As I was saying, more and more gateways on Ripple. http://www.coindesk.com/ripple-network-expands-addition-first-peso-issuer/
The one advantage Ripple does have is billions of XRP reserve. They can afford to launder a lot of money and bribe a lot of public officials. I keep hearing that Ripple isn't XRP, yet every news story is about XRP.

LOL where in this is article they are talking about XRP ? http://www.coindesk.com/ripple-network-expands-addition-first-peso-issuer/

WHERE ?
=D so funny.

It's been a while I didn't follow what's happening on mastercoin. About Ethereum I think they are starting too late to be a real competitor but we'll see. ^^
463  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 13, 2014, 02:11:00 AM

Actually this is not that new but I'm glad Coindesk is starting to report news about Ripple =) Mentality are evolving.

You can trade XRP on Kraken but they are not a gateway this is not the same thing.

Actually trading XRP outside the Ripple Network doesn't really make sense. This will become interesting when Kraken become a gateway.

466  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 13, 2014, 12:44:46 AM
Imagine that btc-e become a gateway too. Then you could immediatly transfer some USD from bitstamp to btce to do some arbitrage. You could also send your bitcoin in instant (instead of waiting +/- 45min) to btce, trade it then withdraw it.

wait does it mean that we can we actually already make such arbitrage between stamp and kraken?  Shocked  Grin

Nop cause Kraken is not a gateway YET. But it will probably become one soon. (it already trades XRP, its bank is Fidor, they said I don't remember where they're aiming to become a gateway).

I think Ripple is at best a stepping stone toward a more crypto centric mainstream and not in any way an improvement on the satoshi concept. Ripple doesn't allow for use cases without counterparty risk unless you're strictly in XRP, and their distribution of XRP basically guarantees that will never happen. Ripple is attractive in the short term if you believe that regulators will succeed in not letting us have nice things, but otherwise I don't see any advantages over truly-decentralized solutions.

I never let my bitcoins too long on an exchange, I keep them on exchange just the time I need to trade.

This is not different with the Ripple Network. So you can use it as a way to transfer your crypto or anything. If it's a decentralized trustless token like bitcoin then you can (and you should) withdraw it to your wallet as soon as your transfer/trade is done.

So this has the same problems, you need to trust an exchange platform/gateway the time it takes for you to trade/transfer your coins.

Otherwise there are only advantages using such system.

Are you actually a real ripple believer a bit unused to basic seduction techniques or just someone acting as a contrarian-troll to make people hate ripple?

I seriously wonder.

I'm unused to basic seduction techniques and I totally disrespect bitcoin fanboys =D Not bitcoin supporter just bitcoin fanboys saying CCMF and not able to see that Ripple is the next step for crypto =D

But yeah I think in 6-12months I'll switch to "I told you so" troll =D

I think he really means the use case of Ripple as a platform for BTC trades, and not specifically XRP as an asset.

Yes, absolutely, more and more bitcoin exchanges are becoming gateways on the ripple network, the next one will be kraken and probably Itbit.

I think Ripple will be a major improvement for bitcoin because it will allow nice arbitrage and faster way to send and receive bitcoin.

Dude, can you also make a post without Ripple? If people didn't hate Ripple already (due to the centralized get rich fast screen by the corporation behind XRP and the Ripple network) you're constant nagging would make them hate it.

I'm putting what will be the future. Bitstamp adopted it, Fidor Bank adopted it, soon Kraken and Itbit and people are still doubting there is something interesting behind ripple ?

It is not a "get rich conspiracy blabla" and this is not centralized. It will take time for people to admit it but this is the truth.

Exchanges are not needed for Bitcoin. Physical gold and silver don't have exchanges (yes they do, in theory, the COMEX and the like, but they are scammy places that do more harm than good to the ecosystem and no ordinary investor uses them).

PM 's have dealers. You want to buy/sell? Contact dealer. The dealers balance their positions between them, you only need one contact. Nobody gets scammed as you walk away with the product.

When the dealer network feels pressure that the price should be higher, make no mistake it will rise, as high as necessary.

Crying about Bitcoin's demise if the exchanges are choked is uninformed at best. I would rather do away with the exchanges in one fell swoop, if that would hasten the appearing of trustable dealers.

I used to be one. Don't have time currently but the matter may change.

what about ripple ?

Kraken is down... Angry Angry Angry

Nope, it's just you.
Kraken will be a Ripple  gateway, Itbit will be a Ripple Gateway, Ripple is the future !!
475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin just a stepping stone to something better? on: May 12, 2014, 12:40:27 PM
more and more bitcoin exchange plateforme are adopting it.

The next one this year will be kraken and Itbit and this is for good reason too. Even if you don't get it yet.

rIPPLE IS DECENTRALIZED OPENSOURCE AND XRP CANT BE CREATED AT WILL

That's an outright lie. Using uppercase won't make it more credible... Roll Eyes

Are you paid to post these lies or are you just too heavily invested in XRP?

Where is the lie ? are you kidding me ? Saying it's a lie based on your belief that anything except bitcoin is an illuminati conspiracy doesn't make your statement more credible.

Ripple is open source => https://github.com/ripple
Decentralized => see the wiki

And XRP can not be created at will (no more than bitcoin).

Educate yourself instead of bitching around.

I thought we were headed to the moon, not the basement. I knew 2 days ago it was more hype before the tanking, good thing I finally learned something real from this thread.   Roll Eyes

Next target is Ripple Network explosion. This is the ONLY way for bitcoin to go the next level.
