Monero sounds like a mexican invented it. Monero - dinero - sombrero - flamenco.   It doesnt inspire confidence.

Clearly the community doesn't agree with you.

That poll takes in to account more factors than just their names.  Should make another poll called "What is a better name for a cryptocurrency monero or dash?"

1088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- The Riddle of the Twin Brothers - Who Were, Are and Will Rule the World! on: December 19, 2015, 10:24:15 PM
money is information. Bitcoin is just a way of organising information.  And as such bitcoin exists half in the blockchain and the other half in peoples minds.  The code,  and the currency.  You could almost look at it like a computer virus that spreads from human to human.

The future you describe in your post above mine.  It is a hellish vision of mysery. Would people not have the right to lynch us? The authorities to persecute us? for being the advocates of these horrors like a feindish cabal plotting a bloody coup?  Is economic and social devastation a price worth paying for trustless electronic cash?

1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, which is better? Monero or Dash? on: December 19, 2015, 07:36:08 PM
Shadowcash -> both

tech wise that is.

Damn, that threw a spanner in the works.  I was on the cusp, THE CUSP, of deciding which one is better monero or dash when this deliveryman guy throws in a bombshell: 'Shadowcash'.  Now i know monero and dash are quite hard to decide between, but shadowcash?  Is shadowcash better than monero AND dash? Can anyone from either the monero community, the dash community or the shadowcash community please enlighten me?
1090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, which is better? Monero or Dash? on: December 19, 2015, 02:06:40 PM
Im still not sure. Ive heard all the arguments in favour of monero, it seems very promising, and ive heard all the arguments in favour of dash, the technology seems very good.  But i still cant make my mind up. It seems that there is almost no one that can really decide which one is better monero or dash.  If only there was someone from either the dash community or the monero community who could please finally explain to me which one is better. Monero or dash.
1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, which is better? Monero or Dash? on: December 18, 2015, 03:05:55 PM
Im still not convinced either way which is better monero or dash.  Ive weighed up all the arguments in this thread and Im still on the fence.  Can anyone, ANYONE please finally explain why monero is better than dash or dash is better than monero???!!
1092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin user adoption is horrible - here is why: on: December 18, 2015, 10:06:49 AM
I actually disagree. The current users are people who are money savvy - they always look for great ways to increase their wealth. But what if bitcoin attracted users a different way? Through their everyday lives? If shopkeepers provided some sort of small discount for bitcoin, bitcoin would shoot up. As in really, shoot up. We need another source of new users, and I think there are already a few that come naturally to mind.

*Coffeeeeeee...*

Yes more bitcoin retailers should be offering a discount for bitcoin spenders.  It is the only way bitcoin will be adopted by the masses.  USE BITCOIN GET 10% DISCOUNT this way millions of women will start using btc
1093  Economy / Economics / Re: Do your Christmas shopping at businesses that dont convert bitcoin to fiat on: December 18, 2015, 09:54:06 AM
There needs to be more encouragement for shops to keep bitcoin.  There are a few businesses that keep their BTC as BTC and we should be encouraging that.  Not using companies that are just using the bitcoin for buzz and cashing in on all of us bitcoin consumers.

There should be a list online of all the businesses that dont convert their bitcoins into fiat. Then we could as consumers make that choice.

What does it mean this? First of all I want to buy something that satisfy me and not bitcoin. Bitcoin is important but not in such kind. Bitcoin cannot condition my life in this way. I am not addicted by bitcoin to choose as a gift for my wife something that satisfy bitcoin but not my wife. If my wife want something that can be bought only in a store which not only don't accept bitcoin but even can hate it, me, for sure, will buy in that store that thing that satisfy my wife. Bitcoin cannot be and cannot be treated like a dictator. Such conception is extremely wrong and make only damage to it. It can and must be accepted only with the free will of everyone who want to use it. Otherwise no one will accept and use it for a long time (even from them who are using it already).

These behaviors are extremely dangerous for the bitcoin and never must be used or accepted from everyone who want that bitcoin have a brilliant future.

Whats wrong with having a list of businesses that do not convert to fiat and allowing consumers to make their own decision? Nothing as far as i can see.

The wrong is in blacklisting that merchants who don't use bitcoin. The wrong is to think that in this way make good to bitcoin. All both can be intended by the words and thoughts expressed in the man post. The wrong is to make hysterical calls to favorite these merchants who keep bitcoin and don't change it (the most stupid things I have heard in my life about bitcoin). The wrong is to make hysterical calls to not buy at businesses who accept bitcoin and then change it in fiat money (another from the most stupid things I have heard in my life about bitcoin).

But the most stupid of all the above is to read the full main post because is a totally bullshit. Have nothing to do everything is write there with the making good to bitcoin.

But these businesses do not help bitcoin. They hurt it.  They merely increase the bank balances of payment processing companies.  We need bitcoin to properly enter the economy. That means businesses holding and spending bitcoins not just consumers.

1094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin user adoption is horrible - here is why: on: December 16, 2015, 04:49:40 PM
The key reason for low adoption rate is due to its volatility. Isn't that going to cause headaches for financial department of any organisations? How are they going to tag value to their assets?

That is complete bullshit. Businesses hold things that change in value all the time.  And the "volatility" has beenin a general upward trend since bitcoins inception. Hardly a major problem. This is just a meme a useful meme to deflect away scrutiny from other areas.
1095  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate womens to use Bitcoin? on: December 16, 2015, 04:43:38 PM
how we could motivate women to use Bitcoin because I tried several times to explain what it is and how to use Bitcoin

Bitcoin merchants should should price cheaper than their fiat prices, because the merchant saves money using Bitcoin and that saving should be passed along to the consumer. I'd also say when a consumer uses Bitcoin it's 'harder' to spend it than a dollar because that BTC will more than likely go up in value in the future, and no one wants to lose potential higher value.

The incentive for wide adoption with consumers and Bitcoin should always be connected to discounts IMHO.

Ive been literally saying this for years. But on this forum you will always get people queueing up to give various stupid reasons why we shouldnt all do this.
1096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin user adoption is horrible - here is why: on: December 16, 2015, 04:34:58 PM

"Paul Puey, CEO of Airbitz, said in a blog post: "We are excited to announce that we've integrated Fold into our app! Now, you can buy gift cards for Starbucks and Target within the app in the same tab where you can buy and sell bitcoin through Glidera."

So, Fold is now integrated into Airbitz.  Use Glidera, to buy bitcoin to buy a gift card to use via Fold through your AirBitz wallet - to get a coffee!

Get it?!  Neither do I.  The more ridiculous steps between being thirsty and getting a coffee - the less likely users will adopt the system.  This is just freaking horrible.  I am convinced that major players like AirBitz inability to see this will ultimately cause alienation of end users.  Even a hard core bitcoin nerd couldn't enjoy this transaction.  Real people would laugh their head off if you told them they should buy a coffee this way.  More steps and more middlemen?  = sure death.

 you > Glidera > Fold > Airbitz > Starbucks

forgetaboutit

I agree that that sounds retarded.  But there are much more reasons why bitcoin adoption is horrible than these silly apps.

I think companies like bitpay payment processors are hurting bitcoin adoption massively.  They not only instantly convert btc to fiat, they also charge a processing fee just like a credit card company. It also does not give the business any incentive to spend bitcoin in the bitcoin economy, instead the btc is sold straight back to exchanges.

For btc to grow in value we need businesses to be invested in the bitcoin economy. This means not using payment processors but accepting btc directly the way it was meant to be used.  I think we should spend our bitcoins only at businesses which do not instantly convert to fiat.

Companies like coinbase bitpay all these multimillion dollar conpanies and others like it are the biggest cancer to arrive on the bitcoin community.
