I think it is quite the opposite, Pacers are a fine team there is no doubt about that, but Lakers are doing wonders at a stacked Western conference, and that's a very good thing for them, they are looking like they are one of the better teams in the league.

Stephen Curry sunked a big three but Draymond Green committed a terrible foul on Holmgren. I was suspicious Holmgren would not shoot all three free throws with the tension and being a newbie however he made it and the match went extra time. Holmgren is my rookie of the year, in overtime, he hit a big three and then made an important assist in their last position, preventing them from another overtime.
Thunder astonished me this season for positioning themselves at the upper ranking. Be that as it may, we are going to find out soon if they are truly becoming one of the teams to beat.
I think Draymond Green is getting out of hand and in the heat of the match the game is getting so much on him, and for sure because Chet Holmgren is running towards the rim and Draymond was I think not pushing but a light push in my opinion but because Andrew Wiggins was there it looks like Chet Holmgren is just acting like he was push hard by Draymond, but it was all tactical illusion in Holmgren's part,

The 4 blocks that he had were the game changers, he kept on pressuring anyone that would try to attack the paint.
What made them win tonight was all because of defense. They kept Haliburton in check, they did not let him heat up and that's the key to defeating the Indiana Pacers. Without their leader boosting them in the offensive end it's difficult for them to be energized too.
Anyway, I still love the Pacers despite this loss. They are a young team and this will be a good lesson for them. Experiencing this type of pressure will help them out when they enter the playoffs. Haliburton especially, should watch the tape on how he was shut down by the Lakers and he might learn something from it.

PFL Europe 4 is starting tomorrow, than day later it is ONE Championship Fight Night 17 and OKTAGON 50, and in UFC fight card in Saturday. Nothing really special to get me interested, no super big fight, but this are one of the last MMA events we have in 2023. Yes, this is going to be a tough one but I will also say that the Bucks might take the game and win and beat the Pacers. They have all the momentum, from their last game wherein Giannis and Lillard had a great game.
Although nothing can be taken for granted, Haliburton's triple double, but I think Lillard can negate those numbers and he can go 1:1 against him. While on the other hand it's hard to stop Giannis specially in a big game like this.

I would really love to see Oliveira vs Tsarukyan fight. Have you noticed btw how big Tsarukyan was compared to Dariush? How huge and muscled Armans back was. I would say that he cuts and gains back a lot. Why I think Tsarukyan a fight against Oliveira would be good? Poirier, what could he show us except boxing? Little. Imho Tsarukyan would submit him. As he is kind of a Makhachev on low settings Gaethji - famous for powerful low kicks, and suppose to have a good wrestling background (Gaethji and wrestling? For sure I want to see Arman Tsarukyan fight those top opponents Justin Gaethje, Dustin Poirier, and even Charles Oliveira 1st because getting his fangs against Islam Makhachev could be a long road for him getting into the title fight but will solidify his percentage in winning and getting the belt for sure, actually, I like Arman Tsarukyan and if Islam Makhachev fights Arman Tsarukyan early I really don't know who am I going to pick between the two, while for sure I might go with the champion for sure, While the replacement for Allan Nascimiento is Tim Elliott which I really don't like aswell it was depressing to see that he withdrew in this fight which the odds were for him, and withdrawing without any reason, was pretty much what I expected, but let's just wait, I don't necessarily think that Oliveira has a "right" to the title shot. He had his chance and he messed it up by getting injured, it's entirely on him and his camp. He already lost to Islam and only defeated Dariush since then, but so did Tsarukyan.
I think both, Islam and Tsarukyan are not comfortable opponents for Charles, but, out of those 2, he'd definitely get more money fighting Islam.
It's ultimately the UFC's decision not his.

Union Berlin topped the points table for a long time in the previous season. They played very well last season. Because of this, fans expected a better performance from Union Berlin this season. They got a decent win and moved on there. Stuttgart played a much more difficult game against Dortmund on paper. However I was still expecting them to eliminate Dortmund and they really did it.  Stuttgart are in a better condition than Dortmund now and I expect them to be very ambitious in the DFB Pokal cup as well. For sure Leverkusen didn't need to rotate their players to defeat Paderborn not because they underestimated Paderborn but I think it is because they really didn't need it, at all and this is just what Xabi Alonso needed, and if Leverkusen could get the DFB Pokal then that was OK if they didn't get the Bundesliga championship, You can say that Stuttgart did a great job against Dortmund it was like Dortmund was not like themselves when they fought the Leverkusen team, they are not really consistent sometimes but they are still a great team to deal with as they are full of surprises sometimes,
Sometimes it is only the surprise effect when a new coach comes to a team and then out of a sudden the team can win games again, but in the case of Xabi Alonso he obviously changed things fundamentally for the better. He didn't only save the last season when Leverkusen was going down all the way in the table until he jumped in, but he also built a team that plays some of the best soccer I have seen in a long time. I like their idea for the game a lot. It is all about pace and intensity and of course awareness to find these little rooms to give their fast wingers a deep pass. Alonso knows what he is doing and he also understands how to communicate it to his players. He is the next generation Real Madrid coach.

Anthony "The Lionheart" Smith for sure will not back out of this fight but Khalil Rountree Jr. is a pure striker and I really don't know if he can adjust to having good defense on wrestling as Anthony Smith is a pretty good grappler, but I am also doubting his offensive takedown as for Khalil Rountree Jr. for sure he has good takedown defense and for some reason this could be a problem for Anthony Smith but will look even further if Khalil Rountree Jr. really has a good takedown defense
Actually, I am more interested in the Co-Main Event than in the Main Event Khalil Rountree Jr. is a solid fighter even though he is just 6'1" (185cm) and smaller than Anthony Smith his build is massive and I think his shorter physique is an advantage for wrestlers and because of that he is not easy to be taken down, for sure his takedown defense is decent in my opinion, and for sure Anthony Smith has decent wrestling but does his wrestling attack is enough for Khalil Rountree, Arman definitely deserves to fight guys from the top 4, but they don't necessarily want to fight him as he's not yet hyped up to that level so it won't be a big-money fight.
I've no idea what's the plan for Oliveira and whether he'll get the next title shot or will he have to fight someone else instead. If the latter, Tsarukyan is quite likely. But if not Oliveira, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Tsarukyan Vs. Gamrot 2.
For me, Arman Tsarukyan might not be a person that is really hyped right now but he has the quality to be likable for sure for a given time if he can defeat a guy that is in the top 4 for sure his rankings will skyrocket I really believed that Tsarukyan will give the good fight to Islam Makhachev but there is 1 more thing that I doubt in his ability and I want him to fight against Charles Oliveira first before anything he head out to fight the champion,
I think Oliveira is worthy of fighting for the next belt. Although the ration is actually used during UFC 294 and then attracts because of injury. Of course it would be very risky if Oliveira fought with Arman and risking the right to fight over the belt. Unless Oliveira likes challenges like that.
For the fight for the title, Arman has indeed deserved it. But it is not easy because it seems like Arman has to run another match against the Top 5 to ensure his rights.
After the first fight with the victory for Gamrot, then Gamrot lost against Dariush, and Dariush lost against Tsarukyan, I thought the Arman vs Gamrot 2 battle was very interesting to watch.

There were many times Duarte came near and even cornered Ryan but the problem was his speed. Duarte's not known to be fast but he became too slow with the added weight. Ryan trained with a coach whose fighters are slick and technical so Duarte was the perfect pick.
But for me, I think Ryan picked the wrong coach or the wrong technique. He can't fight like that if he wants to become a world champion. He has to be honest with his natural fighting style. If he wants to retain James as his coach then at least they need to enhance his normal fighting style and not emulate something too unusual to him. Because the moment he's under pressure, he will surely return to his old style.
I agree with you, that Ryan Garcia is not used to using the Philly Shell yet, or maybe you are right about his natural technique I think he is still not used to the Philly Shell, and he looks really clumsy while doing it, and plus the running for sure I want Ryan Garcia to be in his old ways and for sure just take that running and be more technical and that was it,
He needs to adjust as that new fighting tactics seems not to be fit with how fans knew and expect from him, and like what you mentioned it's possible that once Ryan got cornered, he might dwell and returned to what he originally know in terms of strategy, both him and his coach needs to find that right tune of adjustments after this fight, they need to work on it if they are planning to challenge big names and a real champ from the division where they want to succeed.

I see that Ryan's younger brother, Sean, is still trying to give professional boxing a try. I looked him up on BoxRec and his last fight was a year ago in Korea on the undercard of Manny Pacquiao's exhibition. He scored a draw in that fight against a local fighter with a 2-1-1 record and prior to that he got a majority decision against a 5-5 boxer. He is clearly not very good but perhaps we will see him on a Misfits Boxing card fighting against influencers.
For sure Sean Garcia still wants to be in the footsteps of his brother and after the Draw results back in Korea maybe he is still positive about getting into the sports the same as his brother, for that is a real commitment if he still likes to make it that way, as for sure he needs to get this slowly and surely because they will never be the same as Ryan Garcia if he is positive in some way then he can surely get it going but don't expect much even though he is the brother of Ryan,
Even though there is no title fight in the event I gave it a try because I expected good trades between Ryan and Duarte. But it ended up with Ryan using his newly learned techniques from James, the Philly Shell, and some running. There were so many openings on Ryan in that fight. Even light punchers Shakur and Haney would've easily stopped Ryan. But Duarte seemed lost in that fight. He was supposed to throw 3 to 5 right hooks on the side where Ryan is open but he can't. I guess Duarte was probably thinking about why he couldn't throw punches like he wanted to. But that was because he moved up 2 divisions north. He felt heavy and he was too slow to exploit the many openings in front of him.
If that was Ryan's last fight under GBP then he can sign with PBC to get that Rolly fight. Otherwise, he gets easily demolished by the champions, Teofimo, Prograis and Matias. But what can we expect though, he lost to Tank who's not even a world champion so how much more if he faces the real high-caliber fighters.
From what I have seen about Oscar Duarte he did not manage to make an adjustment on the fight he has trained for sure and has studied the past movements of Ryan Garcia and he was really not into this kind of Style that Ryan Garcia does so for sure he was caught up with not really knowing what to do, as even the fans are really question mark on what Ryan Garcia was doing, for sure many was baffled on why there was running from him, so many are just booing him by doing this, |
