1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: January 28, 2024, 11:53:16 AM

However, I'm wondering if addiction can make someone become aggressive to the point of leading to domestic violence. Has there been any known case of it happening? Lets know what you have to say.

People with gambling addiction have lapses in their judgment, their minds are clouded all they can think of is making money and how to be in casinos they are alive when they are in casinos, and they do not treat their family as their homes so every time he gets home there's a quarrel that leads to domestic violence.
Based on one report divorce rates for pathological gamblers are approximately 54%. and a large part of this is due to domestic violence that stems from addiction of one partner.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What could make you get into a fight with your fellow gambler? on: July 15, 2023, 11:50:33 AM
I heard of a story about two gamblers that got into a serious fight on the grounds that a bet they merged an amount of money equally to place  using the online account of one person among their two. Luckily for them the bet won. But something happened, when it got to the sharing formula of the total amount won the owner of the account  insisted on taking a lion's share since it was his account that was used in placing the bet. The latter refusing to accept it that way they got into a serious fight. How pathetic!

Never make a deal with a gambler you do not its reputation or character, gamblers have a greedy part and its a part that want to take advantage of their fellow gambler, in fact, if there's a deal between you and your fellow gambler there should be a witness or a written agreement so whatever happens you are both bonded by that agreement.

Quote
What could make you get into a fight with your fellow gambler? And would you agree at anytime to double cash with your fellow gambler to place a bet using his account, on the notion of increasing the potential win.

No never only with friends and it should be for fun and the money is something that will not cause us to break our friendship like $100k.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: June 22, 2023, 02:15:50 PM

Well, it's much easier to fault the betting agent as, should henot have allowed the customer some credit facilities, then there would have been no reason or need for any catastrophe.
Still, this guy in question (customer) is a supposedly regular. Someone known to the agent to be credit worthy and probably might have tried something similar in the past and sorted it out. Maybe this time was a chance to learn some hard lesson.

I would blame the gambler for reasons not to have gambled responsibly. That's why gambling is reserved for sensible adults. Those who can say 'No to themselves' and stand by it. Clearly your staff isn't that person and let's greed get the best of him.

He should pay up what he owes, he incurred the debt and is liable to pay.

Of course, if you take a loan or if you owe someone money then you have to pay but I don't think its ok to demand payment if the player cannot afford to pay the amount, he will only pay based on what is excess on his salary and the casino agent will have to wait for that, here in our country debt will not put you in jail, the worker can only give a promissory note and his payment is on his ability to pay, that's lesson learned for the agent that he should pick who will give a loan.
If I were his manager I will fire him for lack of good judgment.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: June 19, 2023, 10:54:27 PM
It depends on who referred you as addicted to gambling if it's coming from someone who does not know anything about gambling and has an attitude of holier than thou then I will not be bothered at all, but if it's coming from someone I respect or some who has experienced in gambling I will take their advice and do action.

Gambling is risky and it's a fact, we may not know it but we may be playing without our boundaries and the best way to know is through opinions from people who know about gambling and who experienced the ups and downs of it.
5  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: all egyptians must stop visiting freebitco.in on: June 18, 2023, 10:58:35 PM

we are not a little number, we are 120 millions of people and most of us are needy families and use freebitco.in to earn anything in their life
and if they stop visiting this website; you will see the difference

Are you sure of that do you have data to back it up who are you to be a representative or the spokesman of your country, this is not fair for other Egyptians to say that their source of income comes from Freebitco.in.

It's your misery don't involve other people there are other good sites like Freebitco.in instead of you whining and complaining about freebitco.in go out and look for other good sites.

6  Economy / Reputation / Re: rby distrust me without any reason on: June 15, 2023, 09:48:49 PM
This thread serves two purposes:

Distrust and Trust awareness and Check who trusts and distrusts us

And don't make a big issue of who distrusts you. Cheesy

7  Other / Meta / Re: Why is this system not set up for the Bitcointalk forum? on: June 13, 2023, 11:18:10 PM
Because the high rank account of this forum has a value that cannot be compared with money. So why is the security of this forum not increased despite developing so much?
When this forum was created it just all talks and discussions about the development of Bitcoin, they never thought that this forum will become a promotion platform for projects through Signature, it works like a regular forum, and the members are the ones benefiting from these incentives so each member should be responsible for his account

I don't understand why this is not in this forum where everyone including the admin knows these things.  And since the forum was created almost 14 years ago, why has this not been done yet?  Is there any secret behind it?

There are already parameters on how to recover your account in case, we are not paying or sharing our earnings with the administrators in fact they are using their own money to run and maintain the site's security, so maintain your account if it's your livelihood or you have projects being promoted here.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: June 09, 2023, 12:54:47 PM
I’ve turned $1,000 into $100,000
I’ve turned $6,000 into $80,000
I’ve turned $11,000 into $550,000
and recently I’ve turned $4,000 into $90,000

With nothing to show for it…I’m a sharp sports bettor, but I always end up going all in. I can never be satisfied until it’s too late. I always need to go all in.

I’ve been reading comments from my last post (turning $4,000 into $90,000 and losing the entire $90,000), and I can’t help but feel like shit.

How do I get over the countless failures? I’ve been chasing the $1,000,000 dream for years.

It's easy all you have to do is to take a small profit and don't make it one time $1 million one session
So if you turned your $1000 into $10000 withdraw the profit and you're $900k to go, since you are good in sports betting you can reach it in a short period of time.

The key is to accumulate not hitting it one time.

9  Economy / Services / Re: Shilling service on: June 03, 2023, 02:18:07 PM
It is difficult to find Services except you come on here. I am looking for a shilling manager for my project. Our offer depends on your team size and our payment is flexible $50 - $100 each 24 hours. We will pay advance before start of work every 24 hours. Dm me on bitcoin talk with existing works

Why are you looking for a shill manager instead of a marketing manager do you know the meaning of the word shill in marketing?

Ok here it is

Quote
Someone who works for a business but pretends not to in order to seem like a reliable source is a shill. Shill marketing is the act of using a shill to try and convince the public that a product is worth buying. Sometimes illegal, this practice is usually considered dishonest. If customers find out that they have been targeted with shill marketing, they often feel cheated

More on this: https://www.smartcapitalmind.com/what-is-shill-marketing.htm

So if shilling is the kind of marketing that you are going to apply I don't think people will trust your product or service.

Care to drop your project so people will avoid it?  Cheesy Cheesy
10  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Duelbits, $500,000 scam alert. on: June 03, 2023, 02:04:43 PM
What I don't get here is, you've shared your withdrawals page and you were able to withdraw about 500 ETH and even 500k USD around 2 times (or more) if I'm not wrong as we all can see that there's a transaction ID shown there.

Didn't they come and ask you these things the very first moment you tried to withdraw?

I mean, why now? When you have already withdrawn there so many times, then what's the issue?

I don't know Duelbit's threshold amount for KYC but they should have done that in the first withdrawal they let him on the second time but the third time they have to do it because there may be fourth or fifth withdrawals coming that are as huge as those withdrawals and since they are compliant to money laundering they have to stop and ask for the source of funds, OP should understand this is something that's going to come eventually.

The lesson here is if you're going to deposit and play a huge amount you have to back it up where the funds are coming now you have to be truthful on the source of funds and hopefully you pass their criterias.

11  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Promotion service required for a referral matrix platform on: June 01, 2023, 02:36:54 PM
I do not know if referral matrix based websites are allowed here. But if they are allowed here then I am looking for Campaign Managers. If you want to check website then comment or DM and I will share.

If this is not appropriate section for this request then let me know where to move this topic.

You can lock this thread or you can move it to off-topic because no promoters will accept this kind of deal Referral matrix is a modern word for Ponzi Scheme and Ponzi scheme is not allowed here, you already got a tag and you will get more if you continue creating this kind of thread.

Better check the scam accusation and see for yourself the many referral matrices posted there, once you posted your platform it will eventually land on that section.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you invest in a project that might take years to outshine the market?? on: May 27, 2023, 02:50:20 PM
I found out in the blockchain world, many people are losing patience when they start to invest in a project. Their understanding about "long term" is no longer years but weeks.

Some project need time to build and shape. What do you think?

Some of these people invested money coming from loans or their savings and they want quick profit they are paying interest from their loans, and they need money coming from their savings they do not have patience for a long-term investment, good investments are projects with platforms and developers who are actively developing and testing the project before they launch their main net, it takes months or years to complete that.

And many investors are tempted to invest in pump-and-dump projects because many have seen that there are huge profits from these projects but they failed to realize that it's very risky to invest in these kinds of projects because you have to follow the project all the time for a pump, many are losing because they are late in dumping their bags after accumulating.

13  Economy / Reputation / Re: How wide reaching can the consequences of Chipmixer money laundering be? on: March 17, 2023, 07:37:38 AM

Will the International authorities follow up with Bitcointalk?

There's been a lot of discussion about Bitcointalk's liability in the case of Chipmixer there's already a ruling on this and so far it is not yet reformed so we can say that it still applies to this case
I would like to cite

Quote
Section 230 of a section of Title 47 of the United States Code that was enacted as part of the Communications Decency Act of 1996, it says Section 230(c)(1) provides immunity from liability for providers and users of an "interactive computer service" who publish information provided by third-party users:

Section 230 was developed in response to a pair of lawsuits against online discussion platforms in the early 1990s that resulted in different interpretations of whether the service providers should be treated as publishers or, alternatively, as distributors of content created by their users

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_230

Eliminating this section 230 will reshape the internet and this is the same defense Facebook and other social media platforms uses to defend themselves against the attack and their liability for the content their users uploaded.
14  Economy / Services / Re: - NEED HELP WITH CREATING A WEBSITE/ FORUM - on: February 09, 2023, 05:12:04 AM
Hi. I need help to make a website that gonna be a gambling & sports forum.
I pay with PayPal or BTC.

My budget is 300 USD so I dont need anything really really complicated.

If you serious, and honest and have the aknowlegde and are in need of some fast money.

Hit me up!

Cheers.

Actually, you can launch your own gambling and sports forum for as little as $50 that is right the figure is correct, but if you are going to hire people to launch and manage your forum that $300 will not go far, you've got to have a basic knowledge of how to manage your Cpanel

So let's break it down
domain: I'm talking about a not-so-popular domain it will cost you from $5 to $ 20 Namecheap is the best place to buy a domain because of its free privacy forever and you can top up your wallet with Bitcoin for renewing your domain and hosting

Webhost : For easy linking your domain to your host I highly recommend https://www.namecheap.com/hosting/ since you are hosting one site for a start-up get Stellar Shared Hosting $22.88

How to start:  sign up to Namecheap and buy a https://www.namecheap.com/domains/domain-name-search/ after buying your domain buy a one-year subscription to web hosting use the domain you bought from Namecheap

After you bought your domain and your web host you can log in to your Cpanel through your Namecheap account or from the information they will send to your email from your Cpanel on your Cpanel you can link your domain and launch your script

Please check the image I provided here this is what a Cpanel looks like there is a WordPress script, the SMF, the same script Bitcointalk is using
If you plan to do it yourself do a follow-up post here and we can post a step-by-step installation here if you bought a domain you will need to wait 24 hours for propagation.

To make things easy ask Namecheap support for a library link on how to run and manage a Cpanel, Namecheap support will even help you with the installation

15  Economy / Reputation / Re: campaign manager post counts behaviors; is this accepted? on: January 21, 2023, 03:11:21 PM
Hello all,
I want to know from people's opinion about their reaction towards a signature post.
Like for instance, you join a campaign and you are required to post about 20 or 25, but due to some reasons you decided to add additional  post to about 28 or even 29 post out of 25 required post. At last during weekly update you notice about your 5 to 10 post were disqualified.

Even if its additional 20 posts if those posts are redundant and not within the topic then these posts will be deleted and the manager will not qualify those posts.

Quote
What would be your reactions?
Do you think other managers who doesn't disqualify post aren't knowledgeable enough or they are just being friendly or knowing that not all that are fluent with english.
I have joined lot of well known managers campaign but they hardly rejects post.

Don't compare managers they have different rules that they implement, as a participant, you should be the one to adapt to the rules and what is required of you by the managers, remember you apply here, and by applying you agreed to follow what managers laid out in the campaign.

Quote
I am curious to know why only 1 or 2 managers do rejected post and remove participants without any note or comments on their spreadsheet.
What do we call this
Being rude or not being friendly?

I assume that the manager doesn't want to embarrass the participant and just waits for the booted participant to just ask him the reason why he is booted out.

Quote
Note very clearly that I don't mention anyone but if you think this post is directly pointing at you then you have to be compassionate with your participants as we all are humans despite you are a manager doesn't mean you should toy with peoples time and efforts.

I don't think there are managers who act like that, you're having this feeling because in the first place you failed to communicate with that manager, so you will be enlightened, don't assume unless you confirmed it.

16  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Potential SCAM :CryptoRop Enticing You To Deposit Money ON Exchange They Control on: January 14, 2023, 11:42:42 AM
If they direct you to exchanges like Binance, Kucoin, or other top exchanges in the market we can call it arbitrage but since this is a new exchange with no history of testimonials or reviews, we can then conclude that they indeed own or working on that exchange and this their platform to scam people.

They are good at explaining things so even if you don't know about arbitrage they will teach you how to do it and how to make a profit from it, it sounds logical you buy low on one exchange and sell it on another exchange at a much higher price.
Random people messaging you on telegram is not good, so you have to change the setting of your account so it cannot receive messages from random people.
17  Economy / Reputation / Re: I've been hacked (Electrum 4.3.2) on: January 13, 2023, 01:15:55 PM
Address Confirmed.

Total debts: 0.06349097 BTC

Already received:
In Bitcoin: 0.00861601 BTC
Creation of signature: 0.0016 BTC

Remaining amount:  0.05327496 BTC

We decided to continue using julerz12, to give him a second chance and allow him to partially pay off his debts to us. Without Escrow of course. He showed good will and tried everything to solve this problem and already paid us back a small part of BTC. We will adjust the amounts in the marked post until the debt is paid off. Our signature campaign will start again in the next few days  Smiley

This thread was created 4 days ago but OP's consistency and determination paid off he is slowly regaining trust it's still a long way to go but the hardest part is over, this is only a recommendation, and this is to lock this thread to avoid additional stress while you focus on your work, and only update this when there is a need, but it's still up to you.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is It good For The Casinos And The Accusers If .. on: January 13, 2023, 11:15:04 AM
Is It Good For The Casinos And The Accusers If the casino operators decided to post a disclaimer that they will not answer accusations here in Bitcointalk but prefer to address them on other platforms that they think are fair and moderated like Askgambler and other platforms?
What's your take on this I don't want to be specific but the question applies to all casino operators.

Website administrators should include in their knowledge subjects about SEO, if they have a complaint hanging, ignored, and avoided in a highly reputable platform like Bitcointalk it will show up in the search engine, that is why webmasters included in their campaign good ratings in sites like Trustpilot because it will have an impact on their reputation because they know that people will do a research and they usually use Bitcointalk, Askgambler, other platforms, and the search engine when it comes to gambling reputation.
19  Economy / Reputation / Re: I've been hacked (Electrum 4.3.2) on: January 12, 2023, 08:41:00 AM
I also just posted the listing of my motorbike on Facebook [ LINK ]
I understand that you wanna prove that you are doing everything you can to repay the money lost, but I don't think that this a smart thing to do, to doxx yourself over this. Imho, you should remove that link asap.
Bro, I support the removal of the link if you want to prove that you are selling the bike you can ask a friend to do it on your behalf and just add in the description, your Bitcointalk username to prove to unbelievers that you are selling this, or you can also lock your Facebook profile to protect your privacy, there's a better way to do this.
20  Economy / Reputation / Re: I've been hacked (Electrum 4.3.2) on: January 10, 2023, 10:36:00 PM
I have been watching this drama since last night and I don't really want to blame OP for his mistake because everyone makes mistakes and sometimes it can ruin our entire progress which took years to build but as everyone said you holds the responsibility of paying it back to the company that is the only way to prove your not guilty.
Many of us do watch this thread, this thing can happen to all of us, but so far OP has all the things that need to be done he created a thread on what happened, and he reaches out to the developers of the projects he is managing, he opened himself to criticism, he offers a plan on the payment of the stolen fund, he allows to get tagged.
All he wants is to get back on his feet, so let's give him a chance to redeem himself, he deserves it he worked his way to become a trusted manager for five years.

Sometimes everything works against us and that's the life so don't lose your heart and think what you can do further and about your system I think its better to take back-up and flash the OS as soon as possible instead of looking for clipboard malware or something, and move whatever funds and any sensitive information stored should be moved to a new wallet and document.to ensure its safety.
After what happened to OP, I spent the whole night checking my PC since I'm also using Electrum to download additional anti-virus and checked all unused applications, OP opened our eyes to the fact that we must have a conscious effort to safeguard our system.
