1  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] MarginBot - A Bitfinex Margin Lending Management Bot on: May 06, 2015, 08:50:18 AM
I did not get it work. I decided to write my own bot. When i finished the Server gave me a "nonce to small error" which can be interpreted as "your privat key and secret key are already in use". Which was not done by my own program and the key was only used for the php bot. I deleted the old keys, created a new one and everything worked as it should.
Any idea how or why that happened ?
2  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] MarginBot - A Bitfinex Margin Lending Management Bot on: May 02, 2015, 01:10:45 PM
Hey there,

i want to test the script right now. I am using XAMPP for testing with Windows. Everytime i went past the database configuration and the website config the install.php script tells me that everything should work fine now and i should make my config readable only. After i did that and klick on "Log On" it just redirects me to install.php again and starts a new installation process.

What could be wrong ?

Börsencrash in china und den BTC Kurs ists egal.
Irgendwas muss da ja im Busch sein

Wie kommst denn auf Börsencrash in China ? Redest du von den nicht Bitcoinbörsen ?

Did anyone check if these companies which sell those scrypt machines use the same chips or not?
I think they do. And if they can buy it, we can do it also.
How hard is to made miner like that when you get chips, using directly raspberry pi on it.

you still need the firmware to communicate with the chips.
The electronic part can be done, but might not worth it if you only plan to do a few.

http://www.innosilicon.com/A2.htm

200$ each chip if you order 50 pieces
roughly 10000$ = the actual price for the complete miner with 48 chips

these chips are too expencive and I am soure you can get cheapper one.
And if more people takes it we get discount also.

We need to search cheapper chips Smiley

I do not think Gridseed will make these chips anymore as they did sign a
deal with innosilicon

Gridseed GC3355 chips would cost nothing to buy now. Could worth the try, plus the firmware and the design to be improved already exists.
It all depends if they sell the chips and if they sell for really cheap.
They aren't that power hungry to move 28nm now. simply marketing.

I do not think that Gridseed will continue to manufacture the 3355 chips as they
could be signing a deal with Innosilicon to manufacture the A2 chips themselves now.
Good move on both parties as if they can ramp up production at both ends they
will take out most of the late to market competition.

If you can get 4Ghs out of 40 chips but draw approx 300w of power you would
only be able to obtain 20Ghs max on a 115vac@15amp service outlet. That is
getting the max (1750w) of a standard wall outlet, you are putting out 1500 watts.
The volt mod with higher freq settings pushing the chips really drives up the power
consumption.

These units are the first version on the ASIC Script miners and will draw the most
power thus making them not efficient enough as higher power miners. That being
said I have seen some company putting 6 stock freq units into a custom rack and
selling as a 33Ghs unit drawing 840 watts but price was way to high and around the
same price of a newer 28nm 90Mhs miners using the A2 chips.

Good work to everyone inputing into this thread, I am going to mod my Blade soon
with the knowledge in this thread. Next round of blades coming out next week are in
the $900 range now!!

your power usage looks way off.

My blade running overvolted at 7.2MH/s uses around 300w from the wall
5.8MH uses 170 watt from the wall (30 watt just for the psu at idle nothing plugged)

we should be able to reach around 56MH with 1500 watt
price for this have to be no more than 800$ for 14MH to be competitive,
flexible design by multiples of 14MH (200 chips) up to 42MH 1200 watt to easily power it with server PSU like the DL580G3 1300 watt (noisy but efficient)

Does sound reasonable, all in all.

With what did you glue it on the backplate ?

I assume that i have to be very carefull, that the Glue is not electronically conductive.
Can someone post me an example of a glue used ?

Regards

I will glue it with
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thermal-Conductive-Adhesive-Heatsink-Viscous-Plaster-Compound-Glue-For-GPU-IC-PC-/231001799393?pt=AU_Components&hash=item35c8c7bae1

There is no word on electronic non conductivity ?

here is the bridge voltmod for the blade. still untested, I'll have to physically check on the board for voltage =1 to be sure

Which resistor value will then be enabled ?
36k resistor ? Also, where is it located ?

Good work and much appreciation.
I will follow your Thread. : )!

EDIT: Are there any circuit diagrams available from the blade?

I did the 49.9k resistor mod, but I'm having an issue:

For some reason, although the Gridseeds are running at 7.65 Mh/s collectively, I"m only getting around 3.6 Mh/s effective. It's like this no matter what pool I use. Is this normal, and if not, any idea on how I can fix it?

Can yopmeone join in here and tell what the actual problem is ?
I have to say that i face the same problem with the bfgminer.
On Ubuntu when i use cgminer, i have to restart cgminer very ofter as there plopps an libusb error. On BFGminer verything runs as it should but the effective hashrate is extremely lower...

Try the cpuminer in my signature, it should work without issues.

wow guys you are genious.!
cpuminer was a little a pain in the ass to configure the script and run it as root and so on... but! It works perfectly.
Cpuminer even adjusts pods to their own specific best frequency, what a charm i love it.!

Thanks a lot all.

This is on p2pool so rejects are a bit high. Only wish for now is individual freq settings.
Right now it's running gridseed-support-clean branche. With the default branche the hashrates looked higher (but maybe it is more accurate now?).

Hey can you actually tell me at which hashrate they run and with which options ?
I run them at 1150mhz all overclocked, but i got the problem that my actual hashrate is about 50% lower than with cgminer..

I am also using the gridseed-support-clean branche.

Is there any way to set seperate workers for each device?

Run multiple instances of BFGMiner with different log in stuff for whatever pool you're using...

The reason im ask is my effective hashrate is really low with 40 gridseeds. Any ideas anyone?
I'm seeing the same issues, drop offs in reported hashrate, some devices not seen when started, some going dead after a few minutes. Review my post above for a temp solution until BFG 4.0 comes out. (sorry Linux only)

Yeah this describes my issues well. Sucks cause i got excited when i saw 15mh from 39 units but the effective hashrate is only 11.45mh

Was this problem here solved ?
We are discussing the same issue over here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=519112.msg6357240#msg6357240

Is it a timing problem ?

Thanks Zig, this might be exactly what I've been hoping for.  For me, I think it is easier to add a new axial resistor than to remove that tiny smd resistor. And, it could be easily re-bridged later if a SHA coin rises to and stays at the top of the profitability lists and you want to mine it.

Ok Guys --- ZigMod is official  -

R46 Pads are bridged from factory

Image from Sandor11 & edited by Zig - R46 position is the pads on the far left all alone circled in black
https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FKBfnITv.png&t=539&c=UEjhwR7D7EBeVw

Now you know where it is, unbridge the solder join at the pads with either a knife or sharp blade (GENTLY) . Once the join is cleary un-bridged you may now solder 17kohm 1% 0402 SMD resistor OR an Axial Resistor.

The Above according to Zig should give you 20w @ 510-515KH.

Thanks Zig, as this is your mod (Please correct me if I am wrong)

Guys the first person to try this please share with us your results and pictures preferably comparing the old mod side by side to see if both are to 2 and the same in performance and wattage

What should be the benefit of doing it ?

EDIT: I read through some pages. Aim was to get exactly 49.9kOhm as resistor value, is that correct ?
Zig can you verify this ?

Regards.

Anytime for you, Nemercry... I greatly appreciate you time and effort to share first the results of "R52" called mod ...!

R46 cut-off and soldering additional Rmod is Adding 16.9K to R139 = 33K ...resulting in 49,9K as you suggested in the first place...but is simpler procedure...easier to implement...and reverse...no messing with un-soldering R139  ("R52" as they called it) ...

The value of "R52" ...or to be precise R139 + Rmod in series ...doesn't NOT need to be exactly 49.9K IMHO ...this is why I just rounded to 50K...This difference has no effect on the resulting Voltage supplied to the Gridseed chips...less than couple mV ...

It is the same Mod as yours ...has the same effect...Rising the Reference voltage of the Voltage regulators...implemented in a different way...which requires less work...or possible mistakes...I believe...

ZiG

P.S.

Why I am doing this...Very simple...A friend of mine and myself are putting together Scrypt farm of 500 Gridseeds...After putting together $55,000 capital ...the order is already made and shipped...I have to come with reliable solution to squeeze every possible drop of performance...ready to go 24/7 ...and I don't want to spend my life to modify them...and babysit later...plugging-unplugging...messing with cables, hubs and what not...

Competition with Wolfey2014...the hell not...I was also telling him in the early days of this thread that I could use his services as well...NOT anymore...I'll be more than glad to hire somebody to do it... to my specs...

And after a month and a half in this thread, I just decided to share back...That's it...

Happy modding...

Thanks for the fast and in depth reply.
I marked some spots for you. If you do only the R52 Mod (marked as nr. 1) you got the possibility to undo the mod by doing the soldering on the two yellow bridges.
If you do so you will enable the green 2 resistor. Which is the original 950mhz mod aka 36kOhm.

Can you probably post a picture of your mod ? For now i dont see why it should be faster than replacing the R52.
(Probably i missed something)

hey many thanks Decagrog! I'm going to try it. I have seen your mod, very well done, as soon as I brake one of my pods I will send to you of course Smiley

Do you (dudes) know why the last picture (figure 12) of this guide shows an axial resistor in the "mod area"? Is it only an arbitrary choice? I mean, may be in that pod @jess85 tried an axial instead an SMD?

This is the photo

Hello michelem,

actually that was just my first test unit and the mod used there is outdated.
Just replace the R52 thats all you need abnd the best you'll get.

Guys help please!

I made an "old" mod, not the latest ZiG one, but all i get is HW, even on 850 Mhz

Here is the picture of my unit. I did not solder the voltage=1 pins (vertical yellow line in instructions). Should that be a reason, why I'm getting only HW errors?
Btw I used 47k resistor, but did not have 0402, so used a bigger one..

so all I'm getting now is (no matter which frequency):

Please help!

Hello Ajeto,

just remove the solder bridge and your mod will work fine.
