How come it became a Day match, I thought they had their timing set for the series decider.
Looks like a bad scheduling to me. You got your wish of no dead rubber match but it's a working day and that too in the morning. Who will fill the stand and many people not even watch live on telly. This should've been fixed to the weekend, that's how you generate some sort of revenue.
It looks very odd to have an ODI in day light. 2nd ODI was played on 15 March and 3rd ODI should be on 17 March or Sunday but strangely they didn't schedule the match on Sunday. Things looking not much good for Sri Lanka at the moment, they have lost 7 batsmen and score is 172 in 40 overs. Score predictor telling that Sri Lanka will give a target of 215 and that wont be difficult to chase. Both matches in this series are won by side batting second. After seeing the Bangladesh team struggle, I remembered the match that was cannot forget easily. In 2017, when the Pakistan and England match was playing, it was not a normal match. Bangladesh team batting in the second innings, I would say they are not doing well in any way. Right now the Bangladesh team is under a lot of pressure and they are playing badly and their batting performance has not improved at all. Played a bit well in the beginning, their game has gone very bad at the moment, especially after the dismissal of Nazmul Hasan Shanto and Anamul Haque, the run rate has gone down a lot. But one of the great batsman of Bangladesh, Tanzid Hasan, is batting very well. If he survives, he can bring victory to Bangladesh. And the target of 236 runs is not very high so if the Bangladesh team can still play then there is definitely a possibility of winning and can win the series. Right now Bangladesh team has lost two wickets but they still have enough wickets, so Bangladesh team still have to play cautiously as Sri Lankan team will not let Bangladesh go so easily.
I think Bangladesh team is having hard time in their second turn at bat. Pressure is high and they have not been batting well. But Tanzid Hasan is doing a good job and could help Bangladesh win. They need to be careful and play well to get 236 runs they need to win. Other players need to support Hasan to beat strong Sri Lankan team. We don't know who will win yet but Bangladesh has a chance if they play well and stay focused. In the first innings, Sri Lankan batsmen cannot be making runs where at least they had a chance to win the match or if their bowlers will do something then they can win this match but in that situation, always there is a player who is known as a game changer and today he is Janith Liyanage who came when five wickets down and also half overs were left then he decided to become a hero, for this, he hit a century. Before him the player came like Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama and others but these were all not able to make at least 30 runs but however here is Janith Liyanage then what's the name of the problem? He was needy of a player who could just stand with him otherwise it would not be good for them. No one could stand with him that's why the whole team was out but still, he was considered as not out player. This match was very important for Afghanistan to win as if they had lost they would have lost the series but now it is tied.
Once again, Afghanistan returned to winning ways and the T20 series was leveled at the moment. Afghanistan won the second T20 only on Rashid Khan's impeccable bowling. Rashid Khan was not associated with the team for a long time but after he joined the team he showed great bowling performance.Rashid Khan also became man of the match with four wickets for just 14 runs in four overs of the second T20 match. The third match between these two teams is going to be played today, perhaps both teams will face a tough fight to win the series. Yesterday night, Afghanistan got a victory for long to them. That was not a close match, both teams fought to each other as well. Yesterday, Sharjah Cricket Night became the lighting show if there was a match of Pakistan vs Afghanistan because that match has become a rivalry. IMO, irresponsible attitude and the kind of negligence shown here are the major reasons many cricketing boards keep failing to sustain their financial system.
You got a home series and both teams are playing good cricket, it's poised well with a scoreline of 1-1. You have to make a spectacle out of it, instead, they are playing in front of empty stands. It tells you more about how many cricket boards are only interested in freeloading.
The first two ODIs were Day and Night, the second ODI was also at Chattogram. Don't know why they kept 3rd ODI for Monday and that too in day light. Already there is limited viewership for ODI and Test, if boards keep scheduling series like this then it will end up like today's game. Janith Liyanage maiden ODI century has given Sri Lankan bowlers some hope. Score predictor was predicting 215 but Sri Lankans concluded there innings at 235. Still Bangladesh favourite to win today's contest unless they do some serious blunders in batting. Ireland team also perform well and scored 37 runs in 3.2 overs. We were very excited to see Ireland winning the first ODI and many thought that they might do an upset in the 2nd ODI and may win the series but this did not happen in the 2nd ODI. We had a close game but in the end Afghanistan won by only 10 runs. I think it was Rashid khan who was the difference between the two teams. He took four wickets and also made a quick 25 runs. If we see the batting of Afghanistan team then they did not have a good start. However Muhammad Nabi made 59 runs in the middle of the innings which helped the Afghanistan team to reach some total to defend. Then it was all Rashid Khan spell that made all sort of problems for the Ireland batsmen. Although they started the innings good with Andy Balbirnie making 45 runs and the captain Paul Stirling made a 24 but then the rest of the batsmen were not able to capitalize on this start and they fell short of 10 runs. Appreciate their efforts and hope they will come strong in the 3rd and the final ODI.  |

My prediction for the final match of Pakistan Super League played between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United. Multan Sultans are the favourite to win this Final match because they win most of the matches and have more chances of becoming the champions.

Islamabad United secured the final match with an impressive win and they will play the final match against Multan Sultans. Although Peshawar played well with Zalmi and they got away easily Islamabad United played strongly as they won by 5 wickets and confirmed the final. In the match though, Peshawar Zalmi's batsmen did brilliantly and scored 185 runs, a huge score. However, this score was met by Islamabad United very easily and going into the final match, the match was really interesting anyway. But the next match will surely be a great one between Islamabad United and Multan Sultan as both the teams are gearing up for the final and they will be playing to win the trophy. And I think both teams will fight hard enough to win the trophy in PSL final match and I think Islamabad United, along with Multan Sultan will win the trophy and snatch the trophy.
Tomorrow is going to be the final match of the PSL 9 season and it will decide whether the trophy is going to Multan Sultans second time or Islamabad United third time. A moment of concern is that tomorrow again no crowd will be come for sure as you can see the Qualifiers and both Eliminator matches crowd and now if you say some seats were full then it does not mean that the stadium was full. The best crowd you can see in this PSL was at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan (as I mentioned this before also) but there is no chance that in Karachi people will come to the match even if their league Karachi Kings was playing. Don't know if those people do not like the cricket at all  Think of a final that will be going to held without much crowd in the Karachi Stadium and there will be fewer people who will chant for their team. That is the issue of Ubaid Shah, he just played a match with Islamabad United and in that match his performance was not good, and then he was dropped for the whole PSL. It is not fair to him. He should get once more chance to play but at the same time, now their team is in a position where the situation is a do or die for them, either lift the trophy or be a runner-up. So they cannot take any risks to include him in the final match. But if this risk is taken it could rise in a good way if he showed a good performance at the finals. If this experiment of giving a chance to him in the final fails then the whole blame goes to him (and the selectors too ) and most probably then he never gets a chance to play. |

Apparently in today's match I backed Islamabad United as a possibility to qualify but in reality it doesn't look like they will qualify for the final. Peshawar Zalmi has just two batsmen, one Babar Azam and the other Saim Ayub, if either of them performs well, Peshawar Zalmi can target big runs on that day.
Peshawar Zalmi has a very strong position in the match and I do not think that they can lose from this position. Recently Saim Ayub lost his wicket at 73 runs but he played his part. I hope that with this strong start and wickets in hand, the Peshawar Zalmi should end up scoring 200+ and secure their position in the finals. Naseem Shah took two wickets but there were no other successful bowlers and this is the main reason why Islamabad united bowlers weren't able to put any pressure on the opponent. Also Islamabad united have some good batting in the form of Alex Hales, Martin Guptil, Shadab Khan and others and therefore Peshawar Zalmi needs to make sure to score above 200 runs to put extra pressure on the opponents batsmen's in the 2nd innings. |
