was wondering, are there any ideas what ASICMINER will be doing in 2 years? expand? make higher efficiency chips? maybe this is a silly question, but I was wondering because I see this more like a long term investment

Has anyone received any confirmation for the dividend transaction? Still at 0

Mine are at 0 confirmations too.
It is because he sends the dividents without transaction fee. Just give it a little more time, and eventually it will be confirmed.

As you can see here http://blockchain.info/en/unconfirmed-transactions
there are lots of unconfirmed transactions piling up right now.

woohoo, 1 confirmation, and he did pay transaction fee

could it be that ASICMINER is using old version?  i mean, 9 unconfirmed ..

waiting on two transactions, 0 confirmations. whats going to happen to my bitcoins?

probably sent from old versions

ok, i will try to stop guessing Tongue  sorry about that
345  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: March 27, 2013, 08:03:07 PM
if I can guess, it would be approximately 0.008 btc divident for a normal week, or a little bit more.

(0.003775/3)*7 = 0.0088

and I read they invested some of this and next weeks divident into their progress, so it would be the week after next week to see this normal 0.0088 divident / share, is a low estimate because I dont know how much has been taken to invest, which can be added again the week after next week

ps. it seems to be a slow transaction, not yet confirmed, I've other transaction made later, that are confirmed 5 times, and the number of shares in satoshis is also confirmed (12 confirmations) , or is this a blockchain.info glitch?   Will be okay in some time I'm sure, just curious what it could be.

Completely wrong. You are forgetting about the dividend that was paid last Sunday. My point is that probably not all was paid out.

To get an idea about the next dividends, check the google spreadsheet and also consider the next Th/s to be deployed in the future.

i could be wrong, it is just a guess, but i didnt forget about last Sunday,  monday tuesday wednesday = 3 days. 0.003775 / 3 is divident for a normal day, that times 7 would be for a normal week , in my basic logic, im sure im forgetting about other stuff, like the part that has been invested and such.. ,  but yeah, it is just a guessing game.. maybe i should not try to predict these things  Roll Eyes

i thought the name cannot be changed (in the beginning people didnt like the name because it made them think of paypal, and than some , but for some reason it isnt changable) , and there is also terracoin claiming to be green.  ... i'm not sure tho , still i think ppcoin has gotten some awareness which will be lost, with name changing

what about: scammer tag can get removed when he refunded everyone

, i dont know what is true/false, just that many people including me haven't received their refund

Quite aside, yet on topic.

This thread has 179 posts with 7080 views to date. Why is there only 12 votes total in the poll? I'm finding this tidbit rather odd.

was the poll also included from the start of the thread?

It's much less costly to spam a new coin so I had to strengthen this part to counter certain class of spamming attack. Although people would argue that allowing tiny output value may open up to some good applications but in my opinion spamming is a serious issue so micropayment has to go.

what is considered a micropayment? , or different question: what is the smallest amount possible to pay?  wouldnt this just make the number of digits behind the dot less   (0.0001 instead of 0.00000001)?   I dont really understand most of this , probably should read more about it .. my guess would be a micropayment is the smallest possible amount you're able to send, so i just dont really understand "micropayment has to go"  , if you are making micropayments bigger, they are still micropayments , no?   i guess im wrong here and there..

all questions about the HPC project seems to be ignored?

Because they have pivoted since they have realized just how hard HPC is and how little $$$ is in HPC if it is not done right (aka, nvidia and not amd).

okay, i wasnt aware of this, have they stated this plublicly? or are you just guessing? I'm not saying you are wrong, im just saying they could have informed (if they didnt:) ) better about these things.., maybe i should not expect reasonable way of communication in bitcoinland, with all the shady business  ..anyway, i feel sad because i really saw great potential for this , very complicated but not impossible (imo) .., maybe not just technical challenges but also have to deal with licensing/patenting trolls... It was interesting to me because it could bring CPU/GPU mining back, and it could be used for a (larger) number of applications (not just shashing)

353  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER: Cablepair (Tom) from BTCFPGA.com/bitcoinasic.net on: March 10, 2013, 11:50:10 AM
And you don't deserve to hold other's funds that's been proven you still have.

Has it been proven that cablepair is holding the money?

since he is not paying out refunds on fridays, as he promised himself, it is proven that he is holding on to it

355  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Batch #1 Ships on: March 08, 2013, 02:43:03 PM
well, i don't see people claiming that tracking numbers are received. Even the already delivered AVALONs were out
of the blue?
I went to the DHL depot here (Brussels) around noon to pick up my 3 units of batch #1. I had to pick them up personally as the shipping info indicated a personal account and not a company and had to pay VAT and import duty with a card. It cost me about EUR 60 / unit.

If the shipping label would have been complete with our company name and VAT number, it would have been delivered to our offices but frankly this was a trip where I did not mind taking the car and taking delivery just before the weekend ;-)

it took one hour to to unbox them and have them up and running.

Just can have a look at the btcguild.com, I've created team Avalon

https://www.btcguild.com/index.php?page=rankings&section=teams

(Note that other people can join the team, it's not locked with a PIN)

A big thank you to Yifu, NGZhang, xiangfu and the ant workers that assembled the machines

im still waiting for my avalon, also from batch #1, The Netherlands, havent heard anything really  Roll Eyes,  can't wait ... guess you're more lucky (also because you got the 1337'th post , i think you have quite some luck Wink )

Would be nice to get some news, yes.
The decision to sell all GPUs or keep them for HPC work @ CoinLab isn't far away.

this....
this.... I suspect people would start selling GPUs once 2nd batch of Avalon ships.
Although Coinlab also advertises to gamers, but I think GPUs from the hashing world far out number the gamers.

this...
