Hi there, I've used your bitcoin repository to install the bitcoin-server and it's dependencies. After installation the daemon didn't start. By starting on the command-line I get the following error: [root@256bit ~]# bitcoind /usr/lib64/bitcoin/bitcoind: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/bitcoin/bitcoind: undefined symbol: EC_KEY_free I found out other users had the same issue ( https://github.com/error10/bitcoin/issues/1), the solution is apparently to update to the latest version, can you update your repository?

Lots of people here locally with mercedes have a german plate on the front.
In Holland you cannot, if you persist doing this (living in Holland, driving with a German licensed car), you will be taxed by the Dutch govenment. I supposted this is in all countries. However, the question still stands of course; is this a random picture, or the actual car? PS @ TS: If you want to sell the car, I advise also some pictures from all sides and one or two of the inside and some specs of the car...

Hello All,
For sale is a 1991 Mercedes-Benz 190e with 165,xxx miles (266k kilometers)
Located: Franklin, TN, USA
Is this the actual car, or just a picture ripped of the internet somewhere? I ask this, since the picture contains a german license plate.

Running bitcoind, the service behind qt is the simplest valuable contribution to the network.
Perfect, thanks for your suggestion. Using the bitcoind service is definitely the right way to go (didn't know this, as I was normally using the windows Qt client). I guess I should disable the default 8332 port (and open 8333), right? Also because I've to specify username/pass for that configuration, as this is unknown to user "Anonymous". My goal is to be a "supernode" for relaying blocks and transactions, and clients can use my server to download the blockchain. Could you guys give me a few hints regarding the configuration? Also regarding the fact this server is directly connected to the internet and has IPv4 & IPv6 available. Besides that, under the Windows client I'm often facing I'm not getting higher than 8 connected clients, of course I not want this for this "supernode" (the server used should be able of 1000+ connections). Any idea's regards to that issue, as using UPnP doesn't make sence (as it's directly connected to the internet)?

1 full rig: sempron 145, asrock 970 extreme 4, 4gb kingston hyper x ram, 320 gb 2.5" wd3200bpvt disk, 5x pci-e extenders, 5x 7970, enermax platimax 1500w psu.
Price for 1 full rig with components listed above mounted in a custom aluminum case is 1700 EUR + shipping.
Shipping to Netherlands for 1 rig would be around 50 EUR. Shipping to USA for 1 rig is around 70 EUR.
Thanks for your reply. This was to be honest not what I had in mind, what I have in mind is probably offending, so keep it like this. I understand the hardware is well worth it (your offer). Anyways, good luck selling your gear. I'm sure you'll be selling the stuff as it looks to be in exellent state.

Hi all,
Not sure if I'm posting this in the right subforum, please move if needed.
Since I like Bitcoin, I want to make a contribution to the network by making my servers which I own available as Bitcoin nodes. I not want to do any form of mining, and making profit out of it is definitely not the intention.
I want to setup a reliable base-node (fallback node is the right term I suppose), which people can connect to. I suspect the 'usual' bitcoin-qt client might not be optimized for that.
What software can I used best? I've linux and windows servers available. The servers are located in NL (Datacenter), and connected by Gbit Uplink.
Please give me some suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Not a security flaw, but bug: Go to Buy Bitcoins -> Select nothing ("Select payment method") -> Enter address (12gKdNCYoEZ9SfnRkiouNJV2QrCdyC8ooD) -> Error page "Bad gateway"
Edit: and please include "labels" for the textboxes, I had to look in the source which field is for what (IE)...
The text boxes have labels in them, until you click in the text box and start typing. I understand what you mean, I see them in the source however they not show up in my Internet Explorer... EDIT; see screenshot below

What is the licensing type for these licences? OEM, VLK, RTM etc?
Are these licenses uses before (already activated?) Can you also provide a DVD/CD which "accepts" the key (if you use an ISO for VLK, you cannot use an OEM-key and visa-versa)?

But due to the subscription itself, i can only manage to upgrade you're account to premium after the current sub is ended.
Hopefully i managed to answer you're question as good as possible, but if there is something that isn't clear, please feel free to ask!
All clear, will stop the subscription now, when this period is finished (22/01/2013) I definitely want to make use of your offer. If I not write you on or after the 22nd, please write me a PM, most likely I just forgot .

Hi,
I'm currently already a Spotify Premium member for 9.99 EUR/mo. Can I cancel that subscription, and use (on the same account) this offer? Or is that way not possible/supported?
Your offer looks really interesting.

so now everybody hates ASICMINER? where did this come from... just because some think they are building centralized farm? IIRC they want to sell the hardware later..
I don't really think that's the case. People are trying to make profits, and thats why they purchase a ASIC. Whoever seems to be first, or have an idea that might take their profit vanish (or lot less profitable) will be their enemy's. Earlier it was BFL when they announced (** oh no, can't be true, scam scam), then it became bASIC (after BFL postponed), then people turned over to Avalon, and now it's ASICMINER. I think that's how people reason, unfortunately human kind are sons of bitches every one in a while .

Now that we know there will be 4055 chips per wafer, and that the die area is 16mm˛, I can refine my math and prediction: - each Avalon chip will have 1/10th the number of transistors of the BFL chips (16mm˛ at 110nm vs. 56.25mm˛ at 65nm) - BFL chips are 7.5Ghash/s, therefore Avalon chips should do 0.75Ghash/s (approximately, since the clock will be somewhat different) <cut>
You do realize that based on your calculation for a single Avalon device, which is advertised as 66Gh/sec, they would need 88 chips. That sounds very unlikely to me...

No. Bitcoin uses SHA2-256 as proof of work, Litecoin uses Scrypt. ASICs currently in development can do one thing and one thing only: hash SHA2-256
Thanks for the straight and clear answer. Pity though... ;-)

Hi to all,
I'm one of the (hopefully) happy future owners of an ASIC, and are checking my (future) possiblities if the difficulty exponentially grows and rewards drop for Bitcoin Mining.
Mining software that will be used is cgminer or bfgminer. Will a "Bitcoin ASIC" be able to mine for Litecoins too?
From the general perspective it looks like LTC is setup the same as the BTC architechture, however I'm not that deep into it. Who can enlighten me?
- Mike

I'd love to if you can respond to this message BitSyncom.
-1 No need for that as long this will continue the "word-fight" right? No one needs it... Agreed & changed, I'm always a "confirm you read this" guy, so thats why I wrote that... No flaming intended or what so ever.
