I really don't think DeepOnion has that much potential, it doesn't do much more than Zcash or Monero, so it doesn't really offer much improvements in privacy, as these are already anonymous. I don't think it has much climbing potential for 2018.

It seems like cryptocurrencies are particularly volatile right now, and even the smallest hint of negative news can send the market into the red again. It might be a good idea to pause trading for now until some more stability is attained.

Some altcoins certainly have a future. I really do not believe the future is reserved for bitcoin alone. Other coins such as Ethereum, NEO, Zcash, Monero etc all have great utility value, I would even say some of these are superior to bitcoin (particularly NEO and Monero). I don't think these four are going anywhere any time soon, they are safe bets for the long term.

I really don't see what they have to gain by investing, surely they're not trying to gain measly profits on their investment? Perhaps they're trying to support the underlying technology because they see how it can revolutionize the world.

I don't think they're blanket removing all ICO adds, just the ones that have suspicious motives.
Either way, most ICOs are advertised well enough here on the forum, and the various ICO websites. I don't think Google is a deal-breaker or industry killer if they do outright ban ICO ads.

NEO certainly has one of the brightest futures of any of the altcoins, it's smart-contract technology really has the potential to revolutionize the internet. NEO, in combination with Monero and Zcash are likely to be big players in the future, whilst others such as Ethereum and Litecoin will take a backseat, and probably drop out of the top 10.

I certainly don't keep track of the exact value, since I'm holding most of my coins for the long term. One of the major issues people come across is looking at short term fluctuations (sometimes massive) in the value of their holdings. I think this often leads to panic selling, and then regret when the market recovers some weeks/months later. It's best to just avoid the headache and only check every month or so.

First of make sure you select a campaign that distributes the majority of its funds to signature users, it should be at least 20%, though sometimes you'll see bounties offering up to 40%. You then needed to look at their caps, if one has a $10m hard cap, and they're offering 2% of this to the signature campaign, this will be more beneficial than another with a $1m hard cap, offering 5%. It's simple maths, then just make sure the campaign is likely to succeed, e.g. Good team, great community and media, as you don't want to end up wasting your time and the campaign completely fails.

It's not just about low fees that make an exchange great, it's how many different coins it has listed, and the trades volumes and metric it offers. If this website can compete in those two key areas, then perhaps it can compete. However I would say that is unlikely as very rarely do new exchanges take over the more established players.

Never realize a loss unless the coin is completely dead. I don't Crypterium is completely dead so you should be fine.
If it is all of your money, you might have to actualize a small part of the loss, and use that money to invest in more promising coins.

Another account? Really? If you're going to spam up the altcoin section with your website, at least don't make it so obvious. Every single one of your accounts is registered within a few days of each other, exact same vocabulary and post content. I'm surprised you haven't been merged by a mod yet.

You are clearly the same person as SillyGirl, why not just use one account to promote your site?
There's no need to keep spamming your site in every post, pretending you're not just advertising, just create an announcement post like everyone else does.

Looking at the charts, that coin does seem to be performing really well despite the current market conditions.
I'll definitely look further into it, and will probably throw a couple hundred into it to see where it goes. It's traded on Binance too, that's always a good sign, has decent liquidity as well.

Ethereum is certainly one of the highest coins, not just because it is used by a lot of ICOs, but also because of its smart contracts capability. Though I don't think it was a good idea to require programming in a proprietary language, as that just reduces the developer pool. $5,000 seems possible, but I don't think it will happen within 2018.

We live in a world where people can be jailed for not checking somebody's ID. They can be jailed for trying to make a little bit of money. ONE YEAR in jail. A FUCKING YEAR? This is an outrage, and the community should not stand for it. Taxation is legalized theft, or forced monopolization.

Very specific numbers, $15,000 in two days. Well that is highly unlikely to happen unless you get incredibly lucky. You may be able to make a few bucks here and there with some airdrops, but most of these have little to no value initially, and you certainly wont be receiving your tokens within two days. Your best bet is to gamble, as there's pretty much no other feasible way of achieving what you ask, and you have a stellar idea that you can capitalize on quickly.

Yes, after reading NEO's whitepaper I realized that the technology can change the world. Unlike a few other cryptocurrencies I invest in, I truly believe NEO has the potential to moon, and stay there. It is a general leap over version 1 blockchains, and enables the production of decentralized applications that can change the way the internet works. Too bad I only read it a month ago and not when it was announced. I won't repeat that mistake again, I will read every whitepaper I can get my hands on from now on.

This is part and parcel of the volatility of cryptocurrencies, the markets can shift from green to red, and stay there in a flash. There doesn't need to be in reason behind it, it could simply be due to a sudden influx of BTC to the market due to a whale cashing out. Right now there's nothing to worry about, if it drops under $10,000 then you can start worrying.
However usually when this happens the media start making up news to explain it, this probably starts a wave of FUD that drops the market even further. If it happens this time, I will note this as a trend and utilize it in future trading decisions.

I would suggest a way to resolve this would be to put upper level users on a probation system where they have to gain a certain number of merit over the probation period to maintain their rank, otherwise they get demoted. so old hands who are on vacation (or dead) during the "probation period" get demoted? are we demoting hal finney from senior member? he's only received 26 merit. you're basically erasing all contributions that people made to the forum between 2010 and 2017. the people that made this forum great once. screw that. old hands shouldn't be penalized just because most new members are spammers. The outline I made in OP isn't perfect, of course there are some flaws and I do not believe that all members should be held to the same standard, even though it would be seen as unfair. I think that certain, clearly well-known, informative and respected users could be immune to the system, this would likely have to be a manual upgrade and could be decided based on community votes.
