61  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bons Telegram | 5000$ Prize Pool Tournament for Bitcointalkers Exclusively on: February 15, 2024, 12:28:21 PM
This is actually a very cool concept. I didn't know that we can play gambling games within telegram messenger. but now i am discovering that we can do way more than chat in Telegram using these bots,
notcoin is another example of that.
It is good to see that @Bons is trying to utilize those features of Telegram and giving us an easy-to-use casino within Telegram, so we don't have to visit any external website or create our accounts to play.
Rights to Stay anonymous is something I always wanted to have.  Grin
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STOP telling people how much Bitcoin you have on: February 14, 2024, 01:20:27 PM
Good advice, considering the fact that nowadays criminals are willing to harm people in real life specially for their bitcoin, it became more crucial now that everyone should keep their Bitcoin holdings to themselves, there is no point in Telling public about how much BTC you own.
I assume people would simply do that to show off and to impress others about how rich they are, but they don't know how many doors of risks they are opening to themselves.

I hate these new social media trends where people walk up to strangers on the street and ask things like "how much do you pay in rent" or "how much money do you make a year"...ignore them!
I've seen a lot of them too and I am pretty sure those social media videos are stagged, and anyone who answer them are not telling the actual figures, these rich people can't be that stupid, lol
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you beleive in the concept of "Luck"? on: February 13, 2024, 05:30:28 PM
Hello everyone!

Recently, I was thinking about the concept of luck in my life and how lucky I am. And I wondered how other people, especially gamblers, perceive this concept.

It would be interesting to read your thoughts.

You can answer these questions, for example:

  • Do you believe in Luck? If so, how do you describe your perception of this concept?
  • How lucky do you think you are from 1 to 10?
  • Does your sense of luck in regular life correlate with your luck in gambling?
  • Do you believe that some special things or actions can increase your luck?

And do not hesitate to share any other thoughts about it. Let's discuss it!
I think Luck plays a vital role in gambling, so It is obvious that the majority of gamblers believe in the concept of luck. gambling is mostly about placing bets on the basis of guesses and expecting that your luck support you and you win.
some people say that gambling needs a strategy, maybe in some places strategy works, or in some types of gamblings like card games and another physical forms of gambling,
but mostly gambling is all about luck.
64  Economy / Gambling / Re: I've Made Millions abusing Exploit in a Crypto Casino - AMA on: February 13, 2024, 05:10:42 PM

I don't think anyone will be interested in learning how to abuse a casino to make money out of it. We need profit, but it should be done the right way.

Probably people like himself will find it interesting to find out how he did that. so they could do that too. honest and legit people would never do such acts for financial gains,
But I don't think he have any such method at all. he's probably one of those scammers who want greedy people to dm him to find out then he'll ask them to send him a fee to reveal the secret and anyone who does will end up getting scammed.  Grin
65  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for acquiring bitcoins. on: February 12, 2024, 06:10:09 PM
What is the essence of buying and hodling Bitcoin like is it to accumulate it till it attains ATH then we sell it off and wait for a dip and start buying and holdling again or just accumulate it and start using it as a digital means of exchange or are we going to continue till the 21 million Bitcoins have be mined, already 19 millions have been mined remaining 2 million because overtime, i have come across several topics about buy and hodl bitcoin so i actually wish to know the sole objective of acquiring bitcoins.
That totally depends on the person accumulating Bitcoin. depends on his reasons of buying bitcoin. Bitcoin can be used for many purpose, you can buy and sell it which is called trading in simple words, buy low and sell high to earn profit.
or you can use that as a way of payment, receiving or sending payment using bitcoin is a lot more convenient comparing to other digial payment sources such as paypal etc (that's my opinion)
Or you can just HODL it and be a long term Bitcoin HODLer, if the price of Bitcoin increase in future, value of your holding will also increase accordingly.
66  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC TOUCHED $50K TODAY. BULL RUN IS HERE? on: February 12, 2024, 04:57:11 PM
I just got a notification of BTC touching $50k. Is this the sign that the bull run is close?
I think yes we can say that the Bull run has pretty much began. It is finally the time we've all been waiting for so long.
some people might disagree with me. but I'd say that's my personal opinion. for me we are in the bull run season now. BTC might take small corrections from here. but will grow back eventually.

Depends on what you mean by the bull run.

Some people view the bull run as having started after the bear market ends. Bottom of the bear market ended in March of last year.

Some people view the bull run as when the price starts going up a bunch, which could be several different times, could be starting last January, could be starting last October, could be starting now, could be starting later this year.

Some people view the bull run as starting once the ATH is reached because it means new ATHs and it is around that point when Bitcoin goes into explosive growth for a year, in which case it won't start until probably late Summer or Fall of this year.

Talking about "the bull run" is meaningless because you can define its length and start point in lots of different ways.
Bitcoin is heading up to its next peak in 2025. That's all we need to know.

If you just want to know if Bitcoin will keep going up. The answer is yes, it will keep going up until it reaches the current market cycle peak, likely at some point during second half of 2025.
I am from second type of people. I think bull run is when market start to show constantly green signals and price start increasing, these are the sign of bull run.
I think 3rd type of people are very low here. most of the people would agree with first and second.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about the lost BTC? on: February 12, 2024, 04:34:46 PM

Knowing that BTC has a limit, and we're getting there soon, isn't it possible to have some compensation for those lost BTC?

Something like adding more BTC in an equivalent amount for those lost BTC, or something similar.
I don't think that is possible to add more BTC in total supply means mint or mine additional btc. that's not doable.
that might be possible in term of development and coding. but that's not enough. everyone in bitcoin ecosystem have to agree on that to make that happen which I don't think will ever happen.
But lets say that happens and additional bitcoins are added to total supply. how do you think we can compensate them to those who lost them? how will they prove their ownership of those btc? I don't see anyway of doing that.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does BTC mean to you? on: February 11, 2024, 05:44:29 PM
Bitcoin means a lot to me. But I couldn't buy them at right time. now it is very expensive. let see in future I would buy some bitcoin and gain financial freedom through it.
yeah. thats the feeling of almost everyone here. except for those OG Bitcoiners who got in early, believed at that and kept HODLing until now. rest everyone is full of regrets. but I don't think we should be wasting our time regretting about missing out bitcoin early.
You can still buy bitcoin as much as you can afford and will eventually store enough bitcoin for future.
Try Implementing DCA method in your investment. that works very well for people like you.
69  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin mining’s comeback in China on: February 11, 2024, 12:08:09 PM
I don't really think China will let crypto mining make a comeback anytime soon due to its stringent regulations on cryptocurrencies and related activities. However, Hong Kong presents a more favorable environment and could be a great starting point for those interested in crypto mining. The city's more open stance towards financial technologies and digital currencies might offer better opportunities for the development and expansion of crypto-related activities.
Hong Kong is part of china. then don't Chinese regulations apply to hong kong too? I would absolutely love to see a comeback of mining in china too. I hope china ease their rules about bitcoin and cryptocurrency little bit so Chines people can freely start mining and using crypto.

Bitcoin mining’s silent comeback in China, according to industry insider
CryptoSlate’s research analyst, James Van Straten, recently sat down with Bitfarms’ Chief Mining Officer, Ben Gagnon, to discuss the evolving landscape of Bitcoin mining, revealing some interesting thoughts on Bitcoin mining in China, along with detailed insights into global miner revenues.

Gagnon, who spent time operating crypto-mining facilities in China, shared his unique perspective on the country’s mining ban and the recent expansion of Bitcoin mining in the nation. Contrary to attributing the ban to environmental or economic reasons, Gagnon suggested the decision was politically motivated.

“When the China mining ban happened in 2021, I really don’t think it had anything to do with Bitcoin itself. I think it was entirely internal politics.”

Gagnon noted that mining is slowly returning to China as a way to recycle waste inputs, notably heat, for residential and office projects. This approach allows for reintroducing mining in China as a net social benefit, balancing business and political interests.

“And I think we’re gonna see a lot more of that. It’s a way for China to bring back mining indirectly and improve the cost efficiency of infrastructure and residential developments.”

While Bitcoin mining might seem insignificant regarding China’s overall GDP, Gagnon observed that it holds significant potential at the individual business level. Entrepreneurs might see it as an opportunity to improve business efficiency, recycle resources, and diversify revenue streams. This is particularly relevant in China’s real estate sector, which has faced challenges but remains a significant part of the economy.

This is good news, China has always been an important factor for the Bitcoin market. Remember times when just a news on "China bans Bitcoin" or "China embraces Bitcoin" could move the price thousands in both directions! So any positive news from China could propel Bitcoin to the new highs.
You are right man. that was such a memorable time. hopefully a time like that would come again.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Rise of Blockchain Gaming on: February 10, 2024, 12:11:11 PM
which basically means every single thing you own in the game is actually yours. Like, you can trade your tanks, soldiers, and weapons with other players because they're tokenized as NFTs. It's insane!
Isn't this same fo almost every other web3 game? every character, and in game items are NFTs that you have to buy them spending real cash and play the game.
Unless the game have a proper Play2Earn feature and it is possible to get to ROI on time, I don't see any point of spending money on that game.
and BTW. there are tons of Battle Related Card games. that's nothing unique at all.
Game itself doesn't sound bad. I would've given it a try if it was a free game or even a one time purchase.
71  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you met this kind of investors? on: February 10, 2024, 12:02:27 PM
Common quote from Robin Jones Gunn, you may or may not have heard about it, but is "You go alone, you go fast, you go with people, you go far". Have you met anyone who knows about bitcoins, and then you tried to introduce them to this forum to come join this community, but they refused? I like to see what maybe their reasons where.
I am just over relating that quote to bitcoins; do you have the opinion that lone investors who are not members of any kind of forum or community about bitcoins or cryptocurrency can still be very successful investors?
I had encountered few people like that in my local area. they are bitcoin traders regularly trading bitcoin and one of them is even trading signal provider, I would've shared his Trading View profile but not sure if he likes it or not.
Anyway. they had different reasons. and don't have any reason but simply not interested in Bitcoin.
Maybe they don't find bitcointalk interesting. or maybe it doesn't provide them the type of value they want. I even told one of them that they can make money from bitcointalk but he refused and said he can't make good posts.

73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A student investing in bitcoin? on: February 09, 2024, 05:18:30 PM

If the OP has been here since April 2023 and still doesnt at least know the basics of
how Bitcoin works and investing in Bitcoin, its a lost cause. How does the OP not
realise that his threads from previous are conflicting?
Apparently, OP knows pretty much everything or at least he knows how to invest in bitcoin. as you can see in posts by other friends they already pointed out at that, that OP has already posted about his bitcoin investment in fast.
I too agree with those users that this post wase done for merit farmning and nothing else. otherwise someone who is also a teacher would easily figure something like that out or at least give google search a try first before asking here.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is nothing like it since the past 12 years on: February 09, 2024, 05:02:17 PM
I am motivated by your story, the world has never been an easy place for the male child, especially those who come from a poor home. Yes know that there investments out there that will make people become financially stable, but nothing does it like bitcoin. I have made a resolution that I will start my bitcoin journey, hopefully in few years from now I will tell my success story too. I have a little job am doing but the pay is not much but from it I am able to be buying bitcoin on weekly basis as I am being paid on Fridays. I know patience is required to succeeded in bitcoin investment.
what you are doing is called DCA method (Dollar-cost averaging), Buying small amount of an asset as much as you can afford. and believe me my friend that's very effective way to accumulate bitcoins nowadays,
A lot of folks stacking up and filling their crypto bags with this method.
And i wish you luck for your bitcoin Journey too. hope you'll share your success story here with all of us one da.
