There is a way in Linux anyway. You can select password protected sites and launch a print reader. however I think it lowers your security somewhat. I was able to defeat my fingerprint reader with a pencil, a bit of white paper, and a some clear tape. If you think in terms of theory a fingerprint password means you leave a copy of your private keys on everything you touch.
 

Learning from your mistakes is a lesson. It seems like you have identified the major factors, buying a rally and buying alts.
You mentioned a "portfolio" I would argue that diversifying in the crypto space is mostly folly. Consider this. If cryptocurrency is still around and growing in 20 years then it is highly likely that Bitcoin will still have value and perhaps the highest value, like now. If bitcoin is not here in 20 years then it is unlikely any open-source, peer-to-peer, blockchain currency will exist. The alts are based on the same technology and do not offer any real market diversity. So in my opinion it is better to buy the gold standards in completely different markets. Buy bitcoin cryptocurrency, buy gold metal, buy productive land, buy AAA stocks.

As far as buying into a rally... That is okay if you are looking at a longer term investment and you believe in the future of your investment. If you are trying to play the volatility as a day trader then you are in a brutal market where tomorrows price doesn't matter anyway. Alts tend to not have a future beyond tomorrow.

Since making sick money in bitcoin I now see the scam... of U.S. dollars. If you saw what I now pay in taxes you would understand how unfair dollars are and how fair bitcoin is. But suit yourself

Those are good suggestions. I do have a more evil plan though, a way of addressing the problems you have identified. However if I got into it it could lead to an unfair advantage for someone.

I still haven't heard from whoever found it and I'm starting to think I never will. That is within the rules and maybe this person wants to keep their money completely anonymous?

This year  have a tentative plan for a game model that involves releasing many copies (100?) of the same private key.  I believe it will happen about mid-summer. It will be a race to find and transfer the bitcoin to a key that the winner controls.  I think it will be North America this year then South America next year.

Why do people think a rich guy will know something they don't? He is guessing not doing "technical analysis". There is simply not anywhere close to enough data to do that, no matter what you have been told.

Always start with a backup of your wallet.dat file. As long as you have that you are fine, lose it and you are hopelessly screwed.

I just migrated to 18.4 a few weeks back. It is more elegant if you can back-up everything and start with a fresh install of Ubuntu rather than a update. I like to then download the entire blockchain with core. It takes a week, but then you are set for a long time.

Install Bitcoin Core

Add Bitcoin Personal Package Archive (PPA):


You will be prompted for a password. Enter the one you use to log into Ubuntu.

Next, update Ubuntu’s software package lists:


Now, install Bitcoin core itself. Enter “Y” when asked asked for permission to continue:


This command installs Bitcoin Core and all of its dependencies.

Bitcoin special victims coin is about as legit as Craig Wright. You know, the guy who invented "trust-less cash" who now says he is Satoshi and wants us to take his word for it.
 

So there is an issuance fee... But what else? What is the rate and is there a transaction fee? I assume there is or it would be a cheaper way to sell.

Just subpoena the wallet host. Now I have every bit of information about the TX.

Long story short. With a mobile wallet you don't even own any bitcoin because you must completely trust the wallet. You are just controlling a balance attributed to you. But it is really up to the owner, the wallet host.

Why Bitcoin of course. Why would I want a local coin when I could have universal money? That is the B.S we have now. Constantly changing money for the location I happen to be in. Then losing money on each sell and buy. When I travel abroad I use bitcoin now. That is not going to change. 

I guess I can see how someone might see a miracle in the growth of a plant or the wonder of space. But I am completely baffled at how one might reconcile religion and math.  Mathematics is pure logic and has no room for belief at all.  It is completely predictable and provably knowable. So if you think God is going to make one plus one equal three, then you don't know God or math.
