61  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODL or SODL? on: February 09, 2018, 01:36:20 PM
My strategy is to accumulate as many coins as possible of the best projects and hold until 2020.
I think that only the best projects will survive in the long run, say 5% of everything we see today
I am convinced your strategy will work. The mini coins and the ICOs I think as well they will not make it. The world does not need tons of cryptocurrencies. They were all create only by the purpose to draw money out of the pockets of the small investors. That will either be closed by laws or by the sense of the people.
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto ATM - Would you use them? on: February 08, 2018, 05:59:20 PM
To be honest, I do not see what a crypto atm can bring me what I can not do at a regular exchange. For fiat an ATM makes sense because paper money exists. But bitcoin is a digital currency. The only thing I can imagine is that a crypto ATM is good for buying bitcoin anonymous when all the exchanges get regulated. But I if that is the case, I doubt ATMs will stay not regulated for long.
63  Economy / Economics / Re: Do we need regulations? on: February 08, 2018, 05:52:55 PM
Regulations help to prevent scams and they help the society if taxes on crypto profits are paid like on every other profit as well. Through that the public image of cryptocurrencies gets better. And when we have good publicity we get new people joining and investing in the crypto world. This is benifitial to all of us!
64  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do you want high price of bitcoin after all? on: February 08, 2018, 05:46:06 PM
At first I want to say: Read my post carefully and don't spam.
We all wanted high price, higher than 1000$ and got it, we got even 19k and there people were hoping more than 20K, they think like it's infinitive.
Did so high price do a good job? No, higher satoshi/byte fees became even higher in value because of price rise, some exchangers closed registration and etc. In reality there was no need of 19k but I think currently it's best to see price between 5000-8000$. There isn't so much demand.
You want high price to get much from holding? Seems you hang on bitcoin and are only selfish.
I do not see the transaction fees as such a big problem. Bitcoin has become an investment, the number of transactions I do with an investment is much lower than with a currency. At my stock exchange for example I'm paying higher fees than with a bitcoin transaction at a bitcoin price of 15K.
I think as well that a price somewhere from 6K to 8.5K is a good level and I would not mind if bitcoin could stay within this level for a while. It would help to regain trust for the normal user. The high volatility is something for the traders, but bitcoin can not be made up only of traders.
65  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin lower than $6000? Is it possible? on: February 08, 2018, 04:27:41 PM
I do not see a real reason why the price should not be capable to drop below 6k. Two days ago we were already very close to that number. I suppose a few bad articles more in the media and we would have crossed that line. Luckily the support at 6K was stable this time. But this does not mean that next time it will be the same.
66  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin End World Poverty? on: February 08, 2018, 04:07:47 PM
The basics to fight agains poverty must be established by the local government. People need to have certain skills like reading, writing and mathematics. Unfortunatelly many people can't do that, and those are the realy poor people in this world. Without those skills there is no way how anybody can participate in the world of cryptocurrencies. The local governments need to create schools and teach the people as a first step, cryptocurrencies can be a second step.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan plans to become the Bitcoin capital of the world. on: February 08, 2018, 03:55:07 PM
I do not like the idea of having a bitcoin capital. Bitcoin was created to be decantralized. And having a capital would be the exact opposite of that. I like the idea of bitcoin being  accepted everywhere in Japan. But we have seen what it brings when too many miners or exchanges are concentrated in a country when China had the leading position.
It's not even that I think the government in Japan would act like China did. But when bitcoin is concentrated in one place, then fake or FUD news about that place can have a heavy impact.
68  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't look at btc every five minutes on: February 08, 2018, 03:08:56 PM
When you do trading there is no other choice than to watch the market closely. Otherwise you will miss the small opportunities you get here every day.
But for the holders, especially the long term holders it is really a good advice not to check the price too often. The investment decision was made, and by seeing ups or downs you get always tempted to change your pland. And the changes are usually not so carefully thought through than the investment decision itself.
69  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your opinion on HODL the Bitcoin? on: February 08, 2018, 03:04:49 PM
With hodling you avoid to make wrong trading decisions. And making a wrong move with trading happens often. Sure, you depend completely on the developement of the one currency you hold. But bitcoin is the most dominant coin, so it will develope about as good as the market. When somebody goes into cryptocurrencies then he expects the market to grow. So the decision to hold your bitcoins is the safest bet to make profit here in my eyes.
70  Economy / Economics / Re: Do bitcoin millonaires deserve their wealth? on: February 08, 2018, 02:49:52 PM
When somebody makes his fortune and is abiding the laws that exist in his country on the way, then he deserves his wealth! Seeing an opportunity in the early stages like many saw in bitcoin, that is something that should be rewarded appropriately.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can be hacked? on: February 07, 2018, 07:44:46 PM
Really hacking bitcoin in order to create blocks by purpose, that is not possible at the moment. If it would be, somebody would have done so and the bitcoin would be worthless. What the future holds, nobody can tell. I don't even think of the quantum computers that are often mentioned. I am more thinking of artificial intelligence. If the programs get smarter over time maybe one of them will find find a way.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have You Been Scammed? on: February 07, 2018, 07:23:50 PM
With cryptocurrencies I only participated once at an investment program. And what can I say, I got the promised amount. I think I earned about 5 dollars. I did not participate in the second turn and was right to do so because then it turned out to be a scam. That was the most risky thing I did with my coins. I am really proud that nobody was abel to scam me with cryptocurrencies... yet.
The funny thing is that with paypal I actually paid once something I never got, without a refund.
73  Economy / Speculation / Re: I bought at 19k, now what? on: February 07, 2018, 04:24:10 PM
Really sorry to read that op. I hope you have the time to wait a while. Maybe bitcoin recovers to the point you bought within the next year or so. In case you don't have that time, you could try to work with one of your three bitcoins. Maybe you are a talented trader. I see it this way: you already owe somebody more than you can pay back. If you can't pay back 30% more, how much worse does your situation get?
Small tip: never use borrowed money for crypto currencies.
74  Economy / Economics / Re: Choosing the one | What I think! - Real Job or Full Time Crypto! on: February 07, 2018, 04:14:11 PM
Looking at ops list, most of the tasks on the crypto side only offer a very small income. You would have to live in a country with a low average income that you could make a living by that. In the more developed countries I do not see that those tasks could replace a real day time job.
75  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big whale liquidating his stash of bitcoins on: February 06, 2018, 03:56:40 PM
Is it possible that the wallet is directly owned by bitterex?
In that case they would need the coins to pay the customers who request a withdrawal.
76  Economy / Economics / Re: Crisis is Coming on: February 06, 2018, 03:24:12 PM
Isn't it crisis already? Those weak minds who sold their cryptos at the very cheap price makes the crisis even more severe especially that Chinese New Year is already near.
Op was talking about the recent flash crash at the stock exchange in New York, not about the crash of the cryptocurrencies.
Regarding the cryptocurrencies, here I would agree. When we see losses of 70% there is no other way than to call this a crisis.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung has now entered the cryptocurrency world on: February 06, 2018, 03:20:30 PM
As we know Samsung is one of the biggest and famous phones, smartphones, tablets producers in the whole world and now they are planning to make there own mining software. Is this a good news for us bitcoin users? I mean what are they aiming for?

For more info just read visit the link: https://www.sammobile.com/news/samsung-is-reportedly-making-mining-hardware-for-cryptocurrencies/
Is it a mining software they planning to create or hardware? because as far as I know they are planning to make mining hardware that is specially designed only for cryptocurrency mining (preferably altcoin mining) for cryptocurrency miners stop buying graphics card (which is originally designed for gaming) so that the price of GPUs will be back to normal again and it will be good news for people who wants to build a gaming pc. And I also found out that they also partnered with bitmain and they supply chips for them.

The company has reportedly begun manufacturing ASIC hardware. I think it is some 16nm chip that I have read about, it will be a competition for the Antminer. Hopefully that new competition can lower the prices on the market for mining hardware.
If Samsung would be designing software, that would be either creating their own pool or their own currency.
78  Economy / Speculation / Re: China banned crypto, sell your BTC while you still can. on: February 06, 2018, 03:11:02 PM
The cryptocurrencies have started to move away from China. If they ban or ban not in 2019, I'm sure the cryptocurrencies will not bother that much. Besides, the problems that could come up in 2019 are not of any concern at the moment. At the moment we need to keep the down trend in check that we have right now.
79  Economy / Economics / Re: Crisis is Coming on: February 06, 2018, 03:06:30 PM
I don't see a crisis there for the moment. What we saw yesterday will recover today because for the moment the fundamental data of the companies are still good, and the interests are not too high yet. But as soon as the interests will increase, I am convinced we see an end of the bullish market, especially in the US. And the rest of the markets will follow that lead.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If it's a trend, why Facebook is unlikely to use crypto payments? on: February 06, 2018, 02:55:46 PM
I have already heared some rumors that facebook is working on its own cryptocurrency. They have their own coding language, why not create their own currency? One first step would be to remove the ads of the competitiors. Pretending that it is for the benefit for the users would be a good excuse. And after a while they show up with their own token.
