541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: March 01, 2016, 11:54:02 PM
Right now, 1 LISK = 0.0089 USD

the value of Ethereum (1 ETH) was 0.30 USD on launch

You need to combine this figure with the fact that this pathetic Nodejs shamble never ever will be used by any body in the real world, outside of this toxic scam driven Bitcointalk microcosmos (as I am sure you are aware of even Bitcoin and Ethereum are having a really hard time with real world adoption).

Do you know why the Cripty clowns weren't able to get one single real world business customer nor to implement one single commercial use case in the last 18 months? Because there is simply no monetization route for these kind of applications. The only monetization route is to sell this nonsense to the noobs, naives and idiots. No businesses nor any real world solution providers are interested in this proposition. That's why Crypti ran out money, so these two wankers could step in by collecting money again from these idiots while the process is pushed by the army of sockpuppets and shills.

The even a bigger wanker in this process is that German lawyer who assists to this scam. I think it is time to contact the German law enforcement and let them know about this blatant fraud. The money collector wankers call this blatant scam "donation". That's how primitive they are to believe that the naming will change the nature of their fraud. What kind of lawyer in his right mind gives his name to such obvious scam?

First of all, you won't get any bonus with XCR. 1 XCR will always count as 1300 satoshi without any bonus. Additionally, I personally contacted Bter and Poloniex a few days ago and asked them to take a look at Crypti, i.e. the XCR withdrawal isn't working correctly. Please note that Bter is sitting somewhere in China and Poloniex is a cabin in the woods of the UK afaik. I can only do the same as you, contact them and hope for the best. Smiley

The ICO is still running for over 3 weeks. I'm sure in that time frame Poloniex at least will work again. Smiley
Thanks for the reply.

As for the bonus, I think you misunderstood what I meant. I know that XCR doesn't get a bonus, but if it's clogged up forever on an exchange, I'd pay in btc to get the bonus... so timing there does matter.

But like magic, a short time after I made this post, my Polo coin went from pending to sent. So I guess it's just unusually sluggish (sending btc was like a speed demon in comparison). So at least Polo does seem to work, albeit a bit slow.

Not sure about Bter, I got stuck there, another user here PMed me about it, and he was stuck there too the other day.... guess safest route is to avoid Bter if you can.

due to low volume on bter i think they making too less money having a big focus on security. i would recommend to slowly transfer positions out of bter.

Does anyone know why Poloniex is ignoring this coin?  #13 by market cap and respectable volume given that it's not on Poloniex.  At this point it appears they have something against the coin.

My request as well. Guess to low volume and to less requests. Keep on requesting, make some PR and wait for good news on emercoin. Will buy when back under 4700 Sat. Long term invest. Once the bomb explodes it has been worth the time.

I have to say I'm pretty suprised how successful this ICO is.
This is some nice money, that you can use to build a community and make real progress.

Of course I've been sitting on a few million Crypti since 2014 thinking the same thing. That ICO money went somewhere, presumably mainly for developer salaries.
All things considered I'm happy that you decided to fork, crypti devs "mission accomplished" attitude pissed me off.

I'm interested how you are planning to spend the funds. I'm sure planning this out will take time, so not asking for specifics, but really don't want to see history repeat itself and see Lisk die after bulk of the ICO money spend on salaries. Pay yourself for the job, and pay well, but your real reward should come if and when Lisk becomes successful.

Vega your good thoughts deserves a reference.

I as well thought the foundation would be a good idea but it proved to be not that effective leading to the birth of this coin.
well planned budget and burn rate are a must.

Back than with Crypti i suggested setting up a lock periods on the funds with vesting mechanism. SyRenity's answer was that there is no need for that due to the foundation, which we all agree was underperforming... I believe we should address this as well at this point.

Seeing how they dealed with their former partners, community and the foundation problem is the main reason, i jumped in.
I wasn't really a core crypty community member, but see, thing that unfolded, had probably more to do with  this foundation approach then with people i totally agree. Foundations have a place, where they a doing a good job, but as often, the "Bug" and the "Feature" of Foundations are simply the same thing. They  are slow and have blown up decision processes. They are not made, to outsource management for a modern fast moving  bunch of people. This overhead, elephant characteristic, at the same time, make foundations a Superstar if it comes to preserve a certain policy over generations, like managing raised funds for nonprofits, where they often are a ROCK of stability in that terms. But every use outside this field is doomed to fail (BitcoinFOUNDATION Wink the structure makes even good guys to bad guys sometimes. (same for governments)
I did spend that much thought on that, because this story was for me, one of the key points to trust our current team. Though i also pay cryptis expenses, by joining this ICO (say thank you crypty Wink ), i liked to see the way, they took care, not to leave the old community behind. If a project failed its always a source for stress and even friends that experienced such thing, but stayed REAL friends, after  the "crash"· are fucking seldom. For me prove of a great personallity, to do business with. Jep, that's what convinced me, to jump in (plus the great idea to work with javascipt of course)...

so long
Matthias Smiley

such a nice comparison of your thoughts. i do agree totally with it

I can understand the hype all you guys are going through, as I said I will change all of my XCR into LISK, but at this stage just to make sure I am not the only one surprised here...

I do not know the latest stats, but in the morning community gave these two guys $1/2 MILLIONS where one was a promoter and the other one a freelancer in a project they both joined after it needed some $help. After reading all these "cheerleaders'" type of pages (here I must say I have nothing to do with psychology) I looked at Vitalik's face and Max's face ... and just dropped 15BTC into ETH. Although technology is there, there is no way to compare to ETH, don't forget the f..cked original devs.

I will not invest a single satoshi here. I am glad you all already calculating how much profit you made, but to me personally I would not marry a girl who had 3 previous husbands dead, you want to know why? self-preservation.

I will never understand these kind of posts, ever.

When you invest you do your research, this is correct, I believe everyone does this, or everyone should do it.

If you decide to invest in a project it's because you like the idea of it. If you don't invest in a project, why would you blatantly express negative comments on your investing decision? Oh, right, free speech.

This is what a life coach would define as a negative person, or a non-positive reinforced character.

Piece of advice: Move on, keep threading, love what you do, do what you love.

You know what gets me the most, the remark about looking into Vitalik's face and comparing it to Max. Instead of making a hasty and inconclusive judgement about physical attributes, wouldn't it be beneficial to suspend the pre-judgment and wait to measure and analyze the projects potential?

No further questions your honor  Cheesy

imagination and fantasy is what makes the asset. you might heard of buy the rumor sell the fact. so here we go. put in some BTCs and enjoy the show.

also: hiring some good devs from "$1/2 MILLIONS" should be possible to make this thing a long term run profit out the blockchain ideology and the investors side.

could highly pay off .. i like the way the devs think ....they chose the baddest coin out there  (Ethereum) and challenged it. just the challenge itself and shooting that high with such high caliber contender ETH is a win already IMO...good  luck Lisk... im in im sold ... SmileyBTC

Gulden funding page says

"Gulden packages are sent within 48 hours after receiving payment.
Please send your payment from your own Bitcoin wallet and don't use an exchange or third-party service to avoid complications."

I would like to purchase some 10.000 – Prime + Physical Gulden coin packages but have no bitcoin wallet running on my pc (because of security and blocksize reasons).

So isn't it totally impossible to transfer the btc amount over e.g. bitcoin.de or poloniex?

Or will there be a chance to do so?

Regards

Why are people dumping so much BTC into this ICO?

The previous project of the LISK developers, crypti, is not massively successful.  History of low trading volume and sub-1000 btc market cap.

What makes you think they will be massively successful with their new LISK project?

Crypti has wandered in the wilderness for almost two years trying to perfect something different and special in the cryptocoin world.  We won't even go into their code failures, which were legitimate attempts to develop something new and worthwhile.  Give the Crypti team this, they never gave up.  Their latest direction - side chains / dapps written in JavaScript that can be run with microcomputer boards - is a brilliant idea that has successfully made it to "alpha" / "beta" status.   The 0.5.5 code base is ready to go.  However, time and attrition had sapped Crypti of funds, key personnel and a team agreement of what to do next.

Lisk is an attempt to take Crypti to the next level with a solid code base, the most enthusiastic members of the Crypti team, and a second round of funding for a start-up.

When you eject deadwood, keep the green shoots, mix in fresh blood and money on the right idea at the right time -  that's when you have a shot at going places.  And being massively successful.

That's what I believe about Lisk.

Crypti raised 8500 BTC and issued 100,000,000 XCR in return, back in July 2014

Now Crypti market cap is down to 1000 BTC, initial investors lost 88% of their BTC.

I think it's crazy to expect anything different from the same people doing the same thing again under a new name.

it's an ICO, so nobody knows whats happening in future. give some support, help the community, future is what you can form on your own

First day reward

You can still get the first day rewards until 6.30AM GMT+1, 23rd February 2016. Please use THIS clock for reference.

What is the first day reward?

Special reward for day 1 participants

In order to provide a higher incentive to participate in the ICO from day one, we will be taking 200,000 LISK out of our own funds, and distributing them to all day one ICO participants according to their exchanged amounts. The extra reward will be given to users who donate BTC or an altcoin accepted by ShapeShift within the first day of the ICO launch.

For example:

At day 1 if we collect 100 BTC from 3 users (A/B/C):

If User A sends 20 BTC, he will receive 40,000 LISK from the day 1 reward.
If User B sends 30 BTC, he will receive 60,000 LISK from the day 1 reward.
If User C sends 50 BTC, he will receive 100,000 LISK from the day 1 reward.

The reward will not be visible in the genesis block, as we will distribute the 200,000 LISK manually out of our own accounts after the launch.

Please be aware that XCR participants are not eligible for this reward.

Current Status

Hello Everyone, we planned to start the ICO 1-2 hours ago. Unfortunately there was a small problem which we successfully fixed. We are now deploying the fixed version, test it again and then release it to the public. We are terribly sorry for the delay. If you are living in a timezone in which it's night right now, we advise you to go to sleep. The 1st day reward will be extended for the time of the delay. Therefore you will have more than enough time to exchange your crypto-currencies during the first 24h. The whole ICO won't be extended, because with 4 weeks there is more than enough time to participate. We will explain it in detail later.

Why it's taking so long

This is not a regular website. There are several integrations (coinbase, shapeshift, crypti) built into the website. Additionally, it's running on a cluster to have redundancy, integrates several security mechanisms/functionalities and more. After we fixed the small problem it just takes a while to go through all the necessary steps again.

The site will blast you away! Once you see it, you will forget this small delay.

thanks for the details on the delay. good luck guys Cheesy
