If you are only investing to hold bitcoin then you are only buying in to a bubble. Go away, were trying to build something better here.

I made an observation today when checking bitcoinstore as to the progress of the 850k run. It had moved back about 6k$ between refreshes, dont know what to make of it, but I tought I should mention it.

I believe, most forum members here took them both and asked for seconds.
444  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Making BTC with spare bandwidth? on: March 25, 2013, 07:00:09 PM
One thing I don't have is spare hashing power, but I have a lot of extra bandwidth that just sits wasted. Any way to turn that into BTC?
Wifi acces in an unusual location could in theory work.
[edit] and by unusual I mean a popular park downtown or something along those lines, wouldnt expect to get rich with it tough.

I would like to take the opportunity to state that I would consider any advice from DeathAndTaxes more solid than anything else on these forums. I've read over a thousand posts by him and I cant remember a single instance of him being wrong on facts.

I prettymuch learned all I know of mining by reading he's posts Smiley
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cairnsmore1 - Quad XC6SLX150 Board on: March 21, 2013, 06:54:16 PM
A little update to my board problem..

(The Board did not work at all anymore.. even with a 160MHz bitstream it produced only invalid shares..)

It's working again.. Dont laugh, but i put the board in the fridge, as I've always seen some valid shares, like 2 or 3 valid shares, before only HW errors occured so I always had the feeling it has something todo with temperatures overheating, but when touching the thermalblock or the bottomside of the board it was always handwarm..

Well.. I put it in the fridge, it runs smooth for about an hour with the 160 MHz stream.. I've now installed the 190 MHz bitstream and it is still running in my fridge with 3 degrees C ambient temperature.. As soon as I take it out it produces invalids only within seconds..

As I've mailed Enterpoint for service they replied basically that they have no time for service, it'll take about 12 weeks and I'd have to pay for it too as I've bought the board from a forum member I'll probably take apart the coolers myself and renew the thermal compound. Nice service for such a expensive board..

Very strange problem as temperatures feel totally normal...

oc

Im sure someone else, with a larger vocabilary in english can explain this better.. but here goes. I believe somewhere in the soldering on the board you have a hair fracture. When this happens for gpu's, motherboards or whatever, the diy-procedure is to bake it in an oven at a specific temperature for a given time. Im not going to suggest any temp or time, as this is a subject I really dont have any first hand experience on.
448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Memory Downclocking on: March 21, 2013, 06:05:58 PM
I've read several mining guides and all of them suggest to clock down the  graphic memory. I've done this and found absolutely no difference, hash rates didn't change, and power consumptioan stayed exactly the same, so why would i do this
Lower heat, lower energy consumption. Minimal effect to mining speed.

I think there is something like serial number on the engine. His signature is already the best proof of his wealth
Yes, easily obscurable by oh lets say a piece of paper reading I bought this with bitcoin.
I can trust him 60%, he doesn't post often and has never started a thread himself.
Im not seeking for proof of wealth, what I want is proof that someone bought a Bugati with bitcoin, so I can laminate it and slap every nay-sayer I've met during the past year in the face with it.

People are not about to start spending btc when it is going up like this...! or until it stabilizes
Welcome to the bubble.

If only I invested all of my money into buying Bitcoins instead of BFL ASIC pre-orders back in June... sigh... That seriously depresses the shit out of me knowing how much they would be worth right now at $65
If they existed. Please prove me wrong.

I want to buy just to shut mosper up at this point  Grin    Oh noes! people will not buy with deflationary coin. agghhhh! the sky is falling.  I'll be putting in an order near the end of the month. I'm saving for something I've wanted there for a long time. Deflationary money is so much better for saving for what you want instead of borrowing for what you want. It teaches discipline and will lead to greater wealth and security over time. That's a good thing.
Couldnt have said it better myself.

I would very much like to see proof. Imho a picture of the Veyron with a note I bought this with bitcoin would be sufficient. I know you propably have no reason to deliver, but Im posting regardless in the hope thay you see how unfucking believeably epic it would be.

Unfortunately, this particular vehicle has a distinctive color combination. Many of my clients are highly private people, and posting a picture would put them and out business relationships at risk. The address in my signature makes up a quarter or less of the BTC I manage at any one time for various people, clearly the recent price increases could have bought several Bugattis.
Oh no worries, I can tell it's a Veyron even if you take the pic of the engine or interior.

Bump. Because I want to see this happen. From 12 to 27% so far.

Bitcoin is too awesome..
First of all the concept of money itself is  mind-boggling..   Now we have true money that is backed by natural resources...

The more I think.of it, the more I realize how much we are living in the Matrix!

I've had the feeling of living in the matrix for a long time now, I keep trying to wake the people around me in vain.

Anyone selling an asic atm is more likeley to be a scammer than legit. Everyone considering buying one should really do their own research. I see a new scam in here, ebay and allover the place daily. Please dont be one of the suckers. Asking questions is fine, but for fucks sake use some common sense every now and then.

Wait, What?

Wasn't primeasic labled as a scam from the beginning ? Did you read the thread ?
