221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] - NEW BURST OP - MINE WITH YOUR HDD - ATs, AE, P2P MARKETPLACE, and MORE! on: January 19, 2016, 09:59:05 AM
Hi all, I just heard about Burst today, and it looks interesting! I'm gonna read up some more on this later, but I have a few questions first:

Should I read up on the old thread or focus on this new one?

Can an SSD be used, and does it have any advantages/disadvantages over a HDD?

Glad to hear that, pokeytex!

I did not know that you could get anti-keylogger software. Any program in particular that is recommended?

Any recommendations for a reliable VPS service suited for running servicenodes?
http://lowendbox.com

people will find what works best for them.

It will be difficult to say use this or that as that might cause everyone to use the same service.

Thanks for the reply!

There's about 28000 coins being sold right now at 14016 sat on Bittrex

Those would be mine

Log a support ticket on the exchange.

I just did with the ones i see them being dumped at.

I am sick to my stomach

I feel sorry for you, that really, really sucks... From which site did you download the miner program, and are you certain that this was the point of entry for the culprits? Consider alerting the site hosting the program as well. You should change all your passwords from a different computer (so it is not keylogged) if you have not done that already.

Propagandalf: First let me say I still hate you  Wink You're a very good player and I usually run away when I see you  Grin You still eat me (some of my often used names: ARROW/B613/"no name") anyway.

Second: I totally agree with you! I've been thinking about no-names no-colors too, but already it's hard to see who's who when someone with the same color and a lot of blobs gets close or on top of my blobs. But currently I enjoy attacking those teams more than winning...

LOL! I am flattered  Grin

In theory there is nothing wrong with having teams in a game, but only if everyone were in teams, or if players could choose between a single-player mode or team mode. For instance, if it became illegal to team up in the single-player mode, you could ban people if they were proven to be teaming. If there were two game modes, it could remove the teamers' incentive to spoil the single-player mode.

Very hard to stop people helping others in individual mode and there is probably a fine line between helping someone out and creating a team at times.  Would need a very good admin to judge.  Part of the fun is having the power to help or not help people.

It's easy to stop them, just ban them. However, I agree with you that part of the fun is having the power to help or not. With that said I don't think it is necessary to have crackdowns on all kinds of teamwork. I don't mind people helping each other by shooting gears all over the place, but there is one particular move that is extremely unfair: When several players suddenly sacrifice themselves and merge into a huge blob, effectively eating anything in their immediate surroundings. If you think about it, the devs already tried to prevent this by making the mass you shoot out NOT increase the size of other players.

So, if the same players continuously do the team-kamikaze move, they could for instance get a warning and finally a ban. Like you said, a good admin to judge would be necessary, and so video proof to mods will help. If you provide say 10+ video clips showing the same offence (easily recordable within a couple of matches), it is not so hard to judge anymore.

I don't see how this can be a negative thing, it will just make the game fair again and a "deadly game of wits" as it claims to be.
230  Economy / Gambling / Re: www.chopcoin.io - The new interactive Bitcoin game! on: January 10, 2016, 01:02:17 AM
I will start off by saying I love this game, and I have loved it since the start. However, as I see it, there is one huge issue: Teams are becoming so large right now that it is almost impossible to play solo. For instance, there is a Spanish-speaking team that have 7 members as of today. How the hell can a single player compete against 7 others that are all against him?

My best guess is that this is making it even harder for anyone who is not in a team, thus making it hard to win anything at all. That effectively removes the money-making incentive to play, which will in turn attract fewer players. It also makes no sense to deposit money when you are at a constant disadvantage, as it more or less equates to betting in a rigged game. Nobody in their right mind would do that.

Also, I can easily live without being able to spectate a game if it means that teamers cannot use a friend who is not playing to spectate and reveal my position. Additionally, we could have a "hardcore" mode where it is not possible to spectate, where blob colours change every few seconds and no skins or names are visible. Even then it is possible to team/cheat, but at least it makes it harder to do so.

In sum, it looks like the teamers are just milking Chopcoin and its players for their money, while providing a less-than-optimal gaming experience for others. Chopcoin could certainly benefit from dealing with this issue.

Is it possible to run a servicenode and use the computer for other stuff at the same time? Does it have to run 24/7?

Marshmellow Scamtos wished me a happy new year by cancelling my withdraws and forcing me to reinvest them automatically (as usual). I wish him all the worst for 2016 and onwards.

Thanks for the reply. I am already using the latest version you refer to, and I also followed the instructions from here https://github.com/spreadcoin-project/SpreadCoin-Wiki/wiki/Mining-Guide.

I wish I knew how to fix that error message. It is mentioned here: https://github.com/tsiv/spreadminer/releases, but it does not offer a solution as far as I can tell.

Hey Spreadcoiners

I am trying to mine using my Nvidia GPU, using the miner link provided on the first page. I have followed the instructions, made the conf-file with my private key in appdata, but even though the example.bat is supposed to "work right off the bat", I get this error when I run it: "Result for nonce blablabla does not validate on CPU!".

Was I supposed to edit the example.bat in any way? Does the spreadminer.conf need to contain any other information than my private key?
