701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Lykke - Semi-decentralized Exchange on the Blockchain on: March 05, 2017, 05:05:47 PM
I could really use some ETH pairs right now since most of my recent trading revolve around BTC, ETH, LKK and fiat haha! I know its coming in the future but not sure why they are taking so long since they seem to be quite ETH friendly (they will integrate/anchor LKK to ETH blockchain).

tempus, I have another question that maybe you can ask Richard Olsen since you have a good relationship. Regarding CFDs, companies like eToro offer these and they actually pay dividends if you hold a stock CFD during distribution periods. This means that once you buy Apple CFD, they go and buy the equivalent and transfer the dividends if applicable.

My question is basically if Lykke will actually buy and sell the stock once you buy a CFD or it would be just "virtual/digital"? Sorry for all the doubts but I really starting to envision the real potential Lykke has if they get all licenses and keep improving their platform.
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LBRY.IO - DICUSSION THREAD on: March 05, 2017, 04:56:18 PM
LBC is rising we are gonna see 4000k very soon and I feel there will be big news and announcement

I'm not sure if soon but LBRY will have its time to shine, they are working very hard and VC funded, they are not wasting their time here, real investors have money on the line and they will deliver a product. To me this is one of the most unique projects in crypto, however I agree with many here that got burned with distribution. They started they marketing without really warning this could happen. It was obvious for many of us, but many people bought at 80k which is completely crazy.

Like it or not, this hurts the project reputation. Also its blockchain can't scale at all because it's just a fork of Bitcoin basically, so it's just stupid to create another one that doesn't add anything special or improve the tech to the industry. Doesn't matter how much they are trying to justify it, it doesn't make sense. Just use Bitcoin blockchain as settlement and transparency and use colored coins or Ethereum tokens for that matter.

There's need to be some centralization and leadership, decentralization is ok for plenty of things but for everything it's complete chaos or just an illusion, at some point someone is making decisions. And they are an actual american company, VC funded, with a team and a CEO. That's all centralized so I wouldn't waive that decentralized flag everytime I have a chance...

These are my main concerns going forward.
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: March 05, 2017, 04:46:02 PM
Encountering resistance around this area as expected. Probably due for a buyable dip, then we'll see where she's heading.

I'm still long from sub 0.01 and $7...as usual I wish I've bought more but we all know how it goes. I'm not selling anytime soon especially with the ETF decision looming. I think ETH is the place to be right now as I don't feel the ETF will go through. Either way, ETH will benefit. Yes the price will suffer in BTC terms if it's approved but in terms of fiat, all major altcoins will ultimately benefit.

If the ETF doesn't go through, the fiat pair will definitely suffer short term (when BTC dumps, altcoins don't react that quickly to keep their fiat value) but it will definitely be used as a hedge along with fiat and other major altcoins. And I may get a lot of hate, but if the ETF doesn't go through we could enter a very long downtrend for BTC, and the concept of "The Flippening" could become a reality as in my opinion Bitcoin doesn't have a lot in the horizon for the next months (inner fights, blocks full, China regulation).

You may not believe in ETH but there is a lot of stuff coming in the short term, especially Metropolis and POS hype, we all know what something similar did to Dash...I won't even mention the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance which to me is the greatest nod from fintech to cryptocurrency ever.
704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: March 05, 2017, 04:37:28 PM
According to my calculations if Miami wins today(they will), then they will move to top8 for the first time in the season

They actually win easily because Lebron James and Kyrie Irving did not play, even if they lose this game, it's very clear this team will reach into playoffs. I believe with the way they show, they can compete with great teams in the NBA now, whiteside is a big factor to protect the rim and I think they will pass the first round in the playoffs if ever they will reach to that level.

I missed the 3 overtime wins that Detroit Piston has, so no top8 for Miami for now.But they will eventually get it, if they keep playing like this

I think Miami will make the playoffs but from what i heard no true Miami fans want Miami to make the playoffs because they will just get swept first round? If you're a Miami fan you might find this true

If this Miami squad makes the playoffs then there's no doubt about the weakness of the eastern conference, just taking a look at the top 10 positions is cringeworthy. Hopefully in the near future teams like the Bucks and 76ers develop into true powerhouses while Celtics, Raptors and Wizards continue to improve. Regarding the Cavs and Heat game, it was an expected result but the Cavs were not only missing Kyrie and Lebron but Love and JR Smith, arguably the four best players in the team, all starters. Bad day for the ones taking the risk and betting on the Cavs even with that in mind.

Either way I think Lue should've started Derrick Williams instead of James Jones for example or even Jefferson, sometimes I really don't get what he's trying to do...

Grizzlies @ Rockets:
Tonight, both teams are in hot, hoping to make a great run for a playoff spot and to continue the dominance that has been held for most of the season. The work done by each team makes this a great and highly contested game. Despite the similarities between both teams, the Rockets are in a much better stance and will take the win tonight but fall short ATS.

Interesting game with two complete opposite philosophies, Rockets with a high scoring/run & gun approach while the Grizzlies we all know are a very defensive, gritty and slow paced team. I would take into account that Memphis played great games against a similar team (Warriors) so I think if they can slow down Harden and company down they have a big shot at winning this game, especially if they make Houston play at their pace. I also think the Rockets don't have what it takes on the frontcourt to battle Randolph and Gasol so they can be completely outmatched here.

With that being said, sometimes Harden is impossible to defend, if he has one of those nights then the odds are on Rockets side.
706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: March 03, 2017, 03:09:35 PM
Chicago Bulls 94 - 87 Golden State Warriors
Phoenix Suns 120 - 103 Charlotte Hornets
Portland Trail Blazers 114 - 109 Oklahoma City Thunder
Kevin Durant was absent and Golden State Warriors have lost this game because of unstable defense in second half unlike the last L against Wizards. Are there some kind of connection between this? I hoping there somebody can explain this weird situation I got here, are Kevin Durant the future MVP of Golden State Warriors? At first, I was really doubt about his moving from Thunder to Warriors, but now his slam dunk and blocking shot skill is special for Warriors.
GSW losing was not expected especially to a poor Bulls team.
Having that and the Suns under 220 on points just killed my parlay badly.
And I really thought the OKC game would of gone under.

I think it was expected the Warriors to have some problems, especially on the road. I know the Bulls are not a powerhouse but still, they have great players that can win a game like Butler and Wade, that's all you need. Plus, every team in the NBA brings their A level game to play against GSW.

On top of that, we now see that the Warriors are pretty vulnerable without Kevin Durant and I would even go as far as saying that the Cavs have a shot of actually going for the top record in the regular season to get the finals home court advantage.
707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: March 02, 2017, 04:27:59 PM
So this is it, Andrew Bogut finally decided where he wants to go and chose Cleveland Cavaliers. After Deron Williams which came from the Mavs, Bogut follows but not a direct trade to Cavs since he was first traded to Philadelphia 76ers for Nerlens Noel and did some talks with the team so that he can landed to a contender team.

Well for me, Bogut is a great addition for the Center spot at the Cavaliers since we all know that their big man is not that consistent. Just make sure Bogut will come healthy till the end since he is an injury proned player and his dissapperance will give a big hole for the Cavs.

It is a good addition although I'm not sure if he'll get some playing time in the playoffs/finals once Kevin Love comes back. The Cavs are a little thin in their frontcourt without him and Andersen but I can't see Bogut and Kevin Love at the same time. Also Bogut next to Tristan Thompson looks ugly as hell in my opinion, 0 offensive threat from those two.

But he can certainly help with his rim protection and passing abilities for now. I don't see him playing more than 10-15 minutes and even playing those minutes it could be a risk since he's too injury prone. Deron Williams on the other hand is a much needed backup PG that could even end up being a starter if he plays well enough (or at least be on court at the end of games), especially with JR Smith out.

Quite agree as Bogut and Thompson is really not that on action in terms of offensive plays. But Cavaliers can rely on them on defensive phase as this was their specialty and line since they entered the league.

Im expecting Kevin Love to be more productive if ever they will entered the finals again. Last finals, I considered him as a nervous players just like James Harden when Oklahoma City Thunders reached finals for the first time.

Remaining games for the Cavaliers will be it's training ground to test some mixed plays and to adapt the playing style of new additional players in their roster.
Let us not count out the possibility of the Cleveland Cavaliers being upset by the Boston Celtics in the East Finals, assuming that these two teams make it all the way there. Although the group of the Celtics which is led by the phenomenal Isaiah Thomas is still lacking substantial playoff experience (compared to the Cavs), they can still put up a very good fight. What’s more scary is Boston’s future because they have a lot of assets that they can use to further improve on their line up and fill the holes that they currently have.
That's what I'm thinking also, if the Boston Celtics will reach the Finals, it is already a great achievement of the team and that will give them the confidence which will make them scary for the seasons to come. Honestly, they surprise me this year, I thought it was the Bulls who will be the rival of Cleveland Cavaliers this season but Celtics just cross the line and they want compete with the champs.
Tonight's game was really good to see, I enjoyed watching it together with my son who also love basketball.

I was also impressed on how Boston Celtics played against Cleveland Cavaliers.
Boston's win overshadowed the seventh triple-double of the season for James.
Deron Williams had a chance to to be the hero in his Cavaliers debut but guess
its not his night. With this win against the Cavaliers, Boston has now a better
chance to be the top team in the East With Kevin Love and J.R. Smith still
unavailable to the defending champions and they are just 3 games behind the
Cavaliers.

Boston played great and their homecourt is very hostile. However don't forget Cleveland is missing both starters in Kevin Love and JR Smith, two prolific 3pt shooters (last night the Cavs had a terrible night of 3pt shooting). Boston won fair & square, the problem I saw on the Cavs side is that Lue played both D-Will down the stretch. Jefferson played great the minutes he was on court but he didn't play one minute of the last quarter. Derrick Williams is having a great run and all but he's still new, he's not the first option to be on the floor in the final minutes in my opinion. And Deron Williams could eventually close out games but not in his first one!

That was very unwise from Lue and that is what costed the game for the Cavs in my opinion.

Lykke Corp completes public offering of equity tokens in oversubscribed funding round
https://lykke.com/company/news/lykke_corp_completes_public_offering

Amazing news tempus, so glad I'm a shareholder at Lykke, there are so few opportunities on holding shares for promising crypto companies (the most we can do is own a piece of the network via tokens or coins which is great but not the same) but unless you have VC money the average joe is out of the game as usual.

Congrats to Lykke team, can't wait for upcoming news and progress.

Like many I'm extremely dissapointed with this project but well, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. I've made a lot of profit with Iconomi since I called the top and sold around 47-48k (plus I picked some more at 16k when it launched). But with Antshares I wanted to get out but never could since I've never been able to sync the blockchain. This still is my main gripe with this project, how can they locked up a lot of people and not provide a simple ICO withdraw option is completely inexcusable. Much smaller projects (even downright scams) did this and much more from the get go.

Anyway, I guess this is bottom though, I really don't care if it goes to 5k sats, we live and we learn. By the way Qtum looks like complete vaporware like many new blockchain projects, they will be just taking marketcap from both Ethereum and Bitcoin.

When do devs plan to develop an application for the x86 architecture or web client for exchange?

The web-based-terminal already is in development and they are making progress, but time frames cannot be defined at the moment.
But be sure, I'll post it in big letters once there is a time-estimation. ;-)

Tempus, do you know when Lykke will list Chronobank Time tokens? I know they have a deal so it must be very soon. The project doesn't seem that interesting in my opinion but I still bought some at the ICO since I think with the recent BTC rally it was undervalued compared to what they intended to raise. Total coin supply is only 710,113...with some good news and progress I think it will be due for a nice pump eventually once BTC finally settles.

The question about the Chronobank-listing was asked on telegram some time (about 2 weeks) ago and Sergey replied:
"Listing is scheduled early March, after TIME token distribution end"

I find it very fascinating but also very very complex, including the market(s) and even social aspects. I did not invest because of that, but I'm very eager to see how it will turn out.

Yeah I think I asked this already or we discussed about Chronobank, I've seen that it's already listed on a couple of small exchanges so I guess we can expect it on Lykke by next week or so. Even if it's not a huge project (at least now) it's great to see Lykke starting to list digital assets. I'm a big fan of Ethereum and I can't wait for them to list them, I would definitely move a lot of my trading there since they have a lot of fiat pairs which it's becoming very interesting as some altcoins start to decouple from BTC price.

They are definitely working on it - last update 4 hours ago: https://github.com/LykkeCity/chronobank-integration

Regarding prices decoupling of Bitcoin: If the ETF should be approved it will become very interesting. Short-term Alts would most likely take a huge hit. But it would bring so much more money in the whole space, make Bitcoin and everything else much more interesting and give a lot of credibility and general attention, that especially a project like Lykke would most likely benefit a lot. But we'll see. Until now I have a lot of doubts that it will be approved.

Nice, it should be up and running in the next days I think.

Yes like we discussed, I think there's minimal chance of the ETF being approved but each day that passes by without any confirmation the price will be stable or continue to rise since if we get to March 11 without any notice it's approved by default. I'm sure we'll hear something by the end of the week, if not then the chance of getting approved will get bigger. Right now I feel it's already priced in, it's the perfect spot to take a risk in case a trader thinks ETF will get approved. I even feel it's a little overvalued, $1080-1100 would be a more cautious price.

I agree an ETF will bring much more money into crypto and Lykke being an exchange will definitely benefit from it (exchanges and gambling sites are the most profitable companies in this industry).

Milwaukee Bucks play at Cleveland Cavaliers and there's a good chance that LeBron James and Kyle Korver don't play the Monday night game. If that's the case it should be an easy pick on Asian handicap on the Milwaukee Bucks. Cavaliers are 0-4 when LeBron doesn't play and it could be another day just like that but just to be sure, go for AH. Greek freak seems to be in good form and Irving will find it hard to score against him.

If Lebron doesn't play in this one there's a huge chance for the Bucks to take this game even if it's at the Q. Cleveland has been horrid all season long when Lebron doesn't play, it happened since he came back to Cleveland but you could justify previous loses on the Cavs depleted roster (many came of these loses came before even Mozgov, JR and Shumpert signings). Either way right now even when missing both Kevin Love and JR Smith the Cavs don't have any excuse to not win some games without their leader on the court, yet they still struggle.

The Bucks will be also miss Jabari Parker, out for the season with a knee injury and they are not playing their best basketball of the season so don't think it will be a walk in the park either.

Free agent guard Deron Williams has cleared waivers and told the Cleveland Cavaliers he intends to sign with them. Williams was waived earlier this week by Dallas. He will give the defending NBA champions a playmaker they've needed all season and one LeBron James demanded.

They need a experienced guard like Deron Williams. It was evident in their lost against the Bulls. Irving was the only reliable playmaker they made so getting a guard with the caliber of Williams will relieve some pressure on Irving shoulders.

Deron Williams will be a great addition to the team, remember that Lebron has been the playmaker all year. Irving is a reluctant PG, he only passes the ball as last resort, he's more of a SG and a pure score than a proper point guard and playmaker. Deron Williams in my opinion if healthy can even be a starter if JR Smith doesn't come back strong enough. The problem is that he's too injury prone and his defense is questionable to say the least.

I think the Cavs will make it work though, Derrick Williams has been having some great games and will continue to improve under Lebron's wing, the guy is young and has potential. Let's see if they sign Larry Sanders or Bogut (maybe even both). I feel Sanders has more potential even if he's a risky bet. Bogut seems to be done as a player and doesn't fit at all in the Cavs team in my opinion but you can't deny his experience, passing and rim protection skills (even diminished with the recent injury).

The Rockets rank 2nd in offensive efficiency, while the Pelicans rank 27th in that category. Acquiring Cousins could propel New Orleans into the postseason, but won’t help Tonight, i think Rockets will win and cover ATS.

The Rockets has a new gun, Lou Williams. Time to test out this new recruit.  Grin

Looks like we are going to stay tune again with Rockets and this new attraction of their new players. I pity Pelicans looks like they are far from the other teams and they are outplayed with their games.
Williams will be test if he can connect right away with harden if this two players respectedly make a huge points for sure houston if make a strong develp team that can compete with gsw and sa i know they already have some place from the west but williams can be another good addition.

Watch carefully guys while pelicans destroy rockets. Defense is more important than defense and rockets is lacking that factor. James harden is only good on offense but he has a very poor defense stats. Unlike pelicans davis and cousins has both having good offense and defense skills. The only thing thing they need to work now is their team work.  This two big guy will gonna make a name on nba.

Hehe, hopefully you didn't lose too much money on that game, the Rockets crushed the Pelicans. Cousins had a good game but they looked a little lost in the paint along with Anthony Davis, these things take some time and I'm sure they will be very hard to contain once they get to know each other game. The Rockets may not have a great defense but boy they can score the lights out, they can score 130 any given night, even Harden had a bad game last night but Lou Williams their new acquisition shined with +20 points from the bench.

I wouldn't bet on the Pelicans until we see some improvement and progress with this new DC/AD partnertship, the rest of the roster is very thin...

Sacramento Kings must be the most ridiculous franchise of all time with so many bad trades and draft picks in the recent years, I can't believe they are still competing somehow. The trade can create another powerhouse here, right now it doesn't look as menacing but just add another piece to this puzzle and you could have a team with arguably the best/top big men in the league.

This trade is ridiculous! are 10 years sacrament does not go to the playoffs and this year could reach the playoffs, but now after selling Cousins will arrive in last place in their conference.
New Orleans, however, can reach the playoffs defying Denver for the eighth and last place useful.

Not so ridiculous considering Cousin's attitude. He's like Rondo IMO, so it's a fair trade. I kinda don't see him working good relationships with a lot of teams.

Not at all, Rondo is a proven troublemaker on every team he has been. Can you really blame Cousins anger with the Kings franchise in all these years? I know the man has a temper but to me he's fully justified in most of his actions and criticism. We'll see how he does in New Orleans, if he can't adapt then the problem is clearly him not the other way around.

I feel he just wants to be competitive and win, sometimes he goes too far and becomes frustrated, he doesn't seem to have any equanimity whatsoever.

Thanks tempus! CDFs trading could be a game changer. I know eventually any sort of asset, digital or real could be traded however CDFs could become a reality in the near future. I don't think they are legal in the US but there's plenty of companies like plus500 and eToro doing very well.
