181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is a big business??? on: July 08, 2016, 04:47:14 PM
the future may bitcoin will become a big business, but I think this time can be regarded as bitcoin is already big business. people can benefit a lot from bitcoin. and also not a few people who put their money in bitcoin.

At the moment, the bitcoin is a small business. the market cap is just about $10 billion. In 10 years, it could be big.
For those with libertarian leanings, Bitcoin has been something of a payment relatively free of government regulation. That may have been good for consumers, but isn’t necessarily in the best interest of small businesses.
Well for now bitcoin is a small business. It is because only a few in the world uses it for daily transactions and investments. Well maybe after 10 years it will be a big business.

That is right. But the number of users have increased steadily over the last 7 years. The price has also risen.

183  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to go to US$800+ on: July 07, 2016, 09:19:05 AM
I think bitcoin is going up 100% with or without a crash. I think people will buy big time / hold ahead of
halving.

I know not everyone thinks halving will send it way up but I know people will hold to see what happens which will
help bitcoin go up.
I dont think the bitcoin is going to the 800 dollar maybe at the end of this year but not for now because the price is slowly coming back up into the 600 dollar and that is enough for now
because if he is going to rise that fast he would not be 800 at the end of this year.

$800 not possible to achieve at halving and the pump is over now as we won't see any major pump at halving, as we should be satisfied with price that we are watching right now

The time to reach 800 is long gone. I hope to see the price go above 700 dollars and perhaps even stabilize but it will be hard, very hard.
Maybe the price will test 500 dollar again,
we will soon reach even bigger prices than 800 dolalrs per bitcoin in my opinion, the price of it is going to grow because of a bitcoin block reward halving, in this way we would make a lot of money
No halving would not help the price rise, you must see where we are now just still around $600. we must realistic now the only make the price fly away if investor comes in a couple days before halving.
That is the good thing now that we are steadily staying with that price so we can buy more bitcoins in preparation of the coming halving. Just believe and we will achieve the price sooner or later, that massive adoption will just happen.

Buying now and holding it till the end of the year is the best thing to do, as halving will not show us huge price, but may be price will be on the top as we get closer to year end.

If you are a trader, you can hold it until the end of the year or when there is a 50% or more rise of the price.
184  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2.5 Years in Bitcoin and still holding. on: July 07, 2016, 09:17:57 AM
I also hold my bitcoin for more than a year. I do not see any other investments are better than the bitcoin.
185  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is over $9,000,000,000 in market capitalization for the 1st time in months on: July 07, 2016, 09:11:24 AM
It's amazing, as I write we're experiencing incredible numbers. Let's hope the uptrend continues!

June 3 update: having reached $576 per BTC, market capitalization has touched $9,000,000,000!
Look at the price we all know that this is impossible and it is not going to happen, we should be more realistic here and focus on what really can happen.
I am hoping for the value to be $1000 which is pretty realistic but some people on here hope for miracles.

Kind of like the many miracles that have happened in Bitcoin? What about the two miracles in 2013? Reality has shown that what really can happen in Bitcoin in a time frame of only 12 months is a 5,000% increase in price

If the Core team release the 2MB block size increase and the SegWit as agreed in the Hongkong meeting, the price will rise a lot.

bitcoin is really shining these days with the big rise so far and the stable state that it has right now.

i am specially excited about the media attention to bitcoin which is bringing a lot of new people and investors into bitcoin which will fuel the next big rise to the Mars.
stable? There is no word 'stable' in Bitcoin's dictionary. All we see now is a speculative pump, which sooner or later will end in a dump.
Whether it will be elevator down, or less step downfall it remains to be seen. But in that sense Bitcoin is too young and too speculative market to call it stable.

Stability is there but at some levels, as it gets seen for some months. Not important as if it remains there or not.
Of course, you don't want bitcoins to remain stable just at 250 even after this halving takes place, do you?

The bitcoin could remain stable around the $500 to 600 range for a few months since it is doing some corrections.

I think so. The longer the consolidation time, the higher the price will go in the next small bubble in the next few months.

For the next 10 years, if there is no major disaster, the bitcoin price will rise around 40-100% per year.
188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling All Bears! on: July 06, 2016, 06:44:20 PM
All aboard for the moon shot.

The bitcoin price could rise a bit to around $850 after the halving. Then it will stay there for a few months.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred GPU Miner v4.7 (Windows/Linux) on: July 01, 2016, 06:16:46 PM
Is anyone using RX 480s with powered risers?  My system runs for about 8 hours then reboots.  Plus the control center is the newer one and doesn't show temps.

I have the molex powered risers. That is connected to the motherboard PCIE slots as well. That is safer.

I ordered some they should be here today or Tues.  Waiting for them before I add the 4th card.

I'm still waiting for the 4 Gb 480. Maybe in a week or so, right?
ATTENTION !!

Do not buy RX 480, especially not for mining

PCI-E slot died with RX 480
https://community.amd.com/thread/202410

Thanks for the heads up..  I was looking at them hard recently till they came with the speed at which they mined at..   I wasnt too impressed.  Now this news is depressing.. Ill get some more 290x and undervolt them for the time being.  They seem like real workhorses.  Ill let the bugs get worked out of these first:)

Best Regards
d57heinz

On my test rig, I have a Sapphire RX-480 on the PCI slot of ASrock H81 Pro BTC, with both molex and PCI-USB3 riser powered from PSU (EVGA-G2-1300).

According to Kill-A-Watt meter it shows total rig is consuming 1.2amps and 195watts.

Running CDM v 4.7 on Win7, Crimson 16.6.2 for last 22 hours at 24.5MHs out of the box - no OC or undervolt!

Afternotes:

1. on ethpool.org, it shows 30MHs (effective hashrate) and 24.8MHs (reported hashrate).
2. I will getting 5 more cards to this rig tomorrow, and will be using the powered risers.
3. At this time, one 1 x 480 directly on PCI slot.

Running 1 test Sapphire 480 8 GB on H81 Pro BTC PCIe slot before transferring them to a 6 card rig. I increased memory to 2100 MHz with afterburner it automatically increased  core clock to 1265 MHz. Getting 26.1 MH/s at 170 Watt. It's been running for over 3 hours stable. No additional molex connected to the motherboard, if it survives 24 hours I would be very doubtful of the aforementioned  claim of 480 killing PCIe slot. And yes it doesn't make jet engine turbine noise even at 100% GPU load.

Edit: 2300 MHz mem clock gives 28.5 MH at the same wattage, overclocking to the max is certainly a possibility with the updated MSI AfterBurner Smiley

I would like to know the results when you transfer that to 6 cards rig with 6x RX 480. Good luck.
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Average block size was 0.951 MB on: June 19, 2016, 12:50:26 PM
A spam transaction with a below average 0.0001 BTC fee confirmed after 4 hours. So what? I think this shows that a healthy fee market is not fully developed, because spam transactions like OP's still receive this kind of premium service.

We need more fee pressure to incentivize optimizations for automated transactions and to drive transaction spam out. Microtransactions do not need the same level of service at a native Bitcoin layer than ordinary transactions. The former are better served by payment channels, that work faster and more efficiently for this use case.

There is no urgency to increase the blocksize at all. Bitcoin is working fine despite the staged drama from bigblock-fanatics.

ya.ya.yo!

Spam transactions? I sent 2.6 bitcoin a few days ago with 0.001 bitcoin with just 226Byte, it took more than 5 hours to confirm.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin halving on: June 11, 2016, 06:23:53 AM
Actually now halving is coming so in this reason bitcoin's price is increasing, after 2 or 3 months, halving is coming and it is very profitable way, mostly people save their bitcoins because of increasing price and in this situation halving has a great part. actually i am still waiting for halving and i like it.

We have already started to feel the halving effect, look at the price now, its going higher and higher and it will reach to the top when we reach to halving.

yeah but i think this is only a very small part of the huge effect that halving can have on the price. this little rise is nothing compared to the big rise that i have in mind based on the big rally that can come with it.

The big rally will come after the block size increase. This debate has suppressed the price for the last 6 months.
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin halving on: May 27, 2016, 02:06:17 PM
Do you guys think the law of Supply and Demand has a great effect with the halving? Or its a different thing, what if because of the halving, less miners would be interested and hence less supply of bitcoin, making people less interested. I'm just stating what I think, how about you?

yeah this is correct when bitcoin halving that time direct effect on bitcoin user and worth bitcoin more customer  leave a bitcoin using and many people think about bitcoin not good and that is not good for bitcoin future
Bitcoin is good for the future is wat most people say but no one is really sure that the future is going to bring us what we really want with in Bitcoin. We just have to wait it out and see what is going to happen.

That's true and no one is sure what will be the exact scenario at the halving stage, but I am sure this halving will surely bring some best news for us.

The bitcoin price rose 5% in the last few days, that could be effect of the halving, but not very sure.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin halving on: May 12, 2016, 08:08:57 PM
Will this be happening soon, like in the next four months, or we still guessing?

It will happen early or mid July. It is predicted to be on 10 July.

194  Economy / Speculation / Re: $400 will not survive the weekend on: April 30, 2016, 12:11:52 PM
For the last three months, the price of bitcoin is around $420 +- 20%. So it is quite stable. I think it will survive this weekend.

the topic was for last year and about whether or not it can survive 3 months ago Cheesy

Well, it did survived the first week of January..  Cheesy It just fall down during the hacking and drama issue...But it was back again at above $400 and still floating, though there are times that it dip, it just go back above $400 after a few days...

The bitcoin has survived many drops below $400 and come back to above that level. It is $468 now.

It survived another mini crash two days ago. The price is $455 now. Bitcoin has many lives to be actually.

Time to code for solo and fuck the pools  Cheesy

I like the solo mining. But the geth is not working too well. After certain network disruption, it will just hang.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: R9 Nano Modded Rom on: April 03, 2016, 08:16:53 AM

I could pull that down to around 5A with -100mV on the core clock, also stock clocks! Not bad at all! (Afterburner). "1100watt"

So with only doing that i would win 400 watt and some serious temperature changes.

Well, that wasn't enough for me :p

So i started messing around with the bios "rom".

I managed to modify the bios to set the stock vddc to -100mV (Afterburner's maximum negative offset is -100mV).
I also managed to modify the MVDDC, "Memory Voltage", also to -100mV (can't even do that in afterburner :p).

Ran another test with settings in afterburner at stock, didn't change a thing. And guess what?

Yeah, power went down to 4.85A Smiley "1055watt" another 45watt win. (not much but it's something!)

Enjoy!

Thanks for the good efforts.
So the memory consumes very little energy. With -100mV, power drops from 1100 to 1055W.

Another kwduck shitty prediction under an alt. Report and ban. Or actually leave the thread here to add even more shame for this endless collection of failed FUD prediction. This guy is a walking meme at this point. I can't wait to be above 400 dollars by monday consolidating moon time.

The price will consolidate around the $420 level for a few weeks at least. It is good for the next rise to $500.
199  Economy / Speculation / Re: $400 will not survive the weekend on: February 20, 2016, 03:15:57 PM
I'm prepared for small dump. It's too obvious price will stay in this range for some time.
Probably will go up or down for 10$, and nothing more.
But i will open my eyes widely and set alarms just in case..
I also expect $415 to hold the further rise. Nothing from the news that could be considered positive, halving still too far away and everybody talking about $450-500. Seems like a perfect setup to revisit $380.

I think the near future bottom is around $400. It will not drop below it for too long without really bad news.
200  Economy / Speculation / Re: $400 will not survive the weekend on: February 15, 2016, 01:02:40 PM
It is quite strange this weekend. In the past, there is usually price dip during the weekend. But there is a price rise today.

China came out of holiday and this weekend is workdays for them.

Does it mean when the Chinese start working, the bitcoin price will rise. The bitcoin price has risen quite a lot over the last few days.
