on: July 25, 2024, 08:00:33 PM
That's why I don't play slots.

I won't say this or that game is rigged because I haven't played enough of it, but I just can't get anything out of these games. It feels like all I'm doing is killing time and losing money. I'd rather go to the cinema or something for $20 than lose it pressing a button for nothing. Every time I play slots I always lose. I don't even get that $30 bonus OP is mentioning. In my games it's straight up loss.

Should you stop? Don't know, but after losing $200 on that one game I probably would switch to something else.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All eyes On Trump As Kamal Harris Gives Up On Bitcoin Conference Attendance on: July 25, 2024, 07:48:06 PM
Never in good taste to try and curry favour with someone, and then when it fails, turn on them. Come on, we're better than this, aren't we? If she were imprisoning developers, why would you invite her in the first place?

Surely we're supposed to be better than this (I know we're not, but heh).

I agree. This looks like a money grab by the organizers. They want to kiss everyone's asses so much only to get their names on the list. Since inviting Trump paid off, why not invite Kamala, right? While we're at it, let's invite Brad Sherman and Elizabeth Warren. There's freedom of speech. If people like that want to attend and speak their mind they should be allowed to do so, but I wouldn't invite them.

I like politics, but I feel like we could use less politics in bitcoin.
136  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden drops out of 2024 race on: July 24, 2024, 11:26:04 PM
Maybe you haven't paid attention that she has degree in political science and economics. That she graduated with a Juris Doctor,  has been worked as district attorney, attorney general and in U.S. Senate. Etc...

Craig Wright has a PhD. Does that make him smart? I don't care what she is on paper, but what she says in public, how she acts and all that tells me she's not very smart, or maybe just socially awkward and cannot speak in front of a camera? Just listen to some of the things she said and google her best quotes. She's a master of speaking without actually saying anything.

That exactly what I have thought about the current state of this race, to be honest. People are underestimating the degree of sexism there is still rooting within the society of the United States, it was already difficult for the people of the United States to elect their first non-white president why Barrack Obama..I simply do not think American society is actually ready for a non-white woman to become their next commander in chief and leader of the country. Trump will capitalize on those who believe the president of the United States is supposed to be a man, instead of a woman, that is for sure.

That's why she will play 2 cards at once this time. Woman and minority.
137  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Kamala Harris said to have broken all political fundraising records on: July 24, 2024, 11:17:31 PM
Excellent post. Thanks.
Partially saves me from endlessly venting my frustration at the imbecile hyena and her associated media channels and supporters trying to pull the wool over people's eyes.

In the end much of the woke culture is / has been a grift and is obviously WHY someone like Harris can even be a presidential candidate.

But finally the likes of Disney are suffering badly because of it.

I suspect the pendulum will swing pretty far back eventually and that will include in politics.

If not, the USA simply won't exist.
There is obviously a limit to the number of border crossings a united country can handle.
But perhaps some people just don't want to ever admit to that, no matter what happens.

That hyena pictures they were posting were spot on. Since you mentioned Disney, she reminds me of The Lion King movie and how they laughed there.

The way I see it, if she becomes the president she's going to do exactly what those people in Signature and Silicon Valley banks did. She'll sing and dance and learn new pronouns and won't address the real problems. She'll make sure there's equal number of men and women everywhere and that they have a person with a degree in gender studies in every major US company. She'll spend money she doesn't have, print more and send it to Ukraine, while paying people to deconstruct the Trump's wall. She'll have a laugh with other presidents, talk about the weather, healthy food and hair stylists, and let the things go their own way. At least CNN, Disney, Netflix and other wokesters will be happy.

As for the donations, they should have managed SBF better, maybe put some agents to work so that he would focus on the company more and not on choosing apartments for his parents. If they did that, hyena would now have more money to run her campaign.
138  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why NATO protect ukraine ? If ukraine did not join with NATO on: July 24, 2024, 06:21:36 PM
The question why NATO help so much ukraine If ukraina not joined with NATO.

They do help, but do they protect Ukraine? Of course not.
If NATO protected Ukraine they'd simply shut down air operations. They'd declare that airspace belongs to NATO forces now and they'll target any flying object, including missiles, drones and all that.

How should Neighbors of Ukraine react to it being attacked by a much larger and more powerful country? Should they stand by and watch it unfold and then possibly face a similar attack in a few years?
All countries have allies and they choose sides and most of Europe is on Ukraine's side in this conflict.

Quote
We live on the world where every countries have rules and regulations by world ageeements what can Do what can not.
Military actions against other countries is allowed per say.
In this case russia don't do nothing against rules?

This is questionable because Russia did not officially declare war until March 2024. Russians started to murder Ukrainian border guards and civilians just like that without any official statements.
Russia attacked humanitarian aid, bombed hospitals and train stations where people were using to evacuate. If Russia really wanted to defeat Ukraine, why did it focus on residential areas so early in the conflict? Why did Russian soldiers shoot at civilian cars and murder prisoners? Are you sure that no rules were being broken?

139  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken Mt Gox BTC Just Arrived ... on: July 24, 2024, 06:01:49 PM
Good for the people being paid back after so long. Maybe not so good for the price though, in tge short terk at least. It’s difficult to know how many creditors will sell as they already had a forced HODL of over 10 years, it means they are fully aware of what Bitcoin can do. I don’t think we will see as bad a sell of as some are predicting though. The German government sold over 50,000 Bitcoin in a couple of weeks, the market absorbed those sells well so hopefully we see similar here.

Let's be objective here, the price is doing great. We were more or less in the 60-70k channel for months now and with the fact that 68k used to be the ATH since 2021, 66k is great.

For the whole bear market of 2022-23 I've been telling myself and people around me that anything below 50% of the ATH is a bargain and that I'd never sell below that point.
That said, everything above $35k is fair game, but everything above $50k is great. I'm not going to go into euphoria and dump my bitcoin because it's at 60 or 70k, but I'd be far from depression seeing a drop to $50k right now.

Good luck to all the Gox victims, I hope you'll never get out 100% and leave yourself at least 10% of what you received because bitcoin won't care if you sold. It will keep moving forward at its own pace and you're going to be left behind.
It's really funny seeing these people write things like: it's good gox went down because we would have sold earlier and now we can sell for more. If you know that this is how bitcoin operates, why would you sell at all? You have an appreciating asset in a world of depreciating money and you're like "I finally can sell this shit!" Cheesy
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin seen as a gateway to financial stability? on: July 24, 2024, 05:40:56 PM
I don't like many things but I have to endure them. Wink

There will always be people who want to make quick money and don't blame them. What would you do if you had a family to take care of and not enough money? I'm in fact happy these people choose bitcoin over some shitcoins that offer ridiculous gains of 200 or 300 % a year and there are suckers who believe they can pull it off because shiba inu or some other pepe coin went up x%

People have to grow up in crypto to understand how to make money in a safe way. Many people learned that by getting burned over and over again and going through the depression phase a few times.
