What do you think about this new DCR privacy feature in the light of upcoming FATF rules? https://www.coindesk.com/fatf-crypto-travel-rule While I'm looking forward for Decred DEX, it sounds like new private transactions is a huge red flag for US-regulated exchanges like Coinbase, Bittrex, Binance US and major part of reliable (read regulated) exchanges. Your thoughts? Wouldn't this privacy feature kill the poor liquidity completely when regulated exchanges will have to delist all anon coins (deadline mid-Summer 2020)? It's a very valid point. Let's hope enough liquidity is provided via DEX. Of course, if most centralized/regulated exchanges do delist, volume will be driven to dex's anyway. Decred volume across exchanges is absolutely couch cushion change level. However, I don't think paying a market maker to try and provide liquidity is anywhere close to the correct answer. The project has just never really taken off in terms of popularity, and in my experience if a coin doesn't have a lot of momentum out of the gate and maintain and grow that momentum, it's very difficult to get the ball rolling again at a later date (although Decred is still in active development by some smart folks, to date I think this still holds true).

I believe it's better to have a good cryptocurrency than have a shitcoin that good marketing is what it only has. Many coins developers realized years ago that eventually people will reject transparent ledger cryptocurrencies. That is why they starts thinking of how to make their ledgers as opaque as they can with as little as possible penalties. Some that are capable of doing things like Decred started showing results. The rest stayed at plans like Litecoin and many others.

A handful of the ~20 pool nodes got stuck mining a super old block... since the nodes were not agreeing, others were mining "empty" (coinbase only), but valid, blocks for quite a while.
Seems there was some breakdown of my alert system and I wasn't notified appropriately. Some headaches in the rest of my life have kind of made this a lower priority and I, admittedly, hadn't manually checked on things for a while besides a physical look at the servers themselves occasionally.
In any case, I've got the pool server offline for the moment while things are resyncing. Should be back online sometime in the morning by my estimates. Will make another post afterward.

Now that all the excitement on Segwit2x has died with it, I believe some of the altcoins will start to gain in the next few weeks. In the next dip, I will be trading a large portion of my Bitcoins in DCR.
Please know that Decred will be my first long term altcoin investment.
