501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano (ADA) Coin - would you invest? on: March 30, 2018, 04:19:16 PM
I have already invested in ADA, but right now it is a very difficult climate to profit in, in fact I suspect that nearly all ICOs launching around now will fail to reach their cap, unless they go the private investment route, or have a low soft cap. ADA, NEO and EOS really had a lot of potential, if the uptrend had continued into 2018 I could have seen each of these in the top 10.
502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's countdown the live conference of CMT on: March 30, 2018, 04:17:46 PM
Very interesting how there is suddenly a bunch of newbie and Jr members promoting this coin. Buying hype on bitcointalk is a sure fire way to kill your coin. I would advise against it for any prospective coins or ICOs in future, as it's completely obvious that you are being paid to shill CMT, it's like you don't even try to hide the fact either. Whoever is paying you should revoke the contract ASAP before they tarnish their name.
503  Economy / Speculation / Re: How deep can the bitcoin fall now? on: March 30, 2018, 04:14:16 PM
I think that there isn't negative news, but there isn't positive news either, there is nothing to bring bitcoin back on an uptrend. In this situation, the only dynamic affecting its price is competition, and that's always a race to the bottom, and unfortunately the bottom is pretty much zero. So unless something happens soon, this is going to continue, and might even drop into $5k.
504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency courses, thoughts? on: March 30, 2018, 04:11:34 PM
I completed a couple of these courses when I first got involved with cryptocurrency a few years back, I found that they tend to talk of the most mundane aspects of cryptocurrency, e.g. explaining how mining works, going into excessive detail about how the decentralized ledger works with multiple metaphors and comparisons. Definitely not worth watching if you already have some idea about crypto, as you could gain the same information from simply reading a few stickies around here.

I would however, like some good guides on how to develop your own blockchain, or write smart-contracts, I know some of these exist, but they are rudimentary. I want extensive content.
505  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin below $50 on: March 30, 2018, 04:07:35 PM
This is beyond surreal IMO. Even with the massive slumps BTC is experiencing right now, it still is hard to see that bitcoin would touch $100 again, let alone sub-$100. There needs to be some form of catastrophe before this even comes true. There are already loads of deep pockets invested and have profited from bitcoin to just let their money-making machine die in vain. Think of all the hundreds of millions of dollars invested in mining machines alone; do you think these mining operators would simply let the fad die out easily?

I think even if Bitcoin was essentially banned in most major countries, bitcoin would still stay above $50, simply because it's so hard to stop people using it.

Bitcoin has value in its utility, it is still better than VISA for transacting value between countries, in particular those with sanctions and international transfer limits. If bitcoin slumps to $50, I will go mad.
506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you need to pay first before you can claim your rewards on bounty campaign? on: March 29, 2018, 08:13:49 PM
I really doubt that you would need to pay, please post the name of the bounty here, as it's more likely that the bounty manager is actually trying to scam you. Definitely don't pay, you have fulfilled your half of the bargain by completing the bounty requirements, that is everything you should need to do to receive your rewards. Unless the bounty said in its terms and conditions that this is a requirement, you're almost certainly being scammed.
507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This week's best paying Airdrops! on: March 29, 2018, 08:05:19 PM
Whenever you see an airdrop offering a range of values, then assume it is the lowest end of the scale, that's how it works out my humble experience.

That being said, I haven't participated in an airdrop for years because they're nearly all a waste of time, as the token price plummets as soon as it hits the exchange.
508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any advice for a Bitcoin newbie? on: March 29, 2018, 08:02:24 PM
Here's a word of advice, don't hold for the long term, buy low and sell high, but don't hold for an all time high as those are rarer than you think.

If the price drops 5% then buy it (unless there it is due to very bad news), then sell it once it goes up 3-6%, don't wait for ridiculous gains as you will likely suffer losses this way.
509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you profit from airdrop? whats your biggest airdrop of all time ? on: March 28, 2018, 08:42:06 PM
Do you value from airdrop? because i got airdrop but the fee cost more than the coin value. and whats your biggest airdrop of all time since you start signing up.

I have participated on an airdrop before, but not all of them has a value. One of the biggest airdrop that I got was from ACC. I roughly got 93 tokens when the airdrop was launched. It's a POS token, so my token value is increasing and I kept on adding more ACC since I believe on the project and it has a working product already and very active Dev and community.

Pretty sure he's not asking what the highest absolute number of tokens you got was, as 93 tokens with a 1 trillion token supply is almost nothing.

What was the largest USD value of any airdrop you guys got, at the time of sale? Also, how much effort was the airdrop in and of itself?
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is NEO not kicking off? on: March 28, 2018, 08:40:51 PM
Nothing is kicking off right now, there market is in a really big depression. Even though NEO has amazing potential and promise, which in my opinion far exceeds that of its predecessor Ethereum, it is very difficult to flourish under such strain. I think if the market stabilizes again and this incessant FUD campaign finally ends, then NEO will start shooting its way up the rankings, as it really is a next gen crypto.
511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you profit from airdrop? whats your biggest airdrop of all time ? on: March 28, 2018, 08:36:43 PM
I think asking what the most money you have made from a single airdrop is pointless, most people sign up to every single airdrop under the sun, and if you add them all up, and sell them at the right time, you can definitely earn around $1,000-3,000 per year. But managing all of that dust, is probably not worth the effort overall. It's probably just a good idea to sign up to the most valuable ones, and skip the shitcoins.
512  Economy / Speculation / Re: how to predict bitcoin in april on: March 28, 2018, 08:31:00 PM
I really don't think April is looking to be a promising month, just a few more waves of bad news could send us back down to $5,000 quite easily. I actually believe April will be another bad month for Bitcoin, possibly going down to ~$7,000. I hope I'm wrong, but this bad trend doesn't seem close to ending.
513  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are You Afraid of KYC? on: March 27, 2018, 08:42:39 PM
I really don't have a problem with KYC regulations, however I do have a problem with idiots having access to my KYC data.

I believe if they're going to impose these requirements, they should also lay down some guidelines, including security protocols for those who are expected to handle this sort of data.

I can see the headlines coming soon, amateur ICO leaks database contacting 10,000 KYC credentials, class action lawsuit filed.
514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO ban and #deletefacebook on: March 27, 2018, 08:41:00 PM
I too believe that the Facebook ICO advert ban was harsh, they should have just set additional requirements, e.g. must have a legally registered company, must provably comply with anti-money launders and know your customer regulations etc. There is no need to lay down a blanket ban, and since the negative publicity they have received, hopefully their business goes down anyway. #deletefacebook <- Already did, as soon as I read their data collection rules.
515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what will the value of bitcoin be if the circulating supply gets to Zero on: March 27, 2018, 08:37:06 PM
Isn't the answer obvious? If there is zero circulating supply, then there is obviously zero interest in Bitcoin, hence the value will be zero, or close to it (in the case of novelty value). I think this scenario isn't likely to happen for a long time, at least until the SHA-256 encryption is eventually cracked, however by that point it would have probably forked to another algorithm to resist quantum computers.

517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple new partnership on: March 24, 2018, 10:36:30 PM
Oh look, another partnership with a.... Bank. I really don't like the agenda of Ripple, it doesn't do anything that bitcoin can't, and undermines Satoshi's whole vision.

Definitely staying far away from Ripple as it could lead somewhere we don't want to be.
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeepOnion coin is among the best: best Crypto Privacy Coins to Buy In 2018 on: March 15, 2018, 11:31:13 PM
I really don't think DeepOnion has that much potential, it doesn't do much more than Zcash or Monero, so it doesn't really offer much improvements in privacy, as these are already anonymous. I don't think it has much climbing potential for 2018.

DeepOnion will support SmartContract and many other new features. You can do more based on DeepOnion blockchain. You can go to the official page to see DeepOnion new features and roadmap. Some new features , like DeepVault, have already integrated into the current version.

DeepOnion will be the first anonymous coin that can do a lot of things on it.

NEO has most of these features, e.g. NEO filesharing and NEO browser. I don't think DeepOnion has anything special, it might be the anonymous version of NEO, but its anonymity will restrict its smart contract functionality. I don't think it has the potential everyone hypes it up to have.
519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When I am able to see profit this year? on: March 14, 2018, 07:51:52 PM
Definitely keep holding, it might even take 2-5 years or more, but it is highly likely that your portfolio will see tremendous gains by then. If you sell now, you will actualize your losses, that is never a good idea. Just keep your mind clear, and understand that these are LONG TERM investments, it hasn't been long enough yet (nowhere near.)
520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google banning crupto ads on: March 14, 2018, 07:50:06 PM
Overall, I think there are far too many ICOs anyway. I don't agree with Google banning advertisements for established cryptocurrencies though, e.g. Those in the top 10 by market cap. This is likely to hurt the growth potential of these coins, though not likely as much as people think as they can still be discovered through searches, which is how most people would see those adverts anyway.
