7401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for? on: October 21, 2015, 05:31:04 AM
Do you use Bitcoin at least once a month? What do you actually use it for? Why? Is it better, cheaper, faster, more convenient than alternatives? Is it the only option?

If those 120.000+ daily transactions are actually real, there must be thousands of Bitcoin users active every day. What are we actually using Bitcoin for? Are we just true believers or are there real reasons to use Bitcoin instead of other available options?

I figure it's about time that we have a clearer picture of actual Bitcoin use cases. Sure, in a year or two the picture will probably change completely, but it's useful info right now for anyone interested in growing our community.

Please answer in as much detail as possible!
I use bitcoin several times a week at least as it's way much better than the other online payments since all the others put some restrictions based on the country your staying but bitcoin doesn't have these so its a plus on that matter and it has less fee with faster sending and receiving time too.

My uses:

Money transfer - I transfer it to a local bank account with the help of some exchanges
Micropayments - For paying some people when they do some tasks for me
Web services - One of the most I've used so far as it makes the whole process easier when using bitcoin
7402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is needed to beat the champion: bitcoin on: October 21, 2015, 12:00:39 AM
To answer some of your questions:

What innovation has a Altcoin to bring, to beat bitcoin? Or maybe bitcoin cant ever lose to another cryptocurrency?
- Higher demand than bitcoin already has / Higher value than bitcoin with less time mining each coin compared to bitcoin.

Or maybe bitcoin cant ever lose to another cryptocurrency?
- That will also be my guess as I see hardly any other coin could beat bitcoin for the obvious reasons

Will there be a new online currency in the future?
- I believe so and as i' typing this, some are getting developed from scratch

Hello, could anyone make the ''graphics'' of this picture better ? https://i.imgur.com/jDgm01J.jpg i need it as a background on my website.

state price below Smiley and maybe make it bigger ?
I could do it, could you be more specific in terms of enhancement your after in this picture? Do you like it to be clearer with no fog?or anything else you could pm it to me and as to making it bigger , there is no problem there ... I charge between $ 0.50 to $1 for this Smiley

Edit: Here is some enhancement ( still anything you would like changing it can be done ) and if you could specify the exact size or dimension your after for your website so I could increase the size of it accordingly Smiley

7404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convince store/restaurant owners to use Bitcoin on: October 20, 2015, 09:21:47 PM
It depends on each store as they vary depending on what their selling as if its digital stuff , then that would be really easier compared to physical stuff and as for the restaurant owners , that is the challenge in my opinion as not all restaurants have wifi on them so it might not yet be ideal for them plus the customers upon the payment confirmation , have to wait before it gets confirmed and that might be frustrating in case someone is in harry but to cut the story short, one of the points I always make when I try to make them try bitcoin services is that they get to be anonymous and the fee is really a lot lesser than the other online payments and at the same time, they get to use the earned bitcoin in more ways online ( applicable for people on restricted countries ).
7405  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Altcoinhosting's free image hosting on: October 20, 2015, 07:44:11 PM
Thanks for the kind words Smiley

I aimed to create a script that was fast enough, and that could easily be fixed if there ever is a performance issue.

The script is currently running on my default LAMP stack, on my dedicated server where several of my other websites are currently hosted. The server only has 1 scsi disk and runs about 10 Vhosts... If the performance ever declines, i can divide the website in it's basic components, and run each component on its own server... Also, i could host the images on a ramnode VPS  (they have super fast disks, with their SSD cached raid 10 setup) and even setup a round-robin structure with cloudflare caching and nginx webservers...

This was just to show that this website has potential to grow, if it needs to Wink

About your offer to help me with a design: that would be great Smiley
At the moment, the site is running without ads, so i don't really have a budget ATM. As soon as i'm out of the bèta-phase, i was thinking about using a-ads as an advertising network, so by that time, i might have some BTC to pay you  Grin
Your very welcome Smiley Well as of now the performance of your own dedicated server is great and it's nice that your planing on improvements as well as upfront solution before the problems arises and from the point of view of a user, I could say it definitely has the potential to grow Wink ... I'll be more than happy to help you by then when the need of it, is called, best of luck Smiley
7406  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Real physical stuff vs Online services? on: October 20, 2015, 05:52:03 PM
Mainly I spend my earned bitcoins in buying domains and hosting plans and at the same time use it for some personal projects and in terms of buying real physical stuff, I still do it with bitcoin but in person and I rather not do so in terms of over the forums but there are a lot of people in which do buy physical stuff here with their bitcoins and they seem happy ( it's just matter of knowing who you have to deal with )
7407  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Altcoinhosting's free image hosting on: October 20, 2015, 05:43:16 PM
This is very nice and honestly load a lot faster than the other free image hosting I was using but lately the speed of it has slow down and just about time I was looking for an alternative and now I stumble upon your free hosting which I will be using it from now on Smiley ... by the way I could help with the designing part in case you will be looking for some.

Best regards

7408  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should this Op of this thread get negged ? on: October 20, 2015, 05:32:52 PM
I do agree with shorena as I'm also one of those who participated on the thread and not sure why I did the research for the bounty on this case before seeing an actual proof of the reward until it was too late to act for getting it to escrow in which all of us are affected by wasting our effort for the guy
7409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you want better? Exchange or Appstore where you can pay with BTC? on: October 20, 2015, 05:28:55 PM
I have to go with App store on this one, and why?

1) It removes the limit google has put for some countries for purchasing apps and this way at least others will have a chance of purchasing an app
2) It also give us more freedom in terms of uploading our own app there and earned straight bitcoin payments
3) There are already plenty of exchanges out there
4) You can always add more functionality to an app store but you can't do the same to an exchange since it can't be much manipulated
7410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Is a GREAT Course Title? on: October 20, 2015, 05:24:52 PM
I'll go with choice #4 Bitcoin: An Internet of Money as its more interesting to the eye in my opinion and more will get attracted to it since its about money stuff and people usually go with it but still my opinion is different from others Smiley
7411  Economy / Services / Re: need a simple one page website. on: October 20, 2015, 05:17:10 PM
Just in case your still looking for the one page website, I could make the design of it and regarding the css coding of it, somebody else should work on that part so kindly pm me if your still deciding
7412  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for services. on: October 20, 2015, 05:09:29 PM
As for the hosting, what mexxer has mentioned is good and you could use softaculous on the cpanel of your hosting to install different kinds of forums completely for free and if you happen to need some logo for your private forum, I could make you one
7413  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Steam account with Left 4 Dead 2 in it (Make offer) on: October 20, 2015, 06:50:03 AM
Hello, I would like to sell my steam account that I registered around jan,2014 and has been a while since I used it due to the slow internet connection I have upon relocating to another country so it would be good to sell it for something instead of letting it be there for nothing... I purchase L4D2 for $19.99 before and now it price on steam store is around $10 so I was hoping to sell my account for around $8 in BTC

Price could be negotiated slightly ... the standing of my account is as follows:

Game Bans         In good standing
VAC Bans            In good standing
Community Ban   In good standing
Trade Ban           In good standing

Note:

I will send the link to my steam account to the buyer... If the buyer is a trusted member here, I could go first , thanks

Best regards

7415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How we help Bitcoin ? on: October 19, 2015, 08:02:46 PM
In my opinion, it would be something different from everything that others are offering at the moment, perhaps inventing something very unique and useful and somehow relate it to bitcoin so this way when people get lured towards whatever that has been invented uniquely, same time they get curious about bitcoin as well and makes them do some researches and this could help in someways to make bitcoin grow as it is
7416  Other / New forum software / Re: Usernames of those who stalk my profile on: October 19, 2015, 07:00:39 PM
But user profiles are public, you can view them while not logged in. Am I missing something?
Perhaps something can be done regarding users profile being open to the viewing of the public in this case and can be viewed only when the person is logged in so this way upon checking someone's profile, their names could be under a tab (let say stalker tab maybe) and as result anyone will have an idea of who are their stalkers at least

7418  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Cheap Easy Safe paint/tar to cover leds on miners? on: October 19, 2015, 03:04:38 PM
Thats a pretty good idea of a "paint" to paint over it, hmm. Any thoughts on silicon used for isolation? I figured that would be non conductive. It would be easier to do it while the miner is on, so something definitively not water based might work better?
Thanks Smiley ... hmm I supposed silicon use for isolation is good due to the ability of it not to get any heat or electricity but haven't tried it though but probably will work too...But mostly what I see on using for similar parts are actually those one that are thermal and conductive with fast curing time but the miner should be switched of if using these... as long as the water based solution has a very fast curing time, that should do the trick Smiley
7419  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Video: Solar-powered Bitcoin Mining farm on: October 19, 2015, 02:20:16 PM
everything from the beginning was setup perfectly there but it seems that he have done too much of some stuff and too less of the others and as for the mining farm itself , correct me if I'm wrong but why spend or rather invest on a solar panel while he have only 1 miner running , is in it a waste of money for that matter? He should double or triple the space and add a better cooling system as the place for that single miner was sort of small space only which he could have used to place it somewhere else on that small room
7420  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Cheap Easy Safe paint/tar to cover leds on miners? on: October 19, 2015, 12:49:47 PM
I had a similar situation back in the days and the first thing I did was to paint the LED's that were disturbing to the eyes with liquid eraser and after that a black pentel pen or marker on top of it to do the magic of hiding the white color in the view and pretty much worked on all of them with no problem but make sure that there won't be any licking from the liquid eraser
